TELEMUNDO’S BROADCAST OF GUYANA VS. MEXICO “RUMBO AL MUNDIAL” SOCCER MATCH RANKS #1 IN SPANISH-LANGUAGE TV AMONG MEN 18-49 AND DELIVERS 2.1 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS
“Rumbo al Mundial” Ranked #1 Among Adults 18-49 Regardless of Language in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston
MIAMI – October 15, 2012 – Telemundo’s “Rumbo al Mundial” Soccer World Cup Qualifier between Guyana and Mexico (Friday, October 12 at 8:50 PM ET) delivered 2.1 million total viewers and became the #1 program on Spanish-language TV on Friday night among men 18-49 (826,000) and men 18-34 (375,000), according to Nielsen. Presented by internationally-acclaimed sportscaster Andrés Cantor and soccer expert Sammy Sadovnik, the game delivered a cumulative audience of more than 4.4 million total viewers.
The qualifying match ranked #1 among adults 18-49 across all stations in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Houston, regardless of language. The match delivered shares in Spanish-language television of 51% in Los Angeles, 53% in Houston, 54% in San Francisco and 47% in Phoenix, and was #1 among all Spanish language networks in Phoenix, out-performing Univision.
