I little cash? Stack 90 billion in your living room and see if it looks like a little cash.

I have no problem putting a few billion into research. I like the clean energy ideas and we may be able to make it work but what the President is doing is crony capitalism at best.

The oil subsides average 3 billion a year. Most of it goes to smaller companies for exploration. Hardly 90 billion.

  • Faith3

    SP,

Oil prices are up on the East coast because of all the oil refinery closings.

  • Jeff

@am now convinced that you are not a Realtor.

Ask yourself, do you really think I care what you believe?

Does not take much to convince yourself of anything it seems from all of your erroneous “news” links.
Its Sunday, time to go back to your “board meeting” and blame Obama for all your woes. As I said, you would be considered quite irresponsible for making those excuses for your short comings in business. It’s Obama fault, it’s not only false, it’s lunacy.

A Republican business owner might like the sound of that, but at the end of the day if that was your excuse, you’d be fired.

Point of clarification to jeffie kaak kaaaa’s post about militart pay.

E-2 Private makes…..$1,671 from boot camp thru 30 of years of service.

Sergeant (E5)…..2 years of service $25,489

    4 years of service…..$29,851

    6 years of service…..$31,946

Very few if any make E-5 with under 4 years of service.

    All enlisted recieve
Basic Allowance for Subsistence (BAS) Enlisted Members $323.87/month, if you live off post and do not eat in the mess hall. Enlisted personnel that live in the barracks do not receive this allowance.

Basic pay for an O-7 to O-10 (General Officers) is limited to $14,975.10 per month by Level II of the Executive Schedule.

Basic pay for O-6 and below Colonal) is limited to $12,141.60 by Level V of the Executive Schedule.

Basic Allowance for Housing (BAH) May recieve, most will with families.
BAH depends upon your location, pay grade and whether you have dependents.

Clothing allowances may be issued to help members pay for their uniforms. There are four main types of clothing allowance: Initial, Replancement, Maintanence, and Extra.

Enlisted receive the Initial and then Cash Clothing Replacement Allowance once a year.

    Officers only receive the Initial.

From the Navycs.com web site: For E-8s and E-9s with over 40 years of service the note posted says “Make room / retire”.

  • lbsles

The promotion criteria for promotion to the ranks of E-2 to E-4 are:

    •Private (E-2) – Six months time-in-grade (TIG) as a private (E-1).
    •Private First Class (E-3) – Four months TIG as a Private (E-2) and 12 months time-in-service (TIS).
    •Specialist/Corporal (E-4) – 6 months TIG with 24 months TIS.
    Primary Zone

    •Sergeant (E-5) – 8 months TIG as an E-4 and 36 months (3 years) TIS.
    •Staff Sergeant (E-6) – 10 months TIG as an E-5 and 84 months (7 years) TIS.
    Secondary Zone (Exceptional Performers)

    •Sergeant (E-5) – 4 months TIG and 18 months TIS.
    •Staff Sergeant (E-6) – 5 months TIG and 48 months (4 years) TIS.

A Semi centralized Promotion process means that the unit (company) plays a part in the promotion selection process, but it’s the Army (Army-wide) who decides who actually gets promoted. As I mentioned at the beginning of the article, within each Army MOS (job) there are limited numbers of who can hold the ranks of E-5 and E-6 at any given time. When vacancies open up (due to people getting promoted or people getting out), the Army has to decide (Army-wide) which E-4s (within that MOS) to promote to E-5 and which E-5s to promote to E-6.

  • Jeff

Thanks lbsles for adding to my point. Our Govt. spends far too much money on wasteful projects, one of the many examples was expensive security contractors when we had over 100,000 troops of the finest military soldiers in the world, being paid far less than Dick Cheney’s no bid contractors.

So when we complain about any President’s spending projects, remember you don’t have to go too far back in history and see the moron you voted for twice, did it for far worse useless reasons, other than to line their friends wallets.

  • DB

Jeffie, 90 billion to loser companies- I guess that is not wasteful since Obama did it. Also if you don’t care what Rat or any of us think then why do you spend so much time trying to tell us the details of your life? Most of us know it is the ramblings of a little man unhappy with where he is but we would not bring it up if you didn’t keep bringing it up. Just ramble from your left wing blogs and don’t insult our intelligence with the fairy tales.

