Which New Fall Broadcast TV Show Will Get The NEXT Full Season Order? (Poll)

The Mindy Project ranked third among those polled, far behind a couple of CBS shows, and Ben & Kate was even further behind in our poll for which new show would receive the NEXT full season order, nonetheless they were...

Considering how late CBS typically announces its full season orders, I think voting for CBS shows at this point is jumping the gun, but because considering the collapse of Made In Jersey, and the short life expectancy of Partners they may want to announce a little joy early. As always, your mileage may vary.

Which new Fall broadcast TV show will get the NEXT order for a full season?

For the uninitiated, rookie shows are usually given an order for 13 episodes as an initial commitment, and after a certain level of early success, are typically given an order for an additional 9 episodes to complete a "full" season of 22 episodes (although slight variations from the magic 22 are not uncommon).

These orders typically happen anytime from the start of the broadcast season until about Thanksgiving, but could conceivably go even later than that, for shows that don't premiere next week. The busiest period for these announcements is typically mid to late October.

What's your NEXT guess for this season?

While this poll allows just one answer per person, feel free to expand your choices in the comments.

Bill, is there any way you can get that 45.64% taken off Elementary in the poll?

  • Nick

Elementary will get renewed, and I will have to avoid Tumblr for the entire day that it does. The fanbase for that show is CRAZY!

  • Hadesa

    Guys With Kids

  • Ellen

Mob Doctor, the years #1 new medical drama!

  • Sid

    Elementary for sure.

  • iggy

I think the CW will be impulsive.

“Ben and Kate” and “The Mindy Project” were surprising renewals. Maybe FOX is hoping that they grow over time if given promotion and time for new audiences to watch…

  • Austin

@Ellen The Mob Doctor is the only new medical drama that has premiered at least.

Whoops! Fixed, but caching may leave it there for a bit.

Is it even more surprising to you that they were not renewed? And simply received full season orders?

Arrow, Beauty, Elementary, Nashville, Vegas, Guys with kids, Chicago fire = 22 episodes
Last resort, made in Jersey, The neighbors, Animal practice = 13 episodes
    Mob doctor, 666, M.D, Partners = 8 episodes
    Just my guess

elementary is the next obvious choice.

i can see the CW giving arrow a full season after 2-3 episodes.
hopefully nashville is the major success it’s expected to be.
and crossing fingers for a last resort pick up. unlike 666, this one’s gotten awesome feedback.

After watching the 1st 2 episodes of Elementary I decided to give up on it. It kind of reminds me of the much superior Monk & feel CBS shouldn’t be too quick to give it a full season order. Given any decent competition at 10 I think the show would drop even further. Instead I’m guessing Last Resort despite getting 1.9 last week I hope that ABC sees its potential & will give it a full season soon. My 2nd choice would be Arrow since its CW & it’s their most highly anticipated show this season.

For the time being but unless FOX replaces it on the schedule soon I could actually see Emily Owens outrating it!

But anyways I voted for Arrow, I think it’s gonna premiere big (for the CW) and will get the pickup. Really Elementary is the only other realistic option. Last resort and 666 faultered in there second airings, as did Vegas and the other shows that have already premiered have even worse ratings than those I just listed.

It will be beauty and the beast. Expect big numbers this week and a quick renewal decision.

  • Scifibookguy

I voted for the Dark Horse pick, “Arrow.” I expect it to get great ratings on Wednesday, so good that they’ll give it a full season immediately!

Did I mention I have yet to pick the correct show in these polls? LOL!

  • Splum

Nashville. Saw the first show. It should go over well.

  • Ellen

Wow Austin, can’t believe you caught that!!

  • Dollface

I think Elementary and Arrow will be picked up soon. I’m really hoping for a full season order for Last Resort.

  • Ryan

I would think CBS’ would want to give full season orders to Vegas and Elementary at the same time..but still need time to see how they will do.
