THR is reporting that NBC will air the pilot for Munsters update Mockingbird Lane as a Halloween special on Friday, October 26 before Grimm. No announcement has been made as to whether any more episodes have been or will be produced.

I think more pilots should be aired as specials. At least you have the chance to make some money and in some cases they might find something viewers respond to.

My sister said she saw filming of ML while on Universal Studious Tour a few weeks ago.

Interesting way to test out a pilot. I’ll watch.

they used to show unsold pilots about 30 years ago , they dont anymore . would love to see the wonder woman pilot they filmed a year or so back.

I can’t wait to watch this. My gut tells me this pilot once dead at NBC will be resurrected and will get ordered to series shortly after the premiere/special.

The Wonder Woman pilot actually leaked, I think there may still be a few links still available.

Interesting! I’d definitely DVR it and watch it. I wish we could watch more pilots that don’t make it to series.

and I think I’ve heard that this pilot isn’t going further, so maybe NBC has decided to test it out and decide to go through with it or not based on viewers response.

That’s great news. At the very least we’ll get to see it. Maybe NBC hopes this will be like a TV movie backdoor pilot kind of deal. Hope it does well enough for NBC to pick it up.

And I’d love to see the Wonder Woman pilot!

Well halloween is a good time for this type of show.

Isnt this completly dead? And airing this on a friday definitley seals its fate.

I remember watching the original a few times and it was pretty good. I definitely don’t think this reboot/re-imagination will be able to capture the same charisma the original cast had.

Personally, I will tune in to test the waters, but Friday is a poorly planned day and it’s going to premiere extremely low. I get testing on Friday because it’s a special and most likely isn’t going to be picked up. But if you want a viewers response, why not air it another day? Perhaps Wednesday night @ 8 PM (10/24 or 10/31) in the time slot of Animal Practice or maybe on Tuesday night @ 9:30 (10/23 or 10/30) in the time slot of The New Normal since both shows have relatively low ratings.

I am definitely tuning in. I am really excited for it. I hope it does well, but I am kind of surprised it will air on a Friday. I think NBC should air it Tuesday October 30 after the Voice. It would give it a better chance to succeed. NBC could of done like a pre-Halloween night special with Mockingbird Lane airing at 9 and a new episode of Grimm airing at 10. Maybe they will reconsider it before then? They have another two weeks.

(Not to mention it would give Go On, The New Normal, and Parenthood a much needed break as they have been running non-stop since the second week of September.)

Eddie Izzard is awesome, it should be decent. This show has been off schedule from the very start so it’s no surprise they’re giving it an odd premiere. I’m glad it’s not “Hannibal” that show looks terrible….although I like Hugh Dancy.

TV#1, the Tuesday 9-11 lineup will get a break Tuesday (presidential debate) and Nov. 6 (election coverage).

Networks should air unsold pilots in the summer like they used to. Remember, that’s how we got “Seinfield” which was originally “The Seinfield Chronicles.”

As Jack mentioned, there are copies of this in the wild, seek and ye shall find. I liked the WW pilot although as I mentioned here back when I first saw it, I think it wasn’t picked up since it had “adult” language (anyone who has spent time on a playground with 8~12 year olds knows “adult” isn’t just for adults anymore) as well as a less than neutral political point of view.
