Modern Family, Survivor, and Animal Practice were each adjusted up a tenth while CSI was adjusted down a tenth among adults 18-49 versus the preliminary Wednesday broadcast ratings.
The unscrambled ratings for last night's FOX programming are also below. This was the chronology that happened in the Eastern Time zone.
- MLB Rain Delay Coverage (8-8:02pm)
- Ben And Kate repeat (8:02-8:32pm)
- MLB Rain Delay Coverage (8:33-8:40pm)
- The X Factor (8:40-9:47pm)
- The Mindy Project repeat (9:47-9:56pm)
- NLCS Game 3 Conclusion (9:56-10:45pm)
Obviously the rain delay and forced return to baseball caused chaos and just crushed their ratings for the night. The data in the rating table is as much as we received.

Oh I feel like I have arrived now, after being the subject of Bill’s condesending attitude. Thanks much.
Wish Suburgatory adjusted up but oh well.
worth saying again. congrats to cw, arrow and supernatural!!
“Oh I feel like I have arrived now, after being the subject of Bill’s condesending attitude. Thanks much.”
Many are called, but few are chosen.
SVU 300th episode on Wednesday at 9/8c!
And AP adjusted up – for the last time on what has turned out to be its final episode. Happy endings all around!
Congratulations CW! Supernatural is excellent and Arrow also.
@Holly – I think NBC has a lot of options: Infamous, Hannibal, Smash, Crossbones and Dracula; plus The Biggest Loser, which could easily take up 2 hours in the spring. With The Voice taking up 3 hours, that’s already a third of NBC’s open schedule filled (assuming they stick to their previously announced Sunday night lineup).
They don’t have to keep Chicago Fire around if it sinks much further.
@Ricky – Not exactly… it was still beat by a repeat of a low-rated Fox sitcom.
Nashville would have worked better on cable. I enjoy it, but I can see why so many people can’t relate to it.
A 2.0 is not below average for a 10:00PM show so if it holds…….I also like the low rated 666 Park Ave and Last Resort. But, ABC needs to yank 666 and put Last Resort there. Last Resort just doesn’t fit at 8:00PM.
@r0ckmypants,
I don’t think Hannibal, Crossbones and Dracula are filming yet (Hannibal at least is still casting major roles), so I’m not sure any of those could be ready even by mid-season.
@Max is an idiot, i didnt even watch xfactor due to the mess up
nashville is too damn good for network TV. these audiences need constant suspense and juicy twists every 5 minutes cus their attention spans don’t last. they can’t appreciate the beautiful way the show incorporates music and the well-written dialogue. the show would be better served on cable.
that said, still rooting for it. this is a terrible fall season. shows have barely recovered from the spring ratings disaster and the new shows are mostly a bust. i expect it’ll be in the 1.8-2.0 range next week. and then hopefully it can climb back up to low 2.0s. it’s a tough road, but not impossible considering how shows are doing, esp. at 10PM.
@Holly
Hannibal is ready. 13 ep. Crossbones and Dracula not sure. All other show are ready too. 13 ep.
FOX’s ratings don’t matter. The schedule was messed up. If X-Factor would have aired regularly it would have gotten somewhere between a 3.1 and a 3.4.
I think NBC must be smart here. They must air 7-8 RVN episodes in february&march and after that RVN must be anchor in tuesday or wednesday next season. NBC must do like cable networks – AMC, FX with their serialized show or even ABC with Once&Revenge and sell it to netflix for streaming after the season. This really help a lot.
May be NBC wednesdays 2013 fall will be
8 Revolution
9 Dracula or Crossbones
10 Hannibal
Bill, I really do enjoy your “blue” posts. Keep it up.
@Mummy
I don’t really agree I’m afraid. X Factor did hit a 2.9 last week – but that was possibly due to the fact that it was on before the debate and people didn’t think it was airing then (I actually don’t hold too much weight in that argument)
Before that X Factor has been about 3.2 or higher all season. It is a very steady show.
Last night was a mess. I stuck it out and watched the show but I’m sure many people gave up and switched to Modern Family or just assumed the show was cancelled. I really don’t think we can draw too many conclusions from the ratings
In a crazy way this delay may even help X Factor. It was the Judge’s Houses results show – essentially a recap episode of contestants before the live shows start. 6 million watched last night and many will watch part of the show again on Tuesday. But it may also pick up a new sampling… at just the right time… who knows?
But Fox scheduling last night was a mess… and I don’t buy the rain excuse. I work in TV – you make contingency plans. That’s just common sense!
@ iowegian IMHO receiving an acknowledgement from Mr. Gorman is equivalent to being granted a Papal audience.
Does anyone know which repeat episode of Ben & Kate aired? Was it the same one as the previous night or was it an older episode?
