THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” GAINS MORE THAN HALF A MILLION VIEWERS COMPARED TO THE SAME WEEK LAST YEAR

THE “CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY” IS ALSO THE ONLY NETWORK EVENING NEWS BROADCAST TO POST YEAR-TO-YEAR RATINGS GAINS, UP +11% IN HOUSEHOLDS, +10% IN VIEWERS AND +15% IN ADULTS 25-54 COMPARED TO THE SAME WEEK LAST YEAR

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY finished second in the key news demographic of adults 25-54 (1.5/06, tied with ABC), according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Oct. 12, 2012.

In adults 25-54, the CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY finished just 0.2 rating points behind first-place NBC, the closest the CBS broadcast has been to first place since the week of March 19, 2007.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY gained more than half a million viewers (+566,000) compared to the same week last year.

The CBS EVENING NEWS WITH SCOTT PELLEY was also the only network evening news broadcast to post year-to-year ratings gains among households (4.2/08 from 3.8/07, +11%), viewers (6.05m from 5.49m, +10%) and adults 25-54 (1.5/06 from 1.3/05, +15%) compared to the same week last year.
