   @RyanCanada, those numbers ARE normal for the show. Unfortunately they’re probably also too low. Probably needs at least an 0.5 average or preferably 0.6 on Syfy. 0.4 is a bit low for a major cable channel.

   Alphas is great and thoughtful and I’ll be sad to see it go. I hope next week’s finale wraps things up.

   At least some of its writers had one show that made it to seven seasons — Star Trek: DS9!

   That’s weird, the game was awesome with the epic comeback in the 2nd half.

   I just dont see what all the talk about Alphas being such a great show.
   I think it still stinks. I t is a bit better than season 1 which really had no story arc and was all over the place each week story wise. so yes this year the shoe actually has a story arch to it, but I think the show is just BORING ! Add the fact that it is on SyFy and what you get is a poorly performing show !

   I dont see how SyFy could possibly order a 3rd season of the show.

   In contrast, I say Alphas has some of the best writing, best acting, best directing, most plausible plots (although the current Parrish threat seems a bit implausible to me and is somewhat glossed over in terms of being specific as what it actually IS), and most engaging characters of any REAL sci-fi show on the air.

   The episode this week was taut and has gotten positive reviews, even the torture scenes were described as well handled. The transformation of Rosen from a compassionate psychologist to a revenge-obsessed father has been striking and well played by David Strathairn.

   Anyone who thinks season one didn’t have an overall story arc simply wasn’t paying attention. This season the show has been more serial, however, that is true, building on the conflict begun in season one.

   I tend to agree with those who say the problem is the show is on SyFy – a niche market that the general audience simply doesn’t view due to its idiotic “reality shows” and incredibly stupid movies. And the rest of what it calls “sci-fi” is actually fantasy.

   Apparently there are few “sci-fi fans” who can handle real plausible sci-fi as opposed to nonsensical comedies like Warehouse 13 and Eureka.

   Watched season 1 of Alphas and though it was pretty dull until the end of the season. Tuned in for the new season and boring started up all over again. Half the characters are unlikable. I’ll take another season of Eureka, WH 13 or Haven over this anyday.

   I loved the first season of Alphas, but HATE the second season. i have no idea why they changed so much, but they took the show in a totally different direction.

   Warehouse 13 makes no sense to me. Is it supposed to be funny, or what? In any case, its irritating.

   @ Richard Steven Hack; Thats exactly my problem with Alphas. I liked season one. But they are most definitely NOT building on the conflict built in season one. In season one they were all concerned that the government was putting alphas in building seven and planting a chip in their brain, and Rosen risked his career and freedom to expose what the government was doing. In season 2, they decided they no longer care how the government treats alphas, they just want to make sure that this Parrish guy doesn’t hurt any humans. This makes so little sense, I just don’t get it. First of all, the team of Alphas simply don’t mind killing others of their own kind because the government, who they know is corrupt, tells them to? Wouldn’t they be at least a little sympathetic to Parrish? And what the heck was that with Danni? Was Parrish really supposed to stop his plans because he didn’t want to hurt a woman that just recently betrayed him? And why did Danni risk her life just to make sure there was no electrical brown out? I doubt it would have killed all that many people. Possibly none. And why did Danni decide to risk her life like that? She believed in what Parrish was doing until she got caught. NOTHING in that show makes any sense at all!!!!
   The show completely forgot about season one, and everyone had a personality change for no obvious reason.
   I liked season one. I simply have no idea why they decided to do a 180. There is no in story explanation for why they now want to help the government stop any Alpha uprising. And why are we even seeing Dr Rosen as a good guy? He manipulates these broken but talented people into thinking that they shouldn’t use their abilities for their own enrichment, but only to help non alpha humans. Is that even right? Hicks should play sports. Nina should run a diet center or a stop smoking clinic. Or something. Why should they risk their lives to help hunt others like them. Besides, it makes Parrish seem to have a good point. That humans are just going to exploit alphas or put them away in jail like a useful but dangerous tool. Even if the show let the audience see it as shades of grey, it might work. But no. They play evil sounding music whenever Parrish is on screen, and try to tear jerk us into seeing him as a bad guy, when he has a good point, and really is just doing what any person who withstands prejudice of that kind would do.
   Sorry to be so lengthy. But the change in the two seasons has just left me smack dabbed. And I am not alone. I watched the season one with a few friends, and NONE OF US GET THE CHANGE!
