Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    What happened to OUAT is….football & baseball! IMO, the numbers are pretty good considering they had to go up against both at the same hour

    Did the NLCS score higher than the Fox animated shows last week?

  • Derek

    I was expecting Revenge to get mutilated by the Walking Dead last night. Surprised it held up. I sure hope that doesn’t mean the numbers for Walking Dead won’t be very impressive.

  • eridapo

    I think these ratings sort of prove, that Revenge doesn’t really benefit from the lead in of OUAT. Like, OUAT fell by 0.4, but Revenge rose by 0.1 compared to last week. It was the same last year, when OUAT was getting mid to high 3?s. and DH pulled high 2?s, but when OUAT fell in the spring to high 2?s, DH remained steady.

    Maybe it says something more about the slot and the competition than it does of Revenge. Maybe people don’t have anything else to tune into at that time. If you don’t like Football or Fox’s animation block, you only have CBS or ABC. Cable is an option, but the people who watch TWD would never watch TGW or Revenge to begin with…

  • Tessa

    Lol, at that picture. I’m guessing it’s from OUAT, whatever is going on in that show. Did those two raid a Halloween store and came up with completely unrelated costumes? :mrgreen:

    I’m glad Revenge is up a little although I wished they knew what they were doing with the mythology. It’s gotten like True Blood season 3. Too many parallel stories happening at the same time and at points clashing instead of weaving together. I wished they’d already drop Jack and Declan. They’re dead weights at this point.

    I think I’m going to DVR both Dexter and The Walking Dead and let them run their course before I watch the whole season at once. I’m tired of waiting a whole week between episodes and I’ve got too many shows that are like that.

  • Simon

    Even with that drop, OUAT is far from cancellation territory. Remember it also dropped last week and was adjusted up a tenth so the same thing could happen with this ep.

    @eridapo
    Some pepplehere write from weeks that baseball is cold this year. Who nows for next year.

  • Daw Johnson

    @John_M

    But that’s a problem. If baseball hadn’t fallen from grace, even the smaller-market teams would be able to draw decent ratings for the freaking playoff SEMIFINALS.

    There are specific NFL and NBA teams that draw big numbers, but it doesn’t mean a Jaguars-Chiefs AFC Championship wouldn’t still do tens of millions of viewers on network TV.

  • Ricardo

    I don’t live in the US, so can someone tell me why people aren’t tuning in to watch 666 Park Avenue. Is it lack of promotion? Because i watch it here and i find it very good. I don’t understand it at all…

  • Petar Ivanov

    sorry. I mean

    @eridapo
    Some people here write from weeks that baseball is cold this year. Who nows for next year.

  • svpike

    @Joshua hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah funnest thing i have ever heard!!!

  • s0303

    @ eridap…incorrect…i watch the good wife and the walking dead…some people like a little variety in their life :)

  • John_M

    Lol, at that picture. I’m guessing it’s from OUAT, whatever is going on in that show. Did those two raid a Halloween store and came up with completely unrelated costumes?

    Well since you don’t watch the show, maybe that question is foolish? It’s perfectly acceptable with in the mythology of the show. For one whining about the ‘mythology’ on Revenge (which as usual on a high concept show that isn’t scoped out well is getting confusing and muddled – that’s what you get for not having a plan past season one)

  • SG

    666 Park Avenue is so good, wish more people watched!

  • r0ckmypants

    @KansasGuest – So did Revenge, and that went UP, soooo….

  • HT

    ABC need to move Modern Family to Sunday night at 10pm – some humor after 2 hours of drama. They need to run the full season of Revenge, put Nasvhille on hold, then bring it back as a mid-season replacement. Nashville has star power – I’m no Country fan, but this show is good. I’ve not seen a pilot this good on network tv since Desperate Houswives. @ Max and all other network people, I know, I know Disney ABC can’t afford it (lol, yeah right), but it would secure a very strong Sunday night for ABC, which would guarantee a strong Monday for GMA. The networks need to ditch their management and shake things up if they want to survive.

  • Phill

    yay revenge!! what an amazing show!!… whats happening to OUAT ?

  • John_M

    But that’s a problem. If baseball hadn’t fallen from grace, even the smaller-market teams would be able to draw decent ratings for the freaking playoff SEMIFINALS.

    There are specific NFL and NBA teams that draw big numbers, but it doesn’t mean a Jaguars-Chiefs AFC Championship wouldn’t still do tens of millions of viewers on network TV.

    People like blood, people like gladitorial sports, people like violence – and the AFC CHampionship game is single elimination – if it were best of 3 – and it was jaguars chiefs, its numbers might be down.

    I’m a baseball fan, a basketball fan, and a football fan, but since i despise every team in the playoffs currently i can’t root for them all to lose

  • iMember

    @eridapo I watch The Walking Dead AND Revenge. It’s very possible to be into both shows regardless of how different they are.

  • THE OLD MAN

    @ Ricardo

    666 Park Ave is not American Horror Story (ie) scary

  • Holly

    With sports on NBC and FOX and substantial overrun on CBS, ABC’s the only net worth commenting on…

    A 3.0 for Once isn’t bad by any stretch, but the ratings need to level out. Continued drops like we’ve seen the last couple of weeks could make it vulnerable.

    Revenge is doing fine. There was no reason to think it would stay in the 3s so upper 2s are probably what ABC was expecting.

    666, on the other hand, is looking like bear food.
