NATIONAL LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES RAIN DELAY

PUSHES CONCLUSION OF “The X Factor” ‘JUDGES HOMES’ ROUND

TO TUESDAY, OCTOBER 23

Due to tonight’s rain delay of Game #3 of the National League Championship Series, the highly anticipated conclusion of the “Judges’ Homes” round of The X Factor will air in its entirety on Tuesday, Oct. 23 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The competition kicks into high gear on Tuesday, when the judges reveal which four acts in each of the four categories – Teens, Young Adults, Groups and Over 25s – continue and which two acts are eliminated.

Tonight on the West Coast (8:00-10:00 PM PT), an encore broadcast of last Wednesday night’s The X Factor will air. The remainder of The X Factor schedule remains intact, with the first live episodes airing Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) and Sunday, Nov. 4 (8:00-10:00 PM ET live-PT tape-delayed).

[EDITOR’S NOTE 1: The Raising Hope, Ben And Kate, New Girl and The Mindy Project episodes scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 23 are preempted and will be scheduled at a later date.]

I bet ABC are delighted the Happy Endings/Apt 23 premiere won’t have to face New Girl/Mindy.

  • Remote Patrolled

It was a total fiasco. There was no plan B from Fox – they literally were just throwing anything at the screen.

There are well paid people at the network who are meant to deal with situations like this. Just ridiculous.

Now we get another X Factor versus Voice situation and the former is gonna get slaughtered as most of the ep has already aired!

  • Rob R

Ironically, the entire 2 hours of the X Factor could have aired in the Eastern and Central time zones because the came did not resume until 10 pm Eastern. THe Central and Eastern U.S. did see 1 hour and 15 minutes of the X Factor, including finding out all the youngsters and all the “Over 25 year old” singers who went through. As is typical with the X Factor, the suspense was incredibly underwhelming……..we saw no performances, just sit down discussions with the “winners” and “losers.”

Concerning Sunday Animation – new episodes should air this Sunday on FOX (unless preempted by baseball), but they will for sure be preempted on October 28 (by baseball) and then on November 4 (by a special episode of “The X-Factor”).

So, if FOX’s animated comedies get preempted this Sunday, we won’t be seeing new episodes till November 11.

Fox really dropped the ball on this one. Once they aired Ben & Kate, they needed to put the 2 hour X Factor on the shelf for the night. X Factor was now delayed and unlikely to air in its entirety. Then they suddenly switch to the Mindy Project after a random commercial break, and don’t complete that episode either. They went to about 15 minutes of baseball filler before picking the game back up. It seemed like they didn’t have a backup plan in place, so the lineup didn’t flow at all.

  • Christina

I am annoyed because this same problem happened last year during the ALCS and FOX didn’t randomly play the show at 8:47 and cut it off. All they did was bump it to Sunday. I don’t mind it being on next Tuesday, but I do have a problem with showing only 45 minutes of the show. If someone played their cards right and aired it at 8pm they could’ve shown it in its entirety.

  • John K

Just a note about CTV. They started airing the show at a random time. I think that’s why they didn’t air the last 15 minutes, because it was 10 and they started airing a new CSI, which was scheduled for that time. Also, on my FOX feed, the new episode of the X Factor also aired (here in Canada). Not sure if it’s just because a different channel has exclusive MLB rights in Canada, and thus something else had to be on the FOX feed.

  • David

LOL I thought I had accidentally changed the channel or something when I came back and The Mindy Project was on with no explanantion or anything HA

X Factor could’ve run from 8 to 10 and the baseball game resumed at 10:05 anyway.

Instead genius Fox execs made us slog through Ben & Kate for no reason at 8.

Then 1 hr and some change of random X Factor miraculously morphing into Mindy Project at 9:45?!? WTF FOX lol

    FAIL!!!

  • j

While this will be crushed by The Voice, it’ll still probably do better than their 3 failed comedies (+ New Girl).

  • Max Vrany

NLCS Game 6 airs in place of the late NFL slot on Sunday. No rain in the forecast.

  • Hmm

Such a big fail for Fox.

  • Jason

Does anyone still watch baseball? What, are we living in 1920?

  • Bleh

Watched 5 minutes of Mindy Project in total confusion last night. Felt like vomitting afterwards.

  • David

LMAO @ Bleh… My thoughts exactly

  • Jon23812

@Jason, people would rather watch baseball at a live game, not on television.

  • david

No big loss for the failing Tuesday commedies. or should i say half of the commedies are failing. the Voice will still win Tuesday night.

  • Clarke

I live in Canada, and last night was so confusing and frustrating. CTV’s schedule was so screwed up, because it cut to the CBS feed for the new CSI at 10, but it took a freaking 10 minutes to cut to it and I missed a lot of the show. Come to think of it, that happens a lot in Canada. You’ll watch “CBS” when it really is Global, CTV and CityTV show being simulcast in place of the CBS shows. Half the time someone at the simulcast control room must be asleep because if Nashville starts on “CTV” after Criminal Minds then CTV will forget to show Criminal Minds which is the show scheduled ! I know…it’s confusing, don’t even try to wrap your head around it.

  • Clarke

    * CTV will forget to show CSI, not Criminal Minds.

  • Cardinals & Joe Buck ruin baseball

Outside of New Girl, nobody watches those Tuesday comedies anyways.

  • colt13

Disappointing. They made my decision on what I would DVR easier, but I hope they don’t hurt Happy Endings and Apt 23’s ratings.
