Which New Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Fourth? (Poll)

10/19 Update: While Private Practice has now been canceled, it wasn't in the poll because it wasn't a rookie show. Proceed as usual!

While it was a distant second in our latest "Who'll be canceled next?" poll, Animal Practice was caught by the Cancellation Bear today and was the third show of the broadcast season to be canceled.

Which show will be next on the menu of the Cancellation Bear?

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later (two seasons ago those who answered The Whole Truth in the "next to be canceled" poll ended up being correct, it was removed first among the shows noted and never returned, despite initial ABC claims to the contrary).

What's your guess?

While this poll allows just one answer per person, feel free to expand your choices in the comments.

i have said this many times. the mob doctor will not see November.

  • Brandy

What other shows besides Animal Practice & Made in Jersey have been cancelled?

  • hammard

I’m gonna go with Mob Doctor. I think NBC may pull Up All Night for Community but otherwise I think Mob Doctor will be the only one to be pulled in a while.

  • Mike

@Brandy, NBC cancelled the January replacement “Next Caller” earlier this week.

Bill considers this a cancellation even though it never aired since it was actually picked up by NBC and was in production.

  • Jon

    @Matt M

They are promoting The Following already….in fact they’ve been promoting since The Mob Doctor started…lol.

I just hope it doesnt fall into the trap Alacatraz had last year ( big promo in the fall, debut in January to decent ratings, fall by half by the finale in May…or March depending how it does.)

“So, you’re saying that Animal Practice was the fourth to be canceled, and your poll is asking what the fourth show to be canceled will be?”

    Bad typo bear, bad!

    Fixed.

“I don’t think Mob Doctor will get cancelled until after the 11/5 episode (the last episode before sweeps).”

The November sweeps period is October 25 – November 21, 2012.

Note: it’s possible that Fox could have a World Series game on 10/29.

  • Jon

666 Park Avenue ( I liked the show I just can’t seem to follow it….it’s so AMHS- lite) followed by the Mob Doctor( finally), then Partners, Emily Owens and finally Last Resort…all before the Christmas break.

  • Anthony

Who was insane enough to pick Revolution and Arrow? Do you really think NBC and the CW would cancel their second highest rated shows in the middle of the season? The answer is no.

  • BG

    666 Park Avenue

  • Flarikker

Yeah…I guessed right…….bye bye Animal Practice. I guess both Mrs. & Mr. Swisher Yankees) are having a bad month. Well with November sweeps looming, the bear will feast on many shows in the next two weeks. They will start to fall like dominoes. I think more than one show will get cancelled at the same time.

  • David

I voted for Partners, but 666 Park Avenue wouldn’t be surprising either. It will suck when it inevitably happens, but it won’t be surprising…

  • Jon

    @ Bill

Since sweeps start next week…when do you think the Bear will feast on the next show?

  • JJA

Question–why do networks wait to cancel shows? After 2 episodes of very bad ratings, why would they let the show go for 3, 4, 5, etc.?

I guess what I’m asking is why wait to cancel 666 Park Avenue? Or Last Resort? I realize the CW may not have a choice, but ABC has options.

  • Ezduzit

Partners ratings are on the rise and will tick up again this Monday. Going nowhere. You’ll see.

  • Hadesa

I went with Partners this time

  • Joseph

Come on cancel Mob Doctor already!!! poor RIZZO!!

  • Mike

“The November sweeps period is October 25 – November 21, 2012.”

I stand corrected. When did fall sweeps expand to 4 weeks?

  • tscchope

Can’t see Mob Doctor being cancelled. Slam dunk it’s not coming back for a second season, even given Reilly’s wierd renewals policy.

  • Melanie

I keep saying Partners – one of these times I’ll be right!
