Parenthood is totally awesome this season, very well deserved rise in the ratings. NBC are on great form at the moment, looks like they’ll win the first half of the season quite convincingly!
Brandy so tell me why are all shows so low on fridays if there is no competition that day. I say people not watching tv like usually most people do is big a huge deal maybe not to you but its a reason fridays is called death slot.
Also with the way all these shows on ABC do at 10pm i really think 666 is still very much in the game. That is of course if it does not fall anymore.
Nice to see that Parenthood bump!
The New Normal wasn’t adjusted down, right? Bill said he checked the numbers again and it definately showed a 2.0 for TNN.
Others sites are reporting that for the Finals “The New Normal” rated:
The New Normal (NBC)
HH/ Share 3.1/5
Viewers 4.859M
18-49 1.9/5
24-55 2.4/5
NBC’s press release has The New Normal as a 2.0 so that’s probably right.
As stated earlier, the report we get definitely said a 2.0 for THE NEW NORMAL. My guess is that for whatever reason the other report truncated decimals past tenths rather than rounding to the nearest tenth, but that’s just a guess. Also, as Rob notes the updated NBC press notes based on the finals also say a 2.0:
* At 9:31-10 p.m. ET, “The New Normal” (2.0/5 in 18-49, 4.9 million in total viewers) is up week to week by 18 percent in 18-49 rating (2.0 vs. 1.7) and 8 percent in total viewers (4.859 million vs. 4.498 million). .
* At 10 p.m. ET, “Parenthood” (2.0/5 in 18-49, 5.0 million in total viewers) is tied for #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49, equaling CBS’s “Vegas” (after trailing that show by 0.4 of a point one week ago and by 0.7 of a point two weeks ago). “Parenthood” led the hour outright among those networks in adults 18-34, women 18-34 and women 18-49.
@Mike
Arrow: 2.0
The CW’s high mark last season was only a 1.6.
So, two days after Fox issues a press release proclaiming The Mindy Project is “the No. 1 new comedy among adults 18-34,” The New Normal beats it in that exact demo.
Heh.
It’s only the second episode. We’ll have to wait and see if Dixie won’t survive. My bet is that it will survive, because other shows will do worse. Like 90210, premiered so badly and is more expensive to produce. I also expect Emily Owens to be a major flop and Beauty and the beat to follow Secret Circle’s footsteps. That way, HoD can still survive, because CW can’t afford to cancel more than 3 shows. Also, Cult will premiere on monday, right? So I think 90210 will drag it down.
Cult does not have a timeslot yet. Carrie Diaries is suppose to be on Mondays.
How is it that if “Arrow” gets 0.8 or 1.0 its considered GREAT when every other show on other networks are clearly higher? I’m honestly just wondering because I don’t know much about this and I’m new. If Arrow gets that how is it saving the CW? thanks
Go On seems exactly like the type of show that is lead on dependent and can pop a big rating and just as likely pop a terrible one. One week at 2.2 one week at 2.8 one week 2.4 one week 3.0. It’ll be very erratic and that is perfect following the Voice. The nights everything clicks NBC will dominate.
Is this website a shill for NBC? How is Go On a hit show? It has the Voice as a lead in. New Girl has Ben and Kate. Game over.
NBC needs multi-cams post-Voice.
Multi-cams is how you rebuild the network (sure beats the Guys with Kids/Animal Practice pairing).

@lou
Maybe so, but New Girl also started its premiere season with Glee as a lead in, very popular with the target demo. And after the initial buzz faded, saw its own numbers lower. So I see no difference. If Go On gets to S2 and then has a crappy lead in like New Girl *now* has, talk to me.
@ICBBsFuture
only The Vampire diaries gets 1.0 and up ratings, everything else is lower. 0.8 to 1.0+ ratings for Arrow wouldn’t save the CW but it would be a big help.
@ICBBsFuture
…the CW is on it’s own very low level, comparing it to other broadcast networks just isn’t reasonable.
