Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

ABC need to move Modern Family to Sunday night at 10pm

Why do they need to do that? That might be one of the most ludicrous suggestions in the past month or so

  • DW

why would you switch the mentalist with the good wife? the numbers are better at 10 when your up against less competition. makes no sense.

  • rob60990

“ABC need to move Modern Family to Sunday night at 10pm”

    lmao. I can’t, just can’t.

  • Tessa

    @eridapo

the people who watch TWD would never watch TGW or Revenge to begin with…

Really? Because I watch both Revenge and TWD. I must be part of a special group.

  • Percysowner

Oh MAX, Oh MAX, Oh MAX Revenge went UP from last week. Sadly OUAT went down. However that makes Revenge going up that much more impressive.

  • Tessa

ABC need to move Modern Family to Sunday night at 10pm.

I know, right? And while we’re at it NBC should move The Voice to Fridays.

  • riley

well I liked OUAT last night! and The Mentalist was good too!

  • Rob

@eridapo I watch Revenge, The Good Wife, and The Walking Dead.

  • were123

    @eridapo
Well I watch The Walking Dead, The Good Wife and Revenge, but I watch Revenge live and the other two I DVR

  • John_M

    And apropos of nothing
    I watched Nashville last night
Callie Khouri is still a friggin genius

  • eridapo

    @ iMember

as in all things, there are a few exceptions. ;)

  • s0303

@eridap…seems like there are already 5 exceptions :)

  • Errol Lewis

While Revenge did start at 9:00 PM, it was a late 9:00 PM start. My DVR was supposed to start recording Revenge at 9:00 PM, but for some reason when the clock on the DVR said 9:00 PM it still listed Once Upon a Time as the show currently on and the end credits of Once Upon a Time were still rolling with Revenge listed as starting in 21 seconds per ABC’s countdown clock.

  • DW

i watched the walking dead then OUAT and TGW all in that order nice to live on the west coast and get amc hd early.

  • Ricardo

    @ THE OLD MAN

People don’t find it scary? Is that it?

  • John_M

@eridap…seems like there are already 5 exceptions :)

And yet none of those exceptions likely have ratings impact

  • eridapo

    @ DW

The Mentalist already has a core audience that will follow the show to 9PM. The move to 9PM will get back the casual viewers they lost when they move from 9PM to 10PM back over a year ago.

    I see TM @ 9PM doing a 2.5.

  • Shawn

Yay for REVENGE!! I thought last night was one of the best episodes EVER of that show!!! I hope it stays right around that 2.6 or 2.7 mark…those are solid numbers!!!

  • cynthia

    Happy for The Mentalist!

  • Sherri

666 Park Ave. is so good, I can’t believe it is on Sunday against Football, who does that with a new show. I hope it gets moved to have a chance, DVR replay are excellent though.
