    “The CW is certainly dropping in ratings but not quite as fast as the other networks”

    How’d you figure that? Comparing this year’s CW average to last season so far is nonsense because of their late start date.

    As for other recent seasons, when there were apples/apples comparisons (i.e. seasons where the CW didn’t drop Sunday) CW declines have typically been worse (on a % basis) than the “big 4″.

    Here were the changes from 2010-11 to 2011-12 in adults 18-49 ratings.

    ABC -1%
    CBS +3%
    NBC +7%
    Fox -9%
    CW -16%

    What were you saying again?

    @For those rooting against it, do yourself a favor and watch an episode or two! I bet you change your tune!

    You’re joking right? This show was slated by pretty much every critic that watched the pilot, many people who watched the pilot hated it, the general opinion from watching the show from people seems be negative. Granted there will be some out there who love the show and who are we to judge, but to think people who dislike the show haven’t seen it is rather naive and ridiculus.

    Its really really making me pissed off that people are saying Nashville had low ratings. It didn’t drop one iota from its overnights. Lets remember the shows that aired before Revenge had success in the timeslot. We had Eyes, Witches of Eastwick, Dirty Sexy Money which fumbled after 2 seasons and that awful Shonda Rhimes show I can’t even remember it was some medical show. They all flopped badly. Revenge was a complete surprise. In fact everyone had Revenge the critics listed it as the first show cancelled, even posters on this board and other boards said Revenge was DEAD even before it aired. Everyone was wrong about Revenge. Nashville had higher ratigns than any of those failed shows. Give me a break people.

    Also on the X Factor front it has stayed consistant through its entire second season. It didn’t have the hoopla the first season had or Saula reunion. Its doing very well demo wise and in its young demos like teens 12 to 17 and 18 to 34 very good numbers. The X Factor is the highest rated FOX Fall show. U better believe it will be renewed for season 3. I am just surprised FOX hasn’t officially renewed yet for another season. Without it the entire network would be dead.

    The Neighbors isn’t going to last beyond this season. Pulling a 2.0 now doesn’t leave it much room in the spring but it will last longer than most predicted it would.

    Nah, it actually isnt. Its actually quite on point.

    Also, its spelt ‘ridiculous’.

    The Neighbors! Such a hilarious show.

    @SPM

    There is nothing delusional about congratulating a show that has been reviewed well, already, for having an excellent series premiere. Since shows are not likely to improve on their series premieres, this is a major first hurdle for them, one that Arrow has cleared with plenty of room to spare.

    Whether it will pass the next test (getting to the spring with decent ratings) remains to be seen, but that doesn’t change the fact that the show premiered as well as the network could realistically have hoped. And it proved that there is an audience out there for new CW shows if the network can find something they like and promote it well.

    Keep in mind that advertisers pay by the episode, so even if the show tanks later, somebody got their money’s worth last night.

    I’m sort of shocked that Nashville wasn’t downgraded.

    Either way, I don’t know which way it will go. We will have to see next week for sure. I won’t get my hopes up just yet since Pan Am debuted at 3.1 and we all saw where that one went.

    Where are the retention rate stans?

    @Nah, it actually isnt. Its actually quite on point.

    And what point would that be exactly? I’m still going with naive. I know it must be upsetting to see people disliking a show that you personally love but sad fact is, people gave the show a chance, by either watching the pilot, or by watching the first 2 episodes before dropping it.

    @Also, its spelt ‘ridiculous’.

    Mistake number two. Assuming someone is unable to spell something because they made a simple mistake in their comment towards you.

  • allen 21

    Guys with Kids is probably the biggest surprise to me out of the new shows I didn’t think I was going to like this show but I gave it a chance and its actually pretty good. Jimmy Fallon did a good job with this show.

    It only makes sense to put Whitney with it.

  • Michael

    How long, before Mark Pedowitz renews Arrow for an entire full season? Lol!

  • Neil

    Plan 9 Episodes from Outer Space for The Neighbors/Neighbours.

  • Tessa

    @Fake Me Out

    Lol,”fugitive from the pound” made me laugh. It could also be the better promotion CW is giving it this season, and I hesitate to say it because I have no proof but a new showrunner coming on board might have an effect to as some of the fans who’d left in the last two seasons might be coming back to see if they like the new direction better.

  • jake

    Arrow was amazing! It felt like Smallville but darker, and since I love that show, I’ll keep watching.

    “Mistake number two. Assuming someone is unable to spell something because they made a simple mistake in their comment towards you.”

    Oh good. So you can spell. *phew* I was really worried.

  • forg

    The Neighbors will likely go the same route of Better With You as long as it doesn’t go below 2.0

    I was hoping The Middle adjustment to 2.5 ;(

  • Pepper

    Congrats CW! I think SPN will be down to 0.9 next week, but that’s still good for the CW!

  • The End

    @Leoben Conoy

    Interesting the way you keep attacking my spelling, instead of addressing the points aimed at you. The only rebutal you’ve made thus far is the fact I missed out an ‘o’ in ridiculous.

    Must say. I’m rather dissapointed, certainly not the brightest fanboy on here. When you learn how to discuss something with people, let me know.

    Nice talking with you champ.

    I expect Arrow will be picked up for a full season within two weeks.

  • Ben Thompson

    I never thought The CW would crack 4 million viewers again. Great start for Arrow, too bad it didn’t adjust up.

    ABC is probably disappointed with Nashville. I thought it would at least crack a 3.0. Surprised Neighbors hasn’t collapsed yet.

    NBC was fifth in the 8pm hour :D
