The Good Wife garnered a 1.7, down a tenth from last week's 1.8 adults 18-49 rating and the lowest fall telecast rating ever for the series. Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

@ Steve I doubt if viewers are going to embrace even more reality shows. There’s already a glut of those, cartoons and sports on primetime. In contrast, I count a whopping five Sunday dramas on network television. That’s hardly an overload. Of those, OUAT and Revenge are doing well. It remains to be determined if 666 will catch on. The other two are tedious and predictable procedurals that pass for dramas on network television. In short, the networks owe a few real dramas to those of us who are actually interested in a good story.

  • Ultima

    @Steve
like we were back in the day of water-cooler shows

That’s a creative way of saying “last decade” because it makes it seem like the networks are old and outdated.

They should surrender the Sunday night drama slots to AMC, HBO, and Showtime

Back in the “water-cooler” days, the networks held up just fine against HBO and Showtime. The only difference now is that AMC is also a competitive network – but that is primarily because of The Walking Dead.

Are you suggesting that the broadcast networks give up on a night because of one successful cable show?

  • Mark3

666 is the best show on tv!!! Terry o quinn is amazing once again

  • Petar Ivanov

    @The End who said:
The Walking Dead doesn’t affect most of these shows anyway. The Amazing Race, Once Upon a Time and others didn’t receive a huge loss of viewers.

Yep. That is shocking. Especially when TWD is 9 pm show.

  • Austin

The sunday line up is my favorite, Revenge and 666 do not deserve to get cancelled because these shows have a lot more to offer than last resort and scandal. They may be good shows but the concepts are boring (A submarine that gets betrayed and another law/crime drama?) 666 is such a tease and a mystery that they could do so much with it and revenge just keeps getting better and better, ABC should be smart and notice that NFL probably gave it such low ratings and as posted on here, almost every single tv program has dropped in its premiere since last year and in the second episodes.
I really hope 666 lasts, in my opinion it is the best new drama of the season

  • BigBrotherFan

Damn. I was right one with my predictions for OUAT AND REVENGE

    Sadly 666 Park Avenue, too!

Too bad I like Revenge and Park Ave. :(

  • bluejays

To all those calling for TM to be ended what would they replace it with? Right now CBS only has two ten pm shows getting much over a 2 and Elementary had a huge drop from week one to two so its early to say whether or not it can hold up. Right now CBS at ten is in a lot of trouble and CSI cant air every night.

ABC is doing very badly at ten too.

I’ll be interested to see what Chicago Fire does, it looks good and theres been buzz about it but it wont have a great lead in like Revolution.

  • Austin

Uggh I am so frustrated because 666 really doesn’t deserve to get cancelled!!!! What ABC needs to do is cancel the stupid neighbors show and suburgatory/the middle (or move them)and plop revenge back on wednesdays at 9 and then nashville will follow at 10 (They could have it be like a women of wednesday thingy). That way 666 can be shown at 9 after OUAT and that would definitely help the ratings!

  • Culebra

Sunday night programming has a lot of competition with Boardwalk Empire on HBO, Homeland on Showtime, and a new Upstairs Downstairs on Masterpiece Classic. I know I opted for Boardwalk Empire and Homeland and DVR’d Good Wife,Revenge and The Mentalist. I am sure the previous counter programming affects network television.

Because ABC’s primary goal is to boost the ratings of a freshman drama and not maximize the ratings of their entire lineup?

Your scheduling suggesting is only a step above the DWTS to Saturdays crap.

  • PV

Tomorrow I predict a 0.6 for Gossip Girl, 1,2M viewers. Just like last year’s premiere. But I think it will fall to .4 later

  • Austin

I am so mad, frickin football ruins everything! They need to do something pronto for it or else they will cancel it and I know it deserves a fighting chance!! The show is so EPIC within all ready 2 episodes!!! ABC should keep because they have room for it since either greys anatomy is going to have a final season next year I think and private practice/body of proof are just bound not to last another season! C’mon 666, I am rooting for you!!!!! <3

  • Austin

666 needs to last, the mid seasons are mistresses and red widow…….BORRRRRIIIINNNNNNGGG! I guarantee if one of these two shows replace 666 that they will get much worse ratings because the concepts are dumb!!

  • Jayme

Does anyone really think Revenege will get pulled?

  • terry

666 park avenue is the worst show of the new season; bad writing, terrible acting from the supporting cast, HORRIBLE special effects. This show suppose to be edgy & suspenseful, hahaha. Yeah this show is more of a snoozefest. It isn’t even fun like AMERICAN HORROR STORY. Now that is a HORROR SHOW with creepy moments, GREAT acting, good suspense, good story.

666 avenue can’t even maintain Revenge & OUAT audience. I think this will be the first show canceled. I give it 2 more weeks, if it doesn’t approve than its BYE BYE.

  • TheSearchForSock

Why is anyone still watching ‘Revenge’ live when it’s a dish best served cold? Actually, it’s one meal that’s healthy to skip altogether.

Peter Griffin’s scheme to network 100 Nielsen boxes together was hilarious. Though he had too MUCH faith in that technological terror he created. The ability to destroy a show is insignificant next to the power of the Force!

And I still think the time is right for an animated reality show. I don’t care if it IS a contradiction in terms.

Now move along! These aren’t the sock-puppets you’re looking for!

signature: Reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated.

I am so mad, frickin football ruins everything!

Sunday Night Football was down ~25% from last week, cleary it is not responsible for 666 Park Ave’s ratings dropping from even with the pack last week to in serious trouble this week.

I know it deserves a fighting chance!

Airing on the same night as ABC’s most heavily promoted dramas isn’t a fighting chance?

  • Nick

    @ Joseph

Abc could be disappointed though because the 2nd episode of desperate housewives last year got a 2.9 and that was seen as disappointing- Revenge isn’t pulling in the numbers abc want but they can’t change it around.

That number for DH was dissapointing because it was much lower than the previous season. Revenge is only .1 less than last year’s episode 2.

be interesting to see the 1/4 hour break-downs for the CBS shows, to see how/if starting on the half hour hurt them
