Nielsen TV Ratings: ©2012 The Nielsen Company. All Rights Reserved.

NOTE: All ratings are "live plus same day" from Nielsen Media Research unless otherwise indicated.

Definitions:

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.  More information on ratings is available here.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live football game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @ Ram510

Don’t fault just CBS–there are so many turkeys in this fall’s new shows that the bear will have a serious feast come Thanksgiving!

Big shout out to all the nets: WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?

  • Ram510

    @ old man

Haha! But still CBS typically pick pretty good pilots but this season….what were they thinking

  • Ryan

Made in Jersey needs to go

  • Dan

@Ram510 – I’m a bit surprised at CBS as well but there’s still time to salvage the season. CBS was smart to bring back Rules and they have that as a back up for Partners. Though I still don’t think that they will pull Partners. CBS hasn’t had 2 fall cancellations since 2006 (Smith and 3 lbs). Also I’m sure CBS doesn’t want to admit they have failed their only fall comedy by pulling it and I know that they don’t want to order any more Rules of Engagement because this season is obviously the last for Rules. I can see this for fridays if necessary,

    Fridays
    8:00 Undercover Boss
    9:00 CSI NY
    10:00 Blue Bloods

    Fridays Midseason (February or March)
    8:00 Golden Boy
    9:00 CSI NY
    10:00 Blue Bloods

    @eridapo

Vegas is better than made in jersey, elementary and partners. I agree. At least its not unoriginal or copy/paste like Elementary and made in jersey. And NOT SO BORING like these. I will give it one more chance and will try it for you. But don’t like cast. Looks too old for me. But will try and watch 2 ep tonight. Vegas at least have big competition – SOA. Elementary collapse VS Scandal(joke) and Brian Williams(not even true show). If Vegas is in thursdays at 10 can survive but doubt that they(CBS) will move it.

  • eridapo

    @ Tessa

I could see that, but what I believe happen is that they did not expect a 5 season. They wrapped up the two universe storyline last season, and that should have been the end of the show.

When they got the renewal, they created this alternative ending where the Observers are the bad guys. I don’t think that was ever intended.

  • sebacon

this rating is homemade by cbs….the better shows was cancelled…and nothing nothing good new are coming….

  • eridapo

This site is in serious need of an edit button….

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Ram510

See your point, but I think they had two good ones w/ Vegas & Elementary this season, and thinking back at least one or two for each of the previous seasons going back 3 o 4 years or so. IMO ABC had some good ones, as I started watching from The Middle & MF, then a show or two each year following, but not this year.

ABC has had some decent pilots the last few years, but the ratings don’t keep them (8:00 Thurs in particular.

BUT I STILL SAY: TOO MANY TURKEYS THIS YEAR!

  • Dan S

Something tells me the bear is going on a hunger rampage next week. Probably on Tues we’ll start seeing the axe drop on MIJ, Mob Dr & Partners. None of these shows deserve to stay on the air drawing such pitiful numbers as these are getting. Ironically I don’t see NBC being the 1st out the gate with cancellations this year.

  • Ram510

Outside of Neighbors, ABC’s pilots this season have been ok. I’m not in love with Last Resort and 666 but they’re good enough to bring me back the next week. However I think ABC will have a winner with Nashville and maybe Malibu Country

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Dan

They don’t have to cancel both shows, Just MIJ; pull Partners for Nov Sweeps & have ROE for Nov-Jan, then bring Partner back (like they did w/ Rob & ROE last season)

Like your take on Fridays. Hopefully next year will be BB 9:00 & TGW 10:00

  • Dan

@Dan S – I’m sure by monday Made in Jersey will be cancelled. FOX doesnt want the first cancellation of the season to go to them (Last year they were the last network to issue a cancellation with Allen Gregory), so after Mob Doctor airs on october 8 I’m sure that show will be whacked and never seen again. In past seasons NBC would usually be the last season to have a fall cancellation andlast year they were the first, but with the success of The Voice, they may wait a few weeks to dump Animal Practice and Guys With Kids both of which have been low rated but consistent.

  • richierich

    @ Eridapo
When was the last time you saw a CW show with a 1.0?

  • anas

i think grimm will adjust up at the end of the night

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Ram 510

I’m thinking Mailbu County could be the real surprise on Fri as it only needs a 1.5 to be a “hit” & I think it should do at least that. Coupled with Nashville on Weds which should also do at least a 2.5, the rural audience will finally have a voice on the nets.

  • Anthony

What CBS might be experiencing is viewer backlash. It didn’t help when they announced the cancellation of CSI: MIAMI so they can have a New York Crime Night and replace it with MADE IN JERSEY.

What are you talking about? They didn’t cancel CSI: Miami to replace it with Made in Jersey. Miami was on Sundays, Jersey is on Fridays. They cancelled A Gifted Man and put Jersey in his place.

  • Clarke

WHAT was CBS thinking airing Made In Jersey ????! I can’t fathom why CBS thought the show would do well – the premise is dumb and the lead actress can’t even pull off a proper New Jersey accent. Maybe they thought they would get some of Jersey Shore’s audience to watch? WHY CBS? WHY???

  • Mike

    Good for ABC :)
Grimm won the time slot :)
CBS is suffering this season, all their shows are down , some as H50 took a nose dive and the new shows are doing mediocre or bombing . Ha Ha Ha.

  • J.G.

Like everyone’s saying, MIJ is as good as dead after last night. I wonder what they’ll replace it with; I’m predicting Mentalist reruns until Undercover Boss reruns are ready.
