    @ John A

Facebook doesn’t matter? are you living in the 21st century or the 20th?

    @ Brandy

Yawn, always labelled a troll if you don’t agree with your opinion.

  • jamie

Poor Gossip Girl and 90210 fans. This week has to be so embarrassing for them with their shows’ ratings.

  • Michael

“Up All Night” can’t possibly survive with those abysmal numbers next year, right?

  • John_M

Facebook doesn’t matter? are you living in the 21st century or the 20th?

I have to ask how old you are, because in the real world facebook doesn’t matter, hell that’s why it’s IPO flopped, it doesn’t matter, not in the long run, it’s a place obsessed fans can gather, but it has no impact on things that matter, like ratings…advertising, or whether a show really stays on the air or not, no matter what PR people say.

Facebook will be gone in about 5 years…

  • Chris

Surprised there was no adjustment for The X Factor since FOX was preempted in Nashville for TNF.

    @SPM

In what way do Facebook help a show’s renewal prospects, ratings help the show! Also that’s an invalid comment because obviously John A is not living in the 20th century because it is 2012.

@John_M, with one billion users, declaring Facebook merely to be the bastion of crazed fans is silly, IPO fizzle or not.

    @ John_M

I was going to respond to you with a detailed reply but as soon as I read facebook will be gone in five years I decided not to. You are clearly delusional and living in a fantasy world.

  • Tessa

Happy for CW. I was worried the numbers would crash; glad they didn’t. There’s no longer any reason to sing the song of doom and gloom for the netlet. It just needs to load itself up with genre shows and it’d be good to go.

    @John_M who typed:

“People who can’t admit when they’re wrong are people who aren’t useful in my opinion. You can’t learn if you can’t admit you’re wrong.”

I think that is an excellent point but it seems a difficult one for you to make when your first response to the CW not having significant downward adjustments was:

“So no one in Pittsburgh, between the ages of 18-49, watched the NFL on their CW affiliate?
    That smells fishy to me.”

Followed later by the sudden realization that:

“(Steelers fans) just went to a bar to watch the game in High Def on NFL Network and get drunk with other steeler fans….”

You were wrong about the adjustments right? Just to be clear, because I missed where you mentioned that. But I did catch you jumping right down someone’s word/spelling mistake pretty quick.

    @ Robert Seidman

Amen, i was actually baffled by what he wrote there he clearly doesn’t live in the real world.

  • alexjones

still great ratings got BATB, was expecting a bigger adjustment that that. and no adjustment for TVD good to see that show is still going strong at least.

  • bsp

BBT is pretty dull so far this season. The story lines seem to be in a holding pattern… Penny STILL doesn’t know how she feels about Leonard… Howard can’t get down from the space station, etc. Curious. I guess when you have your renewal in hand, you can take your own sweet time!

    @ Michael

UAN probably won’t make it to Jan with those numbers

  • SPM

    @ alexjones

The BIG adjustment down is coming don’t worry.

@John_M, with one billion users, declaring Facebook merely to be the bastion of crazed fans is silly.

I forgot I have to spell things out here – I was referring to the discussion regarding a cancelled show’s facebook page mattering.

Myspace used to have a lot of users too – but monetization turned out to be a problem and thus myspace faded away. FB hasn’t figured out how to monetize (sorry folks – you can’t build a successful long term internet business model PURELY on advertising that’s been shown time and time again), which is why it’s IPO was a disaster with a ridiculous valuation and why the stock is so depressed compared to its issue price. I was in the stock market during the first internet bubble, Facebook is part of the second (yet smaller) bubble and is inevitably doomed because monetizing things like that are proving almost impossible at this time…it’s kind of the same argument people use for DVR viewing…nielsen isn’t doing it right because the DVR numbers aren’t being used, the person seemed to indicated that because a show had a vibrant facebook page, it somehow should matter to the show.

I mean if ‘fan presence’ online had impact – firefly would still be on the air :)

Beauty And The Beast was Great

  • a p garcia

1.2 is still darn good for BaTB.

STEELER FANS don’t have to go the a bar to watch HiDef TV & get drunk with other Steeler fans.
