I'm still not sure what the plans are for "Bubble Watch" but at minimum will publish a weekly table indicating which shows have been renewed and canceled so far.
A few of you have asked me what has surprised me the most this season and so far nothing really has surprised me. But if we make it to this time next week and no shows have been cancelled/pulled off the schedule yet, that will surprise me a bit.
As ever, when it comes to renewals, we're talking about for next season. That shows like Revolution and Go On have received full season pickups for this season is not surprising but is of course great news for fans! But that's not the same thing as being renewed for another season.
For Bubble Watch and R/C fans who like all the "likely" and "certain" designations and miss them below, you can fill them in on your own! Despite lack of designations, the list below isn't in alphabetical order and there is actually a rhyme and reason to my sort order below that is pretty easy to figure out.
As usual, shows that haven't aired yet aren't in the list and the list focuses only on scripted shows.

Love Last Resort – dump Revolution -
KS: Actually, re Revolution quotes, Billy Burke has had some decent lines. No one else has, however. However, you may be right as I can’t remember his lines either – but they were decent enough when he said them that I noted them. Only two or three, however.
The one smart trick they pulled on that show so far was establishing that HE was the original “bad guy” that started the militia, not Munroe. I didn’t see that coming so I think that was effective.
Why is it that cancellation is the way to go. Why not try some of these shows on Saturday night. People watch TV on Saturday night. It use to be the best night on TV for stay at home people that don’t have the money to do anything else but what TV. Give these new shows a chance.
nobody watches TV on saturday except sports
Then are saturdays part of networks overall ratings in the end of the year.
Saturday ratings are counted in networks’ weekly and season averages.
Debsafan – Saturdays are used to burn off shows. BTW, CBS @ the very least did air both Made In Jersey and Elementary repeats on Sat recently. However, if you thought Friday numbers were bad, Sat is even worse. It costs too much vs demo that will watch non sports tv on Saturday night. Friday is more likely just barely a profit and is thus used more as a get this show to Syndication.
What they maybe should think about doing is airing unscripted Reality New shows on Saturday nights. Those are cheap enough to produce and are easy to get viewers. No more singing shows, there’s too many of those. But maybe stuff like Fear Factor or Game Shows of the GSN variety. That is if they actually want to create a Saturday as tv viewing outside College Football and the like.
@Clarkwood
ABC are with new reality show. But not for Saturdays. I guess they will try to replace DWTS. Swimming or somthing reality show.

How I Met Your Mother – Certain renewal
The ratings say that, but there’s talk of this being HIMYM’s final season, so it should be on the bubble, or at least likely renewal.
FOX should cancel TMD ASAP, but hasn’t b/c it has nothing to put in its place or so they say. They could put a House, TSCC,TN or even X-Files. I remember about 15 or 20 years ago chen CBS was having a terrible year. Practically everything they aired was canceled, so CBS aired an All In the Family episode and CBS won the time period!
With HIMYM, like House, is not about ratings, its if the cast wants to continue and with a show that that, it needs to be wrapped up nicely to end the story.
First cancellations
Made in Jersey – Tomorrow
The Mob Doctor – Tuesday
Animal Practice/Guys With Kids – Thursday but possibly next week or the week after

Last Resort won’t have to face the bear for awhile. It’s ratings aren’t disastrous & hopefully ABC might try it out on another day & time before making any decision to yank it. The show in more immediate trouble is The Neighbors which did take a dramatic drop after its premiere. On CBS I’m certain Partners could get yanked after tomorrow along with MIJ. On Fox bush bye to Mob Dr & on NBC will likely be AP but I think they’ll hang onto GWK for awhile since it actually gets better numbers after AP.
@Nick
If you ignore The CW (which operates differently from the 4 major networks) then it’s 100%.
I suspect that’s misleading and last season was an outlier. For example, 2010-11 had Better With You, The Event, Outsourced and Law & Order: LA all cancelled and No Ordinary Family had its order reduced to 20. My guess is that typically around 3/4 of shows given full season orders get renewed.
RSH. What are you on? Nikita is in syndication territory noway they are gonna cancel Nikita. Every entertainment site say its a given for a renewal even this site say Nikita is practically guarantee renewed for syndication purpose. You are clearly so out of the loop.
666 will not get cancelled if it can hold these numbers
I so hope Elementary gets cancelled. I really wanted to love that show, but even now a couple of episodes in, when I’m watching it, by halfway thru I realize I’m just looking forward to the end.
It’d be nice if Lost Resort moved to a better timeslot…. Not sure what an earlier poster was implying about Lost Resort needing a suspension of disbelief.
If anything of the slate of dramas that I monitor (basically, all of them–even losers like FlashForward, The Event, and The Firm held my attention to the end) so far this fall the only show that has seriously disappointed me has been Dexter. Dexter had way too much non-believable CSI crap going on last week. That whole read a fingerprint with a smartphone screen was ludicrous (H5O with taking a photo of a dusted print is so much more current tech). There were some other issues with believability with that episode as well.
Oh forgot to add, Robert S… It would be super nice if you bumped some of those front page links to a “hot bookmark” sort of page when they dropped off. Even now, I find myself wanting to pull up the fall premiere dates, since shows like Burn Notice etc are a ways off yet, plus CW hasn’t even started half their slate yet. (I think the whole reason I came here tonight was to verify my TV guide to see if TVD was going to start this week on CW, and I didn’t even get that done.)
ABC should flip flop Last Resort and 666 Park Ave. I think Last Resort might do better at a 10 pm time slot whereas 666 Park Ave might do better earlier.
