@max if revenge bothers u so much why do you even care what ratings it gets. has it ever occured to you that abc maneged to renew scandal even though it got ratings ranging from 1.8-2.3 and lets not mention gcb got similar ratings too. it looks like abc picked scandal over gcb because abc has faith in scandal by giving it its best lead in. it really doesn’t matter how much u promote a show its the lead in and time it gets. and ya their are a lot of shows that don’t get much promotion but still get 3’s.

I was surprised that Grey dropped that much from last week in coveted age group. If I recall it was a 4.3 rating last week.

I think SCANDAL will get a 3rd season. It has an extremely loyal fanbase. I also think LAST RESORT will actually grow a bit and turn into something ABC can be happy with on Thursday’s @8. My major prediction for this season is that REVENGE collapses on Sunday and is eventually given the axe.

  • MoHasanie

    @Petar Ivanov

I don’t think POI will beat Grey’s this season. POI normally stays around 2.5 – 3.0, whereas Grey’s will probably be able to manage 3.0+ the whole fall, and then may fall to high 2’s in spring. But anything could happen. Should Grey’s fall to mid 2’s in the spring, than maybe POI will beat it.

  • chezmoi

I do not see many of these programs as I am from the UK. However the start of S1 of POI reminded me of Human Target S1 with a little classic Airwolf and Knight Rider without the transport. S2 of POI from what I hear seems to be converging towards the disastrous S2 of Human Target – far too many chracters muscling in on the storyline – too much history etc…like Burn Noltice. However a profitable show with a 2.5 rating and 10 million viewers is ok despite my concerns. The key to profitability presumably includes keeping labour costs (actors, writers and production) low.

By the way, my favourite US Shows are: NCIS, The Closer and the three CSI franchises…

Expected more than -.1 for CBS, so I’m happy–Elementary still a whole half point over ABC–GO CBS!!

  • Petar Ivanov

I think Holly or somebody here said that Greys year per year drop from last 5 years is 0.5. So we must expect same drop and this year if not even bigger.

  • Del

I do not get the retentionista argument about Scandal. I never watched a Shonda R. Show before because I do not watch medical/hospital shows. Scandal is a fun entertaining show, but fans of GA who want a hospital romance type show might not like it. I like it because it is not like GA! People have remotes and can change channels so retaining the GA audience or nit does not mean much. As long as Scandal has higher ratings than some other ABC shows it will be fine.

Too bad about Last Resort. It is OK but I will be watching VD when it returns. Elementary is OK.

So far the new season shows have been dull and disappointing. Last season introduced Revenge and Grimm, this season nothing interesting so far…

    I think that

  • Petar Ivanov

    What is HH. THanks.

  • eridapo

    @ Max

    I agree….

I watch Revenge last year, but near the end of the season the conspiracy was too much…. They can only keep up for another half season, and I don’t see ABC spending any more money to promote the show when it has a big hole with DWTS on two nights.

ABC spend tons on Revenge, and it got results for at least a week. I expect it to be below a 3.0 this week, and it will keep dropping until it settles to DH levels (2.4 to 2.6).

  • MoHasanie

Why would they cancel Revenge? Scandal is much more likely to be cancelled than Revenge. I’m predicting and hoping Revenge will perform similarly to season 8 of Desperate Housewives, and be able to average 3.0 in the fall, and 2.6 in the spring.

  • aciel

@Max u know revenge has a lot of faithful viewers. so u could just stop being such a troll and have you even watched the show so i think not, so you could just stop trolling the board on mondays if u dont like the show thats fine but it really makes it harder for the faithful viewers of revenge to look at the raitngs board. u been doing it for 6 weeks last fall. u basically say the same thing “scandal is better than revenge” come on were not in pre school, ur just pissed that people don’t like your show and actually watch revenge. and doesn’t revenge have better ratings than scandal so ya u could just stop trolling. u should be banned from this webstie u have no life. rather than trolling the board on mondays why wont you do something for ur community or lock urself up in a basement u shouldn’t watch tv. if u just watch tv to troll the board the next day.

HH is defined as Household (the Nielsen estimate of the number of television households in the US).

  • SarahL

Scandal is doing well because its ratings are consistent with last season’s and it is a 13 episode series. It might not get a second season, but ABC knew what it was getting into with Scandal.

As for the Last Resort’s ratings, its ratings are collapsing after JUST two episodes. It likely won’t get a full season.

  • nikki smith

i like Scandal i hope it sticks around, i tried to watch elementary but its just too manic & boring!

  • Oliver

Parks was NBC’s 3rd highest rated comedy last week, only behind Go On and the final season of The Office. I suspect it’ll be NBC’s highest-rated renewable comedy by the end of the season. Reports of its death have been greatly exaggerated.

30 Rock’s ratings are miserable, but it’s up against TBBT. I wouldn’t be surprised if it gains next week since NBC didn’t promote its return.

UAN’s ratings are equally miserable, but it’s in a better timeslot: it’s up against the weaker TaaHM and it’s in a time period with greater television usage. It needs to be put out of its misery. Lorne Michaels is trying his best to defy ratings gravity by letting Christina Applegate host SNL.

Last Resort’s ratings aren’t great, but it’s probably high enough to finish its 13 episode order. It’s certainly less of a bomb than last seasons Charlie’s Angels, which got 1.5 in its second week and was pulled after 7 episodes.

    @ MoHasanie

I do see POI beating Greys a couple of times this year. Most likely when Idol returns and lifts Glee. Glee and Greys share an audience, so a Idol enhanced Glee will hurt Greys.
