    @Bill Gorman

Dont yo agree Tuesday night after NCIS:LA would be a much better suited timeslot for H50 And it would also give it a ratings boost no doubt which is what its needs , the shows before it have a sitcom audience which means h50 wont keep most of it lead in audience. However I think this would be much better suited for Tuesday , NICS> NCIS:LA, H50, I think that would be a great lineup , Also considering NCIS:LA had some crossover episodes with H50.

For whatever reason CBS hasn’t done that already but that is not the only option , putting it after person of interest is also not a bad option they need to stop putting comedies as lead ins for it imo it is killing the show , it needs to get exposed to the NCIS audience who will more likely tune in every week over a sitcom audience

I dunno how partners between that sexy, sexy sandwich of HIMYM and 2BG can get such low numbers.

  • Andy

    Go Partners! Great show!

  • Ezduzit

Go On is a comedy? Thank for educating me. I haven’t laughed at it once.

    @Bill Gorman

Though I may have hit Bingo on my excuse card, I notice that you didn’t say that anything I said was wrong. And if it turns out that I’m not the one who gets the surprised come back order pick up time (I see that you have already revised your cancellation assessment), I hope that you acknowledge that you heard it here first!

  • ABCFanatic2012

Wow at 90210! I predict it will get another season!

Dancing with the Stars skews old! Glad Castle is just 1 point below than its lead-in!

Oh Katherine, you really have no idea how it works in Hollywood (or perhaps you do, and you’re one of the heartless creeps who muddy the pool). Yes most of the time eventually another show comes along, but the crew members take serious financial hits. As I said, we all know what we are getting into when we sign up. I’m just saying when people on this sight cheering for failure is sad. Then again, I’m the kind of person who feels bad for the losing sports team even if it wasn’t the one I was initially cheering for. It’s called compassion. Some of these people, and I am not referring to myself, have a lot of hopes and dreams riding on these shows.

    Probably useless Data…

The following covers Season to Date ratings for all scripted shows (excluding Friday and CW).

The Average Rating by Broadcast Hour:

0800PM 2.481 (if you exclude TBBT the average falls to 2.367)

0900PM 2.692 (if you exclude MF the average falls to 2.568)

1000PM 2.207 (if you exclude Revolution the average falls to 2.051)

So yes… The difference between 10PM and the earlier slots is almost a half a point in the demo…..

some of you need to relax on the Gossip Girl bashing lol, you make it sound like CW is stupid for keeping it on the air. This is the final season, and it’s been given 13 episodes instead of the normal 22-24 it had. The final season is more for the fans left of the show – to conclude things, seeing as how this was one of the biggest CW shows before it’s being given the dignity to write itself to finale.

I agree 100% with that, and I have been arguing for the Tuesday move for a long time, even though I think what is ultimately hurting the show is the revolution competition. However, the problem with that move at this point is that I have no idea what CBS should put there. All the other 10pm shows they have would do the same or, most likely worse. The only exception I can think of, but that is basing myself on last’s week formidable result, is CSI, but that show is just too old to be moved around like that I think and it too needs the compatible lead-in from Criminal Minds, i think it would crash badly following Mike and Molly. The only other option is the “downgrade” of a 9pm show but that would involve way too much rebuilding for CBS standards. This being said, if Criminal Minds keeps dipping, I think it will be the perfect candidate to move there next year (although I also don’t see it being wise to premiere a new drama facing x-factor and modern family next year, but well)

Yeah for my favorite show Hawaii Five 0. It’s the most fun show on tv and feeds the need for action, drama, and great characters. Hope it’s around for a long, long! time

  • Dean

Revolution and Last Resort are my favorite new shows. I’m ecstatic by those numbers!! A truly good show and people are actually watching!

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

@Exduzit, everything you wrote was either wrong or irrelevant to the future of the show, including that you wrote it first. Plenty of crazy fans have written the same things. That’s why we play Fan Excuse Bingo.

  • Snow

Holy!! Revolution has been awesome so far. Great to see the numbers reflect that. This is coming from someone who hated every sci-fi genre show since Fringe (you can say I love POI as well, but its not truly sci-fi). Revolution has more character depth, intrigue and stability than any show that’s currently on the networks. Its a keeper for sure.
My biggest concern with Castle was it becoming unfunny after the leads hooked up. But this season has been hilarious till now, better than the last. If it keeps around 2.1-2.5 with the horrible DWTS (compared to last season) ratings, it should be a shoo-in for season 6.

It’s an useless data because the 10 pm hour is very different from the 9 and 8 pm. They can’t be fairly compared because:

1)Neither FOX nor the CW have shows in that hour. EVER. That alters every conclusion it could be made.

2)CBS’s Sunday is never on time and its slot is affected by that.

Even in that case, the difference btw 8 pm shows and 10 pm is either 0.274 point in the demo or 0.316 according to your numbers. Hardly half a point. More 1/4 of a point. ;-)

If you ask Bill or Robert, they will tell you that the difference btw 8 pm and 10 pm among demo viewers watching tv is almost irrelevant. This only leads to the conclusion that people don’t watch 10 pm broadcast shows because they don’t interest them enough, and instead they chose other options (cable and spanish networks).

SOA is a 10 pm show and it doesn’t have any problem putting great numbers. TBBT repeats on cable more that often get higher ratings at 10 rather than at 9.

Duck Dinasty had a higher demo at 10:30-11 than at 10-10:30 and so on.

The 10 pm problem is just a problem for broadcast tv shows, not tv shows in general.

  • Baaa!

Chris-I would have to say Castle looks better at this point in the season than H5O. Both shows have the syndication going for it. It really helps H5O because right now it is dropping more than Castle from its lead-in and they are dancing around the same numbers.Castle’s performance for ABC is better than H5O’s for CBS, so far this season. Castle has five seasons already and more episodes mean more syndication revenue, H5O may now get the boot after meeting the minumum to achieve it if it stays this course.Right now I could see both being moved, but not eliminated next season. H5O to reach syndication and Castle as insurance or Fridays. Both on Fridays head to head would be interesting.

    Good for ABC

When people on this sight cheer for shows to get cancelled, do they ever think about the hundreds of jobs that are lost each time? I enjoy watching the ratings as well because it’s an interesting process, but some people on here are so harsh. Maybe it’s because I might be losing my job soon on one of these soon to be cancelled shows. I realize it’s the name of the game in the industry but it’s not easy.

So, what, your DOA show is going to be replaced with dead air? Color bars? Or are other people on upcoming shows waiting in the wings not allowed to have jobs too? Go work for a SMART NBC “comedy” if you want to be employed forever without anybody watching. I’m sure there’s one being created by a smirking, smug, self-satisfied, gliberal, former “SNL” alum as we speak.

    P.S. Hi, ezdavidkrumholtzit!

You have to stop reading after the idiot says “When people on this sight…”
