    Terrible for DWTS.

    Kill it with fire!

  • casj

    I think there is something wrong with those 15 minute detail since all scored worse on the final rating than in any of its 15 minutes.

  • Bee

    lol no more clip shows for the voice!

    go on is nice, but not particularly funny. mindy and new normal have funny moments, but are still finding their groove. they’re a bit uneven right now.

    fingers crossed for nashville!

  • Ram510

    CW should just be considered a cable network, then it would look competitive in comparison to other networks

  • Anna

    0.7 is a really good number to CW! I think some people already forgot that shows like Gossip Girl and Nikita with 0.5 or 0.4 were renewed, so HoD is doing pretty good =D

  • omabin

    It’s too hard to tell what the bottom ratings will be for CBS this year, but at this point I would be very surprised if Vegas makes it (although it will still probably get a full year). Hopefully H50 can go up some more. I also think CSI will fall when it faces both Nashville and Chicago Fire (not to mention post-premiere drops) and The Mentalist should also fall a bit after the premiere, especially when delays kick in. When all is said and done, all of their Sunday-Wednesday 10pm shows should be between 1.7 and 2.3. I am letting Elementar out of this because I have no idea of where it will stabilize yet.

    @nikki

    HOD season 1 ep 5 hit 2 mil

  • Siobhan

    NBC this is what you get for not ordering Downwardly Mobile and Lady Friends to series.

    “I think there is something wrong with those 15 minute detail since all scored worse on the final rating than in any of its 15 minutes.”

    “The 15 minutes break down for Vegas do not make sense..

    (Vegas: 2.9, 2.6, 2.3, 2.2) Are you sure? If that was the breakdown, the ratings should be 2.5 not 2.0.”

    They were from last week and shouldn’t have been there.

  • eridapo

    The majority of the shows are down. Next Monday will have a clue as to how this year might be heading. If we see similar drops on Thursday and Sunday, then broadcast tv in general might be in trouble.

  • Mark

    That’s good for Hart of Dixie! It will probably do what it did last year and stay really steady and go up by november.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

    “The majority of the shows are down.”

    Just like pretty much every returning broadcast show, every year, for the last 30 years or so. Exceptions to that general rule exist, but have always been few and far between.

    “then broadcast tv in general might be in trouble.”

    All of a sudden? After declining ratings for 30 years, and adjusting their business model to take them into account, suddenly this season the straw breaks the camel’s back?

    Nonsense.

  • SPM

    @ Anna

    Gossip Girl & 90210 are in their 6th and 5th years respectively

    HOD is only beginning its second year so for it to get constant 0.5s this season will guarantee it doesn’t make it to the big make or break third year.

    0.7 for an opening episode of a new season isn’t that great really as hype alone should get it higher than that then it can drop to 0.7 later in the season. HOD will drop to 0.6 or 0.5 int he next several episodes for sure then it will be the kiss of death depending on how the new shows perform.

    @eridapo
    then broadcast tv in general might be in trouble

    I’m sure the networks are completely unprepared for year-to-year declines, given the stability and growth over the past three decades.

    Wait, that doesn’t sound right.

  • Stella

    The only negative press Elementary has been getting is from those crazed Sherlock fans that just can’t accept that the character itself, Sherlock can be spun in different story lines and tv series.

    those people need to get over themselves.

  • Brandy

    Good that HoD wasn’t adjusted down.
    SPM, HoD was renewed for several reasons:its one of the cheapest cw shows to make,did well in dvr(1.0 or higher),did well in w18-34,did/does well online,it was doing better than half of CWs lineup at end of the season/third highest rated cw show the last three weeks of the season(it had better ratings than GG ,Nikita,Ringer,Secret Circle in April & May,did better than h8tr,remodeled,la complex).Plus CW ended OTH,cancelled Ringer,SC,Remodeled,h8tr & couldn’t afford to cancel anymore.HoD always bounced back when going low, grew out of its leadin,early repeats in fall helped grow its audience,also it’s not heavily serialized/episodic like Ringer,Nikita ect. so if you missed an episode last season or just tuned in for first time last night,you’re not totally lost & confused,Mark Pedowitz mentioned this in a interview, said he wanted to go more procedural,episode by episode with shows this season cause Ringer was hard to get into if you missed a episode.

  • Petar Ivanov

    Its loooooong season. May be 2 networks must run originals when other 2 networks run repeats. May be these days 4 Networks is too much competition. 35 weeks are more than enough.

  • Kyle

    What happening to TV?! LOLS

    Last Fall ratings were STRONGER then this. DWTS was in the 3-4 range, CBS Comedies were in the 4-5 range and their dramas were always above 3?!

    NBC Comedies are ALL WEAK. Go On looks terrible now. 2.1. These are BIG DROPS they are having. When are they going to level off? Also the New Normal looks BAD against a Modern Family but that’s really everything. The New Normal and Go On will last the entire season but their 2nd season are in BIG doubt if they don’t recover.

  • John

    @SPM,

    You do realize that HOD premiered with a 0.8 and ended it’s first season with a 0.6, right? You are extremely crazy to think its 0.7 is a huge disappointment. Not all shows get a higher rating than its previous season finale’s rating.

    Plus, it didn’t have hype. It only had 1 preview and it just had to make do with its existing fanbase.

    Maybe you’d like to get over Ringer or TSC getting cancelled? If those were renewed, I doubt they’d premiere above a 0.5!
