Which New Broadcast TV Show Will Be Canceled Fourth? (Poll)

10/19 Update: While Private Practice has now been canceled, it wasn't in the poll because it wasn't a rookie show. Proceed as usual!

While it was a distant second in our latest "Who'll be canceled next?" poll, Animal Practice was caught by the Cancellation Bear today and was the third show of the broadcast season to be canceled.

Which show will be next on the menu of the Cancellation Bear?

Better to Follow The Bear, Than Be Chased By Him. This season you can follow the Cancellation Bear on Twitter via @TheCancelBear. The Cancellation Bear will retweet all the Renew/Cancel Index post titles and links as well as engage in a little more back and forth banter than we do on our standard @TVbytheNumbers Twitter feed.

Because comment thread lawyers are everywhere, let's be clear that for the purposes of this poll "canceled" means removed from its initially scheduled timeslot, either off the air entirely or rescheduled to a burn off timeslot, even if the network *claims* the show will return later (two seasons ago those who answered The Whole Truth in the "next to be canceled" poll ended up being correct, it was removed first among the shows noted and never returned, despite initial ABC claims to the contrary).

What's your guess?

While this poll allows just one answer per person, feel free to expand your choices in the comments.

I’m stunned that Mob Doctors is still here. So many thought it would be the first to go. What is Fox waiting for?

  • Maximillian

I noticed during Nashville this past week that when ABC was advertising their Sunday Night Line-up they were no longer promoting 666 Park Avenue (the commercials only showed OUAT and Revenge). Take it for what it’s worth, but I think that is the biggest sign of impending cancellation sooner then later.

  • Chris

^^^ wow that doesn’t sound good. I know at the start they promoted all three at once for their sunday night line up.

  • antonio

Partners won’t get pulled until CBS is ready to build up premiere buzz for RoE. Probably within the next 2-3 weeks. But CBS won’t cancel Partners outright it will conveniently get pulled from the schedule and begin airing any remaining episodes on Saturday nights.

  • Jared

The Neighbors is steady enough that I can’t see ABC cancelling it until after its initial 13 episodes have aired.

I also noticed that when ABC advertised its Sunday lineup 666 was nowhere to be found. I have a feeling ABC will continue to air it until its Halloween episode than pull it before November sweeps.

  • American

I’d say 666, because 1. it’s bringing down ABC Sundays and 2. FOX is refusing to cancel Mob Doctor.

  • kasey

Sadly, 666 Park is probably next to go. I’ve seen Sun night ads several times on ABC today & they’re no longer mentioning 666. I admit 666 Park could be better but I’m enjoying it for indulgent shallow reasons. It’s certainly better than other shows. Maybe CW will grab it to replace the abysmal Beauty show that is a stain on the memory of the excellent 80s series.

  • Jessica

    The CW would pick-up 666.

but if they aren’t showing 666 in the promos for sunday night line up with OUAT and Revenge than I say the show will be soon gone.

  • Emily

I reckon fox is going to hold onto the mob doctor untils it has to kill it, if the networks are playing fair, its ABC’s turn

  • Amanda

Private Practice was down the toilet.

  • Just Looking

ABC played Private Practice so that they didn;t have to cancel any of their new show even though everyone pretty much knew it was their last season.

So it;s most likely FOX now that all the other 3 major networks have slaughtered a lamb for sacrifice.

Plus, Park Avenue a d Last Resort just got new scripts so that’s a plus for them.

The Mob Doctor is probably gone before November ends.

  • Chad

The Neighbors has gotta go! I couldn’t watch more than 5 minutes of the premiere. How does awful crap like this get made? I can’t believe any show that didn’t get picked up this season was worse than this!

  • Rooks

I went with 666, but I think Chicago Fire is just as likely

  • tscchope

Just because a show gets a pick up of additional scripts doesn’t mean they’ll actually be made. In the Last resort’s case, it’s likely to allow for a wrap-up. 666 park Aveenue a smokescreen by ABC hoping to secure extra viewers because the network “backs” the show. Show poker, if you like. Fox orders 2 additional episodes for two of its shows, so ABC orders a couple of scripts -there’s a subtle difference.

  • Greg

I’d say Mob Doctor and Partners are the only options of being cancelled prior November sweeps. Can’t see ABC pulling 666 this year, they have nothing to replace, but it’s definitely gone by midseason. The rest is doing decently, but nothing is really a hit (ok, Arrow is, but only by CW standards).

  • Percysowner

Well, since MD has been announced that it will continue and my next go to 666 just got 2 extra episodes, I’m backing Partners, which probably means it will get additional episodes ordered as well. I am obviously not programmer material.

  • omabin

it’s almost as if the networks are watching these polls… mob doctor leading? let’s put it on the schedule for the sweeps… 666 next? let’s order some scripts… if cbs comes out on monday announcing full season order for partners we will know for sure that their only goal this year is to mess up with tvbythenumbers, forget money and ratings lol

  • Honey Badger

    I have a question.

It seems NBC already has a lot of midseason replacements already produced in case they have to cancel a lot of shows. What about the other networks?
There is even a Fox Keeps ‘The Mob Doctor’ On The Schedule, How Low Will The Ratings Go? (Poll) http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2012/10/19/fox-keeps-the-mob-doctor-on-the-schedule-how-low-will-the-ratings-go-poll/154029/

I read somewhere that Fox is continuing with the low rated Mob Doctor because it does not have replacement shows ready to go, can this be true?
Do the other networks have replacements in the bullpen ready to go? Or are they forced to go with the shows they have?

  • Sam

I’m hoping for The New Normal. I’m gay and progressive and I find this show strident and unfunny. It seems like there’s talent in most of the cast, but someone explain to me Ryan Murphy’s fascination/devotion to the utterly untalented Nene Leakes. She was awful on Glee (one of the reason I stopped watching it) and she’s awful here. While Partners hasnt found its legs yet, it’s far superior to this mishmash of dreck Murphy has put together.

That being said, there’s not a lot on this list I would keep around. All in all, the new shows this season have been kind of blah.

  • Dean_W

Partners for me. CBS is falling and the return of Rules of Engagement can help the whole Monday lineup.
