All-new episodes of KITCHEN NIGHTMARES, the unscripted series featuring Chef Gordon Ramsay helping fledging restaurants turn their luck and their businesses around, will start cooking Friday, Oct. 26 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. TOUCH, the critically acclaimed adventure drama starring Emmy Award winner Kiefer Sutherland ("24") will now have its second season premiere in January 2013 (date and time to be announced).

In the fifth season of KITCHEN NIGHTMARES, Gordon Ramsay treks to Brooklyn, Boston, Pittsburgh and the suburbs of Los Angeles and Cleveland, to help struggling restaurants stay afloat. Each week, Chef Ramsay will visit a new establishment with myriad problems. He will delve deep into the inner workings of each eatery and explore everything from unsanitary refrigerators to lazy and inexperienced staff in order to diagnose the real problems. Whether he changes the restaurant’s operations, updates the menu or gives the establishment a complete makeover, Chef Ramsay will do whatever it takes to try and turn these restaurants into popular, successful and, most importantly, money-making businesses. It’s up to the restaurant owners to take his advice and use it – or face closure.

In Season Two of TOUCH, the story setting shifts from New York to Los Angeles, where single father MARTIN BOHM (Kiefer Sutherland) and his gifted son, JAKE (David Mazouz), are on the run from the mysterious and possibly sinister research facility Aster Corps, which had shown tremendous interest in exploiting Jake's ability to perceive the hidden patterns that connect people around the world. After arriving on the West Coast, the father-son team met distraught mother LUCY ROBBINS (Maria Bello, “ER”) and now are determined to help find her missing – and equally gifted – daughter AMELIA (newcomer Saxon Sharbino). During their search, their paths will cross with Aster Corps’ genius, CALVIN NORBURG (Lukas Haas, “24”), who’s rumpled exterior masks his true colors, as well as a complicated and intense religious zealot, GUILLERMO ORTIZ (Said Taghmaoui, “G.I. Joe: The Rise of The Cobra”).

KITCHEN NIGHTMARES is a co-production of ITV Studios America and Optomen in association with A. Smith & Co. Productions, Inc. • Jeff (Canada)

    Well that was unexpected.

Interesting, what the hell is Fox going to do with The Mob Doctor’s slot through January.

Are they actually considering keeping Mob Doctor in that Monday timeslot slot until January?

  • Oliver

Odd. So what will take Mob Doctor’s timeslot? The Following?

  • Dan

Yea I think fox just wants to wait to cancel the mob doctor. Touch won’t premiere in January it will probably replace the mob doctor in November

  • Dan

@bill maybe fox is waiting to axe the mob doctor nd replace it with touch

  • Jeff (Canada)

Do you know if Fox has any reality/competition shows lined up (ex. Million Dollar Money Drop)? I know you usually just talk about scripted shows, but maybe Fox has some filler up their sleeve for Monday nights once they take Mob Doctor off the air.

  • SJ

I still say they’ll double up on Bones episodes for November sweeps. The final Mob Doctor (excluding possible wintertime burn-off) airs this coming Monday.

  • omabin

this was unexpected. Will they actually keep mob doctor there? maybe they will just double up on bones as some people suggested. but it’s still very weird. they could still move touch but this would have been the perfect opportunity to do so, which is strange

    Poll is now posted.

@Dan, keeping The Mob Doctor on the schedule until January is startling, but I admit, now must be considered possible!

@Jeff(Canada), I don’t know of any, but that’s the kind of thing that could escape my notice.

@SJ, if by double up you mean Repeat Bones at 8pm, New Bones at 9pm, it’s in the poll!

  • Dan

@Bill, its possible but with a 1.0 for mondays, it doesnt seem probable even airing during sweeps. I could understand if it was a Friday show like Fringe or Dollhouse pulling those numbers. They would probably keep Mob Doctor. But if Mob Doctor airs all 13 episodes in its slot through January i’d be very surprised. The Following will be in that slot by February though. Putting Touch in January makes it seem unlikely that it will get a full season.

  • RyanCanada

i dont think Touch will make it, they havent been to good to that show, like puting out a new episode from last season? i find Fox to mishandle alot of there shows just like that show with the guy from everybody loves ramond, cant remember it, but you get my drift

  • s0303

this doesn’t make much sense, i was actually looking forward to touch :( wonder what the reasoning is behind it…it can’t do much worse than a lot of their new shows are doing…if they wanted kitchen nightmares to replace something, it should have been mob doctor (even though i like that show)…

  • The End

On the bright side. Touch isn’t being put on Friday(As of yet). Kiefer Sutherlands show now has a chance at Season 3(Should the numbers warrant).

And regarding Mob Doctor, perhaps Fox would like to see if the numbers can get as low as The LA Complex on CW. Shouldn’t be too hard to achieve :)

  • Joseph

Loom for Fox to program reality in the Friday 8-9 P.M. (ET/PT) slot for the rest of the season (and probably beyond), and once “Fringe” ends, Friday nights on Fox will go all-reality.

By next year at this time, CBS may be the only network broadcasting first-run scripted shows on Friday night (although NBC may also air one or two first-run scripted shows on Fridays next season).

ABC, The CW, and Fox will be all-reality (or in ABC’s case, with a newsmagazine) on Fridays.

  • Wowza

Im shocked. Ramsey should be Mondays. I know there is a lot of reality on mondays already but ramsey could have done Okay. Big fan base for him on that network after this summer. IDK about that particular tittle though… Possibility – FOX has Hells Kitchen waiting in the wings?? Already….

  • Greg

It does make more sense to premiere Touch after Fringe is gone, otherwise they would have nothing to air on Fridays by March.

As a fan of Touch, this is good new. Touch would have failed on Fridays. Hope FOX gives this show another chance in Jan

  • Greg

Are people really believing that this means that Touch won’t air on Fridays anymore?

If I were FOX, I would air the season premiere of Touch on January 31, using AI’s lead in to promote the show a bit more and then air the next episode on the following day (supposedly, the day Fringe airs its final episode).

  • Dan

What I don’t understand is where will Touch go n January? Fridays later in the season (Bad Idea), Monday after Bones (Then where will the Following air?).

  • Dan S

In another thread I suggested The Following go to Thur after AI. Glee will go back to Tues after there comedy block crumbles & Touch could return on Mon at some point replacing Mob Dr.
