via press note:

ABC earned second place on Thursday night in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, while ranking #1 with Women 18-34.

  • · ABC was up 7% in Total Viewers over the year-ago night, while holding 100% of its Adult 18-49 delivery.

Growing week to week in the 8 o’clock hour against CBS’ top-rated comedies (The Big Bang Theory/Two and a Half Men), ABC freshman Last Resort took second place in viewers and young adults, finishing well ahead of Fox’s MLB National League Championship and continued to dominate NBC’s comedies (30 Rock/Up All Night). The biggest percentage gainer via DVR playback for any 8pm show, ABC’s Last Resort shot up by 2.7 million viewers and by 46% (+1.0 rating) in Adults 18-49 from the next-day L+SD numbers to the final L+7 numbers.

  • · Last Resort was up over the prior week by 6% in Total Viewers, by 6% in Adults 18-49 and by 20% in Adults 18-34.

  • · Improving the hour year to year for ABC for its 4th straight telecast, on average Last Resort is boosting its time period by double digits in Total Viewers (+14%) and Adults 18-49 (+27%) over the same point last season with original drama programming.

Coming off a pre-emption the previous week for the Vice Presidential debate, ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy jumped over its lead-in among Adults 18-49 (+94%) at 9pm to dominate its competition in the hour and stand as Thursday’s #1 drama for its 3rd consecutive telecast this season. Leading by double digits in the 9 o’clock hour, ABC’s Grey’s outpaced CBS’ Person of Interest by 18%, NBC’s comedies by 83% (The Office/Parks and Recreation) and Fox’s post-season baseball by 136%. Jumping in DVR Playback, Grey’s adds 3.3 million viewers and a 1.5 Adult 18-49 rating points from its next-day numbers to its L+7 finals

Retaining 100% of its Adult 18-49 audience from its last telecast two weeks ago, ABC’s Scandal continued to close the gap with CBS’ Elementary (pacing within 1 share) in the 10 o’clock hour, while overshadowing NBC’s Rock Center with Brian Williams in Total Viewers (+88%) and Adults 18-49 (+122%). Scandal beat Elementary to stand as the #1 scripted TV show in its slot in Adults 18-34 and across all key Women (W18-34/W18-49/W25-54). A big beneficiary of DVR playback, the 10pm drama jumped up by 2.6 million viewers and by 43% in young adults over its first-reported L+SD numbers to its Live + 7 Day results.

  • · In addition to holding all of its Adult 18-49 audience, the ABC drama was up over its last telecast in Adults 25-54 (+4%).

  • · Scandal drew a larger audience to the hour than Private Practice on the same night last year.

  • Doris

Scandal will adjust down 2-3 tenths in the final ratings because of the GA over run. It happens every week.

  • Steve

It’ll drop. It was pre-empted in the Cincinnati market for a senate debate.

  • Michael

I’m really hoping it doesn’t drop. Love this show.

  • Tiger

Scandal is awesome!!! Hopefully, it’ll continue to dominate and increase because it get’s better and better. EXCELENT WRITERS WHO manage to top each each epidodes?!!! Bravo!!

  • Sue

I am such a fan of Last Resort. Such an unusual concept and the acting, in my humble opinion, is great. I love it, and hope others discover it!!!

  • dcindep

I too really like LAST RESORT. Give it a chance ABC!

  • simsalabim

Well, that’s odd. Last Resort is getting worse from week to week but the numbers grow.

  • City Kitty

Love Last Resort – it is a breath of fresh air with all the same old cr-p that is out there.

  • tv#1

Any chance this show gets a full season order. I am not completely in love with it, but it is watchable. I enjoy it more than most other TV dramas.

  • Randy

I love Last Resort. As a 26 year Navy Veteran I think it is one of the best comedies on Television. If this was meant to be a Drama you would think they would try and get an ounce of realism in the plot. Anyway it is fun to watch and pick apart.

  • USAmerica1st

Likewise, a fan of Last Resort.

  • POI

Hope it goes up each week and gets renewed because really the show is really good i love it, although its not the best new show that title goes to Arrow. Take my recommendation and watch it people its really good, its not like any other CW show it has an interesting story and has a lot of action so if u like that you should give it a try there are only 2 episodes that aired till now but they are that amazing to land it as my number 1 new show and im addicted to it really and i think many other people are as well.

  • BG

    I also love Last Resort.

  • MrBean

Get Last Resort out of the Thursday 8pm time slot. That is a brutal position, and it’s holding up fairly well but needs some help. It appears that 666 Park Ave and Nashville aren’t going to make it, so give Last Resort one of those two spots before it’s too late.

I had to read your first line twice before getting it. ;-)

  • karinpsy

    ABC’s press the joke…..

  • Rivz33

LAST RESORT is a well written, well acted new action/drama…..I really hope fans continue to spread-the-word and help bump up the ratings. LAST RESORT writers/actors deserve chance to tell their story. And, while the storyline does not lend itself to multiple seasons, they do seem to have the makings of an enjoyable tale. Fans of LOST should check-it-out….filmed on OAHU and a few of the shots cause nastalgic memories of JACK and CHARLIE golfing!!

LAST RESORT !!!! ….it’s waaaaaay better than that REVOLUTION craaaap!!

  • John

Last Resort is a very good show! Me and my wife truly quite enjoy it. I would say is in the top 3 best TV series on TV at the moment. It would be a travesty to see it get cancelled!!!

  • Idiots

I love how people who judge shows like this are the same geniuses who watch trash like Big Bang Theory and CSI for example. Comedies that exploit sub-cultures and do so with complete inaccuracy, or shows that are just filled with utter mind numbing stupidity aimed at brainwashed fools who can’t think for themselves. CBS is notorious for booking these kinds of procedural dramas and mind-boggling self-proclaimed comedies. These people just stare blankly at the tube and slowly let their brains be shepherded into an alpha state where they’re no longer thinking, but receiving uploads of data. No filters, no thoughts. Yet they come and talk trash about a show with a pretty good story arch building, great three dimensional characters and solid acting. It just baffles me sometimes.

  • Larry

Let it live!!! Finally a show that makes you eager to see the next episode. Andre Braugher is dynomite. Rest of the cast excellent too. Not like the same useless wannabe comedy/police drama drivel out there.
