EMMY AWARD-WINNING REALITY SERIES “Undercover Boss” RETURNS FOR ITS FOURTH SEASON ON FRIDAY, NOV. 2, ON THE CBS TELEVISION NETWORK

Companies Going Undercover This Season Include Modell’s Sporting Goods, Tilted Kilt and Cinnabon Inc.

The fourth season of the Emmy Award-winning reality series Undercover Boss will premiere Friday, Nov. 2 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) as Mitchell B. Modell, CEO of Modell’s Sporting Goods, ventures to the frontlines of his popular sporting goods and athletic apparel store for an unfiltered look into the inner workings of his corporation.

Companies whose bosses have signed up for undercover missions this season include:

  • Modell’s Sporting Goods (Mitchell B. Modell, CEO): As America’s oldest family-owned-and-operated retailer of sporting goods, athletic footwear, active apparel and fan gear, this chain has spanned four generations and expanded to more than 150 store locations throughout the Northeast.
  • Tilted Kilt (Ron Lynch, President):  Founded in 2003, Tilted Kilt is one of the fastest growing restaurant franchises in the nation with 65 restaurants across the U.S. The Celtic-themed sports pub and restaurant features servers wearing sexy tartan outfits.
  • Cinnabon INC. (Kat Cole, President): Cinnabon Inc., now synonymous with the cinnamon roll, is the most recognized sticky, gooey, sweet treat in America. These popular cinnamon rolls can be found in more than 770 franchised baked goods outlets.

The air schedule for the new season of Undercover Boss is as follows:

  • Friday, Nov. 2: Modell’s Sporting Goods (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)
  • Friday, Nov. 9: Tilted Kilt (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)
  • Friday, Nov. 16: Cinnabon INC. (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT)

Additional companies and airdates will be announced at a later date.

With the return of Undercover Boss on Nov. 2, CSI: NY will move to the 9:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT time period beginning this Friday, Oct. 12. Made In Jersey has been pulled from the schedule.

UNDERCOVER BOSS earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reality Program in 2012.  Each week, the series follows a different executive as they leave the comfort of their corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their companies.  While working alongside their employees, they see the effects their decisions have on others, where the problems lie within their organizations and get an up-close look at both the good and the bad while discovering and rewarding the unsung heroes who make their companies run.

UNDERCOVER BOSS is produced by Studio Lambert, Ltd.  Stephen Lambert, Eli Holzman and Chris Carlson are executive producers.

Everyone had it pegged, but still. That was quick.

    @Ralph Hahn
If CBS is that quick on the cancelation button so early in the season, perhaps they will need to get started production of “Unforgettable” before a summer airdate.

Production was scheduled to start in January, I doubt they’ll bump it up (as it is already available for a spring launch and there’s no chance they’ll need it for midseason).

They still have Golden Boy and possibly The Job (not sure if this is Survivor filler or a longer order).

If Vegas doesn’t get a back nine, there’s a reasonable possibility Unforgettable could get a spring premiere (probably on Fridays).

You know…the show that all of you were convinced it would be canceled last May

    It was canceled last May!

“This is Kristoffer Polaha, third show that got canceled.

    CW:
    – Life Unexpected
    – Ringer

    CBS
    – Made In Jersey”

He’s reached the Christian Slater Hall Of Fame!

“Didn’t Partners have a 1.9 in the demo this past week? Seems like it’s bleeding to me.”

Partners had a 1.9 on Monday, down from a 2.1 last week.

::best Monty Python voice:: Bleeding? It’s just a flesh wound!

@Ralph Hahn, let’s not forget that all of this “Unforgettable’s coming back during the season!” talk is still just wild guessing (that I happen to think is quite plausible given the right turn of events). Unless Vegas tanks though, it’s still probably going to air in the summer as announced.

Given the choice of Poppy Montgomery or Janet Montgomery……Hmmmmm

Poppy may be ten years older but it’s a no brainer as far as I’m concerned.

    Maybe they could play twins?

  • Lane

Fox will be third this year whether they cancelled the second show of the season or not.

Nobody will wanna see Nicki Vs. Mariah all season so Idol will be the lowest rated season and The voice is killing Xfactor.

  • Richard

    @dan on page 4.

I hate that when that happens. Like Criminal intent had a 8 episode final season, 5 episodes away from 200. They might as well have had a 13 episode final season so it could end on it’s 200th episode. Or the office will have a 22 episode last season bringing them to 198 episodes. Just go to more, can’t imagine the show getting worse anyway, but you’ll end on 200!

  • Dan

@Bill – Unforgettable won’t be ready until summer. Unfortunately for CBS because with such a light midseason they could’ve used it for spring given how their current new dramas are performing. However airing in the summer may be better because had it aired April to May CBS would likely be forced to cancel it during their upfronts in May something they wouldn’t do if they aired it over the summer

  • Dan

@Richard it sucks but it happens a lot. However two shows this season will end with 100 eps with their.13 episode final.seasons. Fringe and Rules of Engagement

    @Lane
Fox will be third this year whether they cancelled the second show of the season or not.

    People keep saying this.

Are you under the impression that the NFL season lasts until May or do you really think that NBC is going to air The Voice four nights a week during the spring?

Idol will be the lowest rated season

Obviously. That doesn’t mean it won’t easily beat The Voice.

The gap between FOX and NBC last season was massive. Adjusting for the NFL postseason rotation, it was effectively FOX 3.1 and NBC 2.2.

  • aiden

Am I the only one who likes this show, I am sad that its cancelled

  • gary

    Wasn’t a bad show.

He’s reached the Christian Slater Hall Of Fame!

    …and then some!

He was on North Shore on Fox years ago and some comedy on ABC a year after that. Next season he needs to be on a 1 season show on NBC and he’ll have been on all the broadcast nets at least once.

I keep hoping CBS brings back CSI Miami. Maybe ION TV will.

  • Eric_Philly

Is that the first official cancellation? Congratulations! … And condolences.

  • Justin121

Next cancellation: Mob Doc (easy one)

    One after: Animal Practice

One after: Partners, if it continues sub-2.0s.

One after: Up All Night, if it dips below 1.0.

    One after: Last Resort.

666 Park Avenue, Vegas, Chicago Fire, The Neighbors, won’t last beyond the fall season.

PS, for 10 pm, 1.7 is the new 2.0.

  • Justin121

IF Idol dips 20-30% again this year, and IF The Voice maintains its Fall ratings through Spring, does NBC have a shot at beating FOX?

  • Networkman

I’m proud of CBS for quickly making this decision before things got worse for them on Friday. Grimm will have competition with CSI:NY moving back to 9pm. Repeats of NCIS will definately do better than Made in Jersey.

  • Dan

CBS need to cancel Partners. It’s totally dragging down the whole Monday line up. I’m thinking rules to the rescue once again.
