CBS WINS TUESDAY IN VIEWERS AND ADULTS 25-54 FOR THE THIRD CONSECUTIVE WEEK

 

"NCIS" Tops the Night with 18.1 Million Viewers

 

"NCIS: Los Angeles" Sweeps Time Period in Viewers and Key Demos

 

"Vegas" Wins Time Period in Key Measures, Maintaining Last Week's

Adults 18-49 Delivery

 

            CBS won Tuesday in viewers and adults 25-54 for the third consecutive week, led by NCIS, the night's top program in viewers, and time period-winning performances from NCIS: LOS ANGELES and Vegas, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Oct. 9.

 

NCIS was first in households (11.5/18) and viewers (18.10m) and was second in both adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.3/10).

 

NCIS: LOS ANGELES was first in households (9.6/14), viewers (15.10m), adults 25-54 (4.0/09) and adults 18-49 (2.9/08).   NCIS: LOS ANGELES added +190,000 viewers (from 14.91m, +1%) compared to last week.

 

At 10:00 PM, Vegas was first in households (7.8/13), viewers (11.78m) and adults 25-54 (2.8/07), and was tied for first in adults 18-49 (2.0/05, with NBC).  Vegas was even in adults 18-49 compared to last week.

 

For the night, CBS was first in households (9.6/15), viewers (14.99m) and adults 25-54 (3.9/09), and was second in adults 18-49 (2.8/09, -0.1 behind NBC).  CBS won Tuesday in households, viewers and adults 25-54 for the third consecutive week.

    I wonder why CBS doesn’t focus on the 25-54 demo first and foremost the way TNT does. I mean, it’s obvious that CBS is lagging behind in 18-49 so why not turn that into an advantage and focus just on 25-54? It pays off for TNT and it gives them more leeway.
