H50 is great this season – tough ratings CBS overall this early season.

  • Alyssa

I am not surprised Revolution crashes the competition. JJ Abrams and the rest of the team are doing an excellent job , the flashbacks, the characters….
    Go NBC !!

“Hey all you Partners haters. Why in the world would a network cancel a show who’s ratings are on the rise and is the top rated new comedy in the desired 18-49 demo? It’s pulling in better numbers than New Normal, Mindy Project, Ben&Kate, Guys with Kids, Animal Practice, etc. It can not be held to the same standard as returning hits, HIMYM and 2BG, especially when it competes with kickoff of MNF. Positive word of mouth on the show has been blowing up social media as each episode gets funnier and funnier. Don’t believe me. Check twitter, #partners. Like I keep saying, the show is not getting canned and will be picked up for a full season.”

Dear ezduzit, you’ve pretty much got the entire Fan Excuse Bingo card covered. Good for you!

As for that full season pick up for Partners, we’ll be waiting right here, and we’re not likely to be the ones surprised!

  • James S

YAY Castle! Doing well for a 5th season which is actually proving to be a very good season. However the change in direction may not be to the liking of many, it’s a welcome storyline imho.

  • JJ

I totally agree that “Partners” is awful. Painfully awful. The actors are trying their best, I guess, but it’s like they are all in different plays. There is no glue. Is that the fault of the director? The casting agent? The writers? Or all of the above?

    @Bill G

If partners was canned , it would give a cbs a rise in mondays its hurting the shows after it they need to chuck something else in that will give better ratings

Can’t disagree with that, and that will happen, but I’d have thought that if they were putting Rules Of Engagement into the first Monday of November sweeps (Oct 29) that they’d have announced the change by now. They’re almost out of time to make that change.

I think it’s something of a market sell rule that the NFL has in place.

If a team sells out enough seats, their home games are broadcast/cablecast, but if they fall below the expected income, the games are blacked out in an area.

Also, local affiliates could have deals with the sports teams in their markets. NBC11 in San Jose does most of the San Francisco Giants games, and here in Sacramento, CW31 airs them and if they pre-empt netowrk programming, they are scheduled after the game. Syndicated fare like “Entertainment Tonight” gets pushed aside. KXTV-10 (ABC) does a few Sacramento Kings games, and if the network isn’t affected, the shows will air; otherwise the station moves it to a Saturday or Sunday timeslot that has informercials.

It’s no wonder the other 10:00 shows on CBS are doing better than #H50, in my opinion Monday night is the toughest night of the week. Football, now Baseball and the caliber of shows on Monday nights with #H50, Castle and Revolution makes it tough. Easy to make judgement calls about the shows when you don’t have such stiff opposition. I think all 3 networks are doing a pretty good job of hanging tough against each other. Lead in helps CBS on Tuesday from 8 on, Wednesday 8 on and Thursday from 9 all action on, Thursday 8-9 highest rated comedies. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but in my opinion Monday still the toughest night of the week.

  • Brian

GO REVOLUTION!!!!!! The show rocks and is just getting better :)

  • L

Really happy for Partners! The show just keeps getting better and better with each episode. If the pilot wasn’t so damn bad, then maybe the ratings would be higher…

    Go On?

  • Katherine

@FB No offense but if you’re a crew member(grip, wardrobe, etc…) there’s plenty of work in Hollywood. If one show gets cancelled you move onto another show or a movie.

  • gustavo

CW shows barely exist in the ratings

  • Luke

I don’t even watch Revolution but I’m happy to see a serialized show finding success. Here’s hoping it keeps up.

  • Dan S

It’s nice for once to enjoy a show like Revolution & seeing the ratings hold up well. It amuses me that people continue to trash talk the show & even more fun when they predict its cancellation. Sorry to see H50 get the short end of the stick but because of its syndication prospects it’ll be around awhile. Some free advice to CBS, replace Partners with ROE & move H50 to Tues. Vegas could relocate to Sun or Fri & put The Mentalist on Mon.

  • Hugh

Good for Rev. Think its certain renewal now

    Wow, Castle skews old.

I’m curious to see what the DWTS ratings are from tonight and next week. They’ll probably still be low, but Bristol being voted out might get people curious for next week.

LOL! at Gossip Girl. Lord, that is a bad rating and it’s only the second week. 90210 really isn’t that much better. Yeesh. I hope at least some of the new shows stay well above that.

No, that’s not it, an earlier commenter posted the correct answer. Read up above.
