Modern Family, Survivor, and Animal Practice were each adjusted up a tenth while CSI was adjusted down a tenth among adults 18-49 versus the preliminary Wednesday broadcast ratings.

The unscrambled ratings for last night's FOX programming are also below. This was the chronology that happened in the Eastern Time zone.

  • MLB Rain Delay Coverage (8-8:02pm)
  • Ben And Kate repeat (8:02-8:32pm)
  • MLB Rain Delay Coverage (8:33-8:40pm)
  • The X Factor (8:40-9:47pm)
  • The Mindy Project repeat (9:47-9:56pm)
  • NLCS Game 3 Conclusion (9:56-10:45pm)
Obviously the rain delay and forced return to baseball caused chaos and just crushed their ratings for the night. The data in the rating table is as much as we received.

Final broadcast primetime ratings for Wednesday, October 17, 2012:

  • Hmm

I don’t know how Fox can really be releveant to anything. I turned the tv off when it was Ben and Kate instead of the X-Factor. Fox killed their own ratings with their disasterious choice to screw up the X-Factor.

  • Oliver

Wow, the repeat of Ben & Kate’s pilot actually did pretty well. Potentially a smart decision from Fox if the show manages to retain some of those viewers next week.

  • Ryan

    was X-Factor a repeat?

  • Kavyn

@CrimTV well, due to the fact that XFactor just completely skipped straight through to Mindy Project people were probably very “wtf” during those first 5 minutes or so. It probably had really extreme half hours that lead to it’s 1.7.

  • Blake

It’s too early for “bye, bye, Nashville”. If it continues to drop, yes. But at this level it’s still doing as well as “Castle” and “Scandal” and better than “Private Practice,” “666 Park Av.” and “The Last Resort”. Only 3 ABC dramas are doing better. We’ll see how it goes in the coming weeks.

  • Edward

SPN holding its own against Modern Family!

  • Justin121

The best 10pm shows can do across the board is a 2.3.

    Nashville is not a flop.

Neither is Castle, Scandal, Hawaii 5-0, Vegas, Elementary, Mentalist, Chicago Fire, and Parenthood.

Flops are 666 Park Ave. and Private Practice.

CBS gets 5 out of 5 for 10pm.
NBC gets 4 out of 5.
ABC gets 3 out of 5.

I just can’t help but think about all of the weeks NBC wasted on AP when Whitney could’ve been there a long time ago.

Whitney was going against Idol most of the season and it did good the first week it aired there so maybe Whitney’s numbers will be close to what it got then which would really help GWK and the Dick Wolf dramas.

  • Clarke

The Neighbors is currently teetering over the edge of cancellation. But if it can stay steady, it might stay put. I like the show and I am rooting for it to succeed, despite the whole world being against it. It could become a cult hit, who knows.

  • Matt

I’m glad to see Survivor have it’s best total viewers since the premiere. If only we can get the rating in the 18-49 category to go up a bit. Still it’s amazing, 12 years and 25 seasons later that show can still pull in respectable numbers.

  • Cardinals & Joe Buck ruin baseball

    @ Oliver

Smart decision LOL! You do know those were just people who thought X Factor was on right?

  • Honey Badger

    @ Matt great comment

I’m so absolutely thrilled for Arrow and even more so for Supernatural. Even through my rose-coloured glasses I expected a small downturn for both shows this week. It’s wonderful to be wrong!

However, I really hope Chicago Fire can pick itself back up. Didn’t expect to like this show but so far am quite enjoying it. Fingers crossed.

    “No MLB data?”

Nope, our regular source did not include it. I’m not sure why.

@ JulieDawn: I like Chicago Fire too, I think NBC made a great decision putting SVU together with Chicago Fire. They fit well together but competing against CBS probably handicaps their numbers a bit.

  • robin

glad Arrow didn’t adjust down and it got a little up tick in viewers too

  • joss

X faxtor canceled by FOX :D

  • Guy

Whoa, The CW beat NBC *and* Fox for 8:00pm-8:30pm!?

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“I’m still confused about FOX’s ratings. On the West Coast, a 2-hour repeat of “X Factor” aired in primetime. Were those ratings completely factored out, or did they impact the ratings we see in the table?”

I believe (and Robert may correct me if he reads this), when other time zones air something other than what the Eastern/Central timezones do (like for the Pacific timezone after SNF each Sunday), since those programs are not “national” they don’t impact the ratings we see, while they would impact local ratings (that we don’t see except in some press releases).
