Is it really true that Days tapes 6 months in advance? I find that hard to believe especially since Peter Reckell filmed his final episode in July which will air this month…sooooooo….that is THREE months in advance, NOT SIX months. Hmmmm….
Days has A LOT going for it. I am loving most of the storylines and looking forward to seeing it progress. If Gabi IS pregnant with Will’s baby, that would be a great development to watch play out.
That Phyllis character on Y&R seems quite bizarre!

I think that’s how far in advance the show is WRITTEN, not taped. I believe the episodes are TAPED three months ahead, they taped their 12,000th episode last week, and it won’t air until January.
Three months is still a long time for a soap, though. The other soaps (including ones now cancelled) tape 3-6 weeks ahead of air, and write about 3 months ahead of air. I know that OLTL was taped 6 weeks ahead, and was written 3 months ahead.

I think Kelly Monaco missed the mark with her lackluster performance upon learning her baby was alive. Same stoned expression she always has. Guess that’s why she and Jason make a good couple I suppose. They both don’t seem capable of emoting. If she on Prozac or something????
@Kayla Rae Phyllis had always been an anti-heroine and always very watchable. Must say I got right back in to Y&R after not watching for years although I’m kinda freaked over all these teens running around. I stopped watching about 4 yrs ago, Summer was a baby and now she looks like she’s in her late teens. Ya think the actors would take exception to themselves being aged.
JonBoyelk, I agree with you about Kelly Monaco and Jason. They both do seem lacking in the emoting dept. Personally, I find them both extremely boring and unbelievable.
The actor playing Duke Lavery makes me laugh too. He’s like a little leprechaun. He left Days just a little while back and now GH is stuck with him.
Tea’s little “cry fits” are hilarious…so silly and also laughable!
Heather is really the only reason to watch GH at all. I find Anna boring too and the thought of her and Luke together = puke.
Days was great today! Love the fights between Jen and Nicole…so intense…now there is some great emoting!
I gotta’ tell ya’, I pretty much watched GH all the way through today and it was, for me, a laughable mess to say the least. Did you see Tea seemingly blow her nose into her baby’s lime green onesey near the end of the episode? Ha!
I’m definitely sticking with Days. It is so much better on so many levels.
I am really enjoying GH everyday. The ratings rollercoaster is frustrating to say the least. I will continue to enjoy it and support it as my fave.
I watch DOOL regularly and I am looking forward to seeing some much needed tweaking. Some good stuff, but lots of room for improvement. I thought Nicole’s initial reaction to the loss of her baby was very well done. (I haven’t watched since she got the news, hope she doesn’t try to pretend she’s still pregnant, that’s where I see it headed).
Y&R will get better. I like most of the current cast & characters since the downsizing. I watch about as much as I watch DOOL; 2-3 times per week, time permitting.
B&B was pretty good last I watched, about once a week. Definitely NOT must see for me, but I can see why it has a strong fanbase. Stephanie will be missed. She’s my fave.
Hi Chrisann. I’m LOVING GH too! I never miss an episode and am excited to see what will happen next! Although he isn’t my fave, I am sure Steve Burton’s Jason will be missed by many. Curious to see how it all plays out. Loving Llanview event is this coming weekend. A lifelong soapfan and this is my first fan event. I go to lots of concerts, sports events, etc., but nothing like this. Should be fun!
Nicole on Days is a fantastic actress! She deserves an emmy! Lovin’ her current storyline and all the tension between her and Jen, who is another phenomenal actress. Days is rockin’! Now Stefano is returning with his daughter…hooray!!!
Kayla, Glad you are enjoying Days. I am enjoying GH. Days has been ok. I think Nicole is a good actress too. I do have a hard time with all the plastic looking actresses on some of the soaps. They seem to have had so much plastic surgery and botox that they can’t even blink.
Glad you are enjoying GH, Chrisann. Heather is the only thing I can abide on GH now. Once she is gone, so am I. GH just doesn’t do it for me. Days, on the other hand, rocks!

The most recent soap ratings where just posted over at SON and GH had a huge week in 18-34 and 18-49! As well as total viewers! Awesome for GH! The news not as good for Days fans as the ratings continue to drop!

That was such a fantastic storyline when Marlena was possessed by the devil. Must-see tv! Would love another plot like that for sure!
I love ejami on day’s I wish they would let swami admit her true heart,and allow them to be together and have a big wedding with true love and drama of course mixed in. Rafe leave ej and his Samantha alone.also please let sami grow up and stop playing table tennis between ej and rate not to mention poor lucus who also loved her and she in many ways used him.
