@DB
YO, waz up? I just meant it was witty, I’m all for cutting PBS. Barney too
Based on last night’s accounts of the “talent” tantrums on MSNBC due to B.O. blowing it, the discount-NBC cable net could have easily been mistaken for an episode of Sesame Street.
If PBS must solicit advertisers to keep its operation going, surely someone else or a mega media corporation, or even George Soros could provide financial help to keep the childrens’ TV programming alive.
I watched Sesame Street with my daughters when they were pre-school aged and I enjoyed it. The Children’s Television Workshop was a wonderful thing.
But, I don’t want MY tax money to go to liberal programs like PBS’s “Frontline” and other left-leaning shows like “NewsHour.” Let them go out into the advertising pool with every other network to solicit advertisers and viewers.
We are talking about trillions in debt, unemployment, Obamacare, and many other pressing problems.
The lib. media and the left want to make Big Bird and the moderator the issue.
Poor Big bird. Romney wants to kill him and Thanks Giving is coming.
@ Doug Z,
The point is, in order to solve thee debt problem you need a combination of cost cutting & REVENUE INCREASE .
Romney doesn’t want to tax the rich to raise revenue, he just want to go into severe budget cutting.
Now who will be victimized from those cuts ? The Average Joe
Which one seems more sane to do ? Harming the Average Joe who’s already hurting by cutting his benefits ? Or asking the billionaire to pay a bit more ?
This country will not be able to compete with other leading nations without spending and investing.
Big Bird didn’t cause the debt problem, he and the people who benefit from him should not pay the price.
@S. Papa other than sit and grace this place with your colorful analysis
What’s going in out your way?
@Coffee Steve, my automatic antenna stopped working, fix it so I can listen to my favorite Lefty AM stations. Doing it manually looks silly
Does Bigbird pay taxes?
@Jeff
Foil, Wrap Foil on it, looks bad but works LOL
PBS (Progressive Broadcast Service) should not receive any funded from taxpayers….

In the boring side of my life things are a little slow but we do have a few small projects going.
There are some exciting things happening on the writer side. When you get home and have some time I will e-mail a pilot I wrote. An hour drama, it has a chance. You will like it, it is real urban stuff. I ghostwrote the pilot so I will get a writing credit but I don’t own the rights. The writing credit will allow me to join the Writers Guild.
So now PBS is being considered liberal and/or progressive. So, pretty much EVERY channel that isn’t Fox News is liberal. If something or someone goes against your ideologies, just call them the enemy….
I’m worried about The Boss 1 . Have I missed a post of his ? He has such a sad situation right now. I can empathise with both my parents in hospice.

Why this appointment ?
President Obama appointed Salam Al-Marayati, president of the Muslim Public Affairs Council as one of his representatives to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe ‘s Human Dimension Implementation Meeting? This conference is perhaps the largest Human rights conference in the world. Salam Al-Marayati is not exactly a human rights activist
September 11, 2001, Al-Marayati used a Los Angeles talk radio program as a forum in which to accuse the Israelis of conducting that morning’s attacks on New York and Washington
Al-Marayati has also called for the U.S. government to unfreeze the assets of two Islamic charities, the Global Relief Foundation and the Holy Land Foundation, that were shut down by the government because of funding they had given to terrorist organizations.
Al-Marayati refuses to call Hezbollah a terrorist group. “I don’t think any group should be judged 100% this or that,” he says. “I think every group is going to have . . . its claim of liberation and resistance.” He has similarly justified Hamas’ existence as a political entity that promotes social programs and “educational operations.”
@d.d.
I haven’t seen Boss on in a while, my heart goes out to him, I do know that

Every channel but Fox is Lib. Fox is Right. No Freudian slip intended.
Next time coffins come home from overseas maybe they should play a laugh track like on sitcoms. That way Americans can see that the military is just another political prop for these Jokers in Washington. Not that anyone cares in this country. We are the most disgusting melting plot in the World. We vote over whether Isreal should survive but we spit on and treat veterans like garbage and we send our kids to a slaughter and pretend how much we love them but do nothing to show it. We deserve everything we get and I hope we get full force in at least 15 states then maybe we care more about our own than we will ratings for a old man debate. I guess Bin Laden did win. Shame on America
@d.d.
I knew some thiongs about Salam Al-Marayati, but reading more now, amazing.
Goes way beyond my comphrehension on why.
@

I think the people of this country honor our service people. I know we argue sometimes about military issues. I think the people on this site in particular appreciate and care about our people in uniform. I do think it is unfair of you to say that we don’t care.
I think most people in Washington truly care and only the most crass politicians exploit our Military.
Do you realy think PBS is not liberal after fireing Juan Williams. They are more tham capable of self funding instead of ripping off the profits from Big Bird and other sucessful enterprises.
@ Sicilian Pizza they care about them when the camera’s are on. Lets see how many bills have the repubs and dems held hostage that dealt with our troops. If that is what you call Honor than you might as well go to arlington and wipe your butt on a troops grave. Do you really think someone is gonna bash the troops on here. Do you personally know someones heart. From the typed word. You must get the award for most nieve person to post on here. Washington cares yeah they show it too. Took a comiedian in Jon Stewart to shame them into health care for first responders of 9/11. Our military heroes are the least taken care of group ever. We care more about whether day old sperm is alive then we do a troop with limbs blown off
ok now I have listened and read the spin, the excuses, the deflections, the lies, from the altitude to obama being too busy to prep. Here is the way that Obama could have won the debate hands down, no doubt.
Obama: Gov Romney has layed out big ideas, tax cuts, raised revenues, jobs! I promised to reduce the debt 50%…………I did! I said unemployment would be around 6% by now…………it is! I said health insurance premiums would be reduced by $2500 per family………….they have been. Thats all I got, I am going to take my wife to dinner for our anniversary now, see you at the inauguration!
If he had a record like that he would have won last night with out a doubt.
