Super Bowl XLVII HALFTIME SHOW ON CBS

Global music icon and 16-time Grammy-Award winner BEYONCÉ will perform in the PEPSI Super Bowl XLVII HALFTIME SHOW on CBS at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Sunday, February 3, 2013, the NFL and CBS announced today.

The Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show is the most-watched musical event of the year. More than 112.5 million viewers in the U.S. watched last year’s show. The Super Bowl and halftime show will be broadcast worldwide.

Beyoncé joins an esteemed list of recent halftime acts that includes Madonna, The Black Eyed Peas, The Who, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Prince, the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney and U2.

PepsiCo continues to leverage its diverse multi-brand portfolio – including Pepsi, Frito-Lay, Gatorade, Quaker and Tropicana - with the NFL to connect with fans and enhance their NFL experience. This year, Pepsi returns as the title sponsor of the Super Bowl Halftime Show bringing the brand’s Live for Now mind-set and one-of-a-kind consumer engagement platforms to provide fans a halftime experience worthy of pop-culture’s biggest stage.

The PEPSI SUPER BOWL XLVII HALFTIME SHOW is an NFL NETWORK PRODUCTION and will be executive produced by RICKY KIRSHNER and directed by HAMISH HAMILTON.

Hopefully it will be better than Madonna last year.

  • adanskiiiii

She won’t beat Madonna. Madonna’s halftime had more viewers than the game itself.

  • Chuck Finley (AJ)

    Yawn.

  • Jesse

Finally they got someone that’s relevant. Tired of the has beens like Madonna(who can’t sing) or the Who. I was like who the hell is the Who? Beyonce can sing and dance her butt off. Great choice!

  • David

Well, she is one of the biggest stars in the world so it makes sense. I am just happy that they stopped forcing people to watch old rock bands do the halftime show because of Janet’s incident. I would’ve loved to have Mariah, but at least it isn’t Gaga because she hasn’t put in the years of work that Beyonce has to show that she has staying power worldwide.

  • Kaylie

    Im soooooo happy!!! Yes :)
She definetly worked her butt off for years.

  • john

    good choice

  • Jon

I bet she finds a way to involve her baby.

  • John

Destiny’s Child surprise reunion???? At least for one song!

  • RJ

    Can I puke?

  • ABCFanatic2012

    Good for her!

  • I like this show

Another half time show I won’t watch.

@Jesse the Who is a actual talented band I am not surprised you don’t recognize good musical talent since you are a apparently a Beyonce fan.

I guess this means that 2BG will get the post-SB slot now. ;-)

Last year’s act was a female who has enjoyed mega acclaim and reverence (for her music, what she’s done in her work, etc.) since debuting in 1982. And she as a no-brainer first-year inductee into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She’s not called Her Madgesty for nothing. :)

Beyonce is a good choice, as she’s one of the best performers to emerge since she hit it big.

Madonna’s 15-minute show last year attracted nearly 116 million viewers (8-8:15)- how will Queen B.’s fare?

  • LT

@JR Sorry to break the news to you buddy but half the people that watch the superbowl don’t watch the halftime show. That’s the time to go to the bathroom to take a dump. Or get something to eat. The ratings stay the same becuase nobody changes the channel. This is the norm during the superbowl all across the U.S.

  • Mirianda

Dis 2013 superbowl wil b greater, coz beyonce is d right choice.