Suiko, what are the errors in Killing Kennedy? Are they important errors or just small details that don’t matter. How about some evidence?? Still waiting for your examples and evidence of Romney lying. Thanks for your efforts.

I little cash? Stack 90 billion in your living room and see if it looks like a little cash.
    ——————————–
My basic point is the way the Republicans talk you would think the 90B they are talking about is one big payment when in all reality it’s spread out over 10 years. In terms of Oil Subsides we pay roughly half of that(http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Politics/2011/0309/Budget-hawks-Does-US-need-to-give-gas-and-oil-companies-41-billion-a-year).

I am of the belief that if one is against giving subsidies to businesses, fair enough but why just attack one industry, why not go after all of them(and this goes beyond the energy industry). Now if one believes that the Oil industry deserves subsides but Green Energy doesn’t I would love to hear the logic behind that.

Giving business subsidies has been around long before Obama was in office, hell you can find a few companies Romney bought that got state and federal subsidies, but I am guessing in his case those were good subsidies.

As I also pointed out Romney’s false claim that “half” the industries Obama gave cash to was just downright false(it’s not even a case it was close, basically 3 out of 32 companies completely failed)

When it comes down to it the attack on Green Energy just sounds like a bunch of BS to make an issue bigger then it is(basically if I was to go by what Romney/Republican talking points are, I would assume all 90B has been given out the the companies and most of them failed). I never heard an argument why we shouldn’t do it with substance(ie tell me why either you don’t think government should subsidize business in general which is a fair argument in my books(but not the case to the Republicans) or tell me why you think the Green Energy Industry is a lost case that it’s not worth investing in.

  • Coffee Steve

You guys get lucky Monday, as of 9AM and they work on my teeth and gums I won’t be able to talk so good for a day or two :-)

I thought Bret Baier was suppose to be the news guy that was fair and balanced over at Fox News, until I read the upcoming show he’s going to have…..

Preview Bret Baier’s Fox News Reporting Special – ‘Behind Obama’s Green Agenda’

Does Obama have radical “green” roots? Bret Baier travels across America, revealing rogue regulators, tracing the truth about the president’s environmental agenda and exposing programs that could devastate our economy!

I might actually watch this. How dare we try to save our environment!

Suikostinger——Did you read your own post. Sounds good to me.

    ————————-

I guess many issues that Romney has flip flopped on(and I am not even saying he flipped from say 10-15 years ago I am just talking about the past 2 weeks to 2 months) are technically not a “lie” but they do come across rather questionable(which side does he really sit?)

Beyond that some of the math he uses is questionable to prove his case and just saying “don’t worry it will work if everything goes right”(which is a large assumption) does open up a a lot of questions.

I think a perfect example of this would be his proposed tax plan would lead to 4.8T in lost income for the government if we assume the employment rate stays the same. By asking him how do you plan to counter the 5T in debt you will create, then him responding well It won’t create 5T is true in the sense it’s only 4.8T. Fault Obama for not being more direct and giving Romney an easy out to say well it’s not 5T which I would consider a half truth(ie sure it’s not true but your ignoring the bigger question that your tax plan opens up lose in revenues weither it’s 3T or 5T)

  • Doug Z

Mark —as you wrote failing, Not dead 3 out of 32 Dead.

Romney basically came off to me as a snake oil salesman which is probably why he is successful in business. He basically can manipulate words without actually saying anything of substance to sound good, many times misleading people who don’t know better what he is saying.

  • Sicilian Papa

    Mark

Cut 90%, leave a little money for research and development. Offer no tax breaks, everybody pays the same amount. There will be less corruption on both sides. The companies will spend less time and money lobbying. I think you could both sides to agree and we would save some money.

That’s pretty good. Not lol funny but very cute.

    @Mark

Romney lied about Obamas medicaid plan on stage at the debate. I already said this, DB just fails to acknowledge it.

  • Jeff

@DB were those Sunday Bible school kids throwing things at you again?

You bring up my life far more than anyone. My conversations with others is just fine, they do not complain. ( not for you to concern yourself with) Just you and ratturd for the most part complain. If you have an issue with people talking about what’s going on in their lives, I suggest you leave and not come back to this site. Lots of folks share as do I. You simply do not like me (nor i you) and you fear everything I say is true.

I pretty happy with life, thanks for your concern.
