Only the Best Acts Will Move Forward to Next Round Airing LIVE

Thursday, November 1 and Sunday, November 4

On Wednesday, Oct. 10 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT), the “Boot Camp” round of The X Factor comes to a dramatic conclusion as the Top 24 acts are chosen and the “Judges’ Homes” round begins. At the start of the “Judges’ Homes” round, each judge is assigned one of the new Season Two categories (to be announced) and the 24 acts find out who their mentors are. The “Judges’ Homes” round continues on Thursday, Oct. 11 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) and Wednesday, Oct. 17 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT). During each episode, the stakes are raised as the acts must perform not only for their judge but also for each category’s superstar guest mentor, including Marc Anthony (who will join Simon Cowell); Justin Bieber and talent manager Scooter Braun (who will accompany L.A. Reid); Nick Jonas (who will pair with Demi Lovato); and will.i.am (who will guest-mentor with Britney Spears).

Which acts have what it takes to convince their judges and guest mentors that they have The X Factor?

After the “Judges’ Homes” round, The X Factor returns with special LIVE episodes Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) and on a special night Sunday, Nov. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live /PT tape-delayed).

Here’s what some of the guest mentors had to say about their experience on The X Factor:

“I am really excited to have the opportunity to mentor THE X FACTOR contestants,” said Marc Anthony. “And I am looking forward to seeing them advance in the show’s new season.”

“When Britney asked me to come help mentor talent in the ‘Judges’ Homes’ round, it was an easy ‘yes,’” said will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. “Some of the talent I’ve seen so far has blown me away – they’re out-of-this-world good.”

“I'm lucky to have some incredible mentors in my life and I've always valued their opinions greatly,” said Nick Jonas, member of the Grammy Award-nominated trio, the Jonas Brothers. “Being able to provide guidance for another artist, while working with the incredibly talented X FACTOR team was an amazing experience. There's some extraordinary talent out there and I couldn't be more thrilled to be a part of their journey.”

So there’s no episode from 18th-31st?

  • Colin

Thats a little bit confusing, isnt there a results show for the Nov 1 episode?

  • Ultima

Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM) Live Two-Hour Episode

I wonder what Plan B is if the Series goes 7. When I saw the schedule without episode names, I assumed this was going to be a recap show due to the hiatus.

I guess they’re playing the odds though – something they haven’t done in the past with the MLB postseason.

So there’s no episode from 18th-31st?

Correct. Last year they aired special Tuesday episodes, but with the debate and election coverage, that’s simply not a realistic option this season.

    Correct.

  • Tyson

    Plan B is a 150-minute episode Nov. 4.

  • Clarkwood

I like that they skip 2 weeks and plan for a Sunday airing ahead of schedule so that the viewers can actually follow along. Last year they did not plan @ all for the playoffs and really messed the schedule around all last minute.

Here’s hoping for no rain delays.

    Tyson, how do they turn a 4hr time (1st and 4th) to 2.5hr (4th) for Plan B?

Colin, why does there need to be a results show for the first airing? Last year the judges themselves held live results that same episode when going from 17-12. I bet that is what is happening this year as well. And, even if not, other shows don’t need results shows. There are many ways to work around that.

  • Katie

Did they really have to add Justin Bieber? Now I honestly don’t really want to watch it because I’m tired of seeing him and he is annoying as hell.

  • Ultima

    @Clarkwood
Last year they did not plan @ all for the playoffs and really messed the schedule around all last minute.

The schedule was screwed up last year because a rain delay bumped an afternoon game into primetime when they had The X Factor scheduled, so they had to schedule a Sunday episode at the last minute.

There’s nothing you can really do about that.

The same thing could potentially happen this year – game 3 of the NLCS is on a Wednesday afternoon before the final pre-live show.

  • Kimmie

Last season, they scheduled around the World Series. Why can’t they do that this season? No shows for two weeks SUCKS, and it’s just very bad for the show all around. It’s also terribly unfair to the contestants to make them take a hiatus in the middle of the competition.

  • Lindsey S

So they only played about 45 min of the 2 hour episode on October 17th which is where we are supposed to find out the final four picks for all the teams. Are they going to make this up? Or do we just have to wait and be surprised on the first love show to see who made it through?

  • Lindsey S

Oops LIVE show not love show haha
