On Tuesday, Oct. 23, the New FOX Tuesday comedies keep the laughs coming with all-new episodes of RAISING HOPE (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT), BEN AND KATE (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT) and NEW GIRL (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT). An all-new special one-hour episode of THE X FACTOR featuring the conclusion of the “Judges’ Homes” round airs during a special, extended prime from 9:30-10:30 PM ET/PT.

The Chances go on a couples retreat and Melanie Griffith, Wilmer Valderrama and Leslie Jordan guest-star on an all-new RAISING HOPE (8:00-8:30 PM ET/PT). In the episode, “If A Ham Falls in the Woods,” Jimmy (Lucas Neff) and Sabrina (Shannon Woodward) attend a marriage retreat led by a priest (Jordan) before they get married. Not wanting to miss out on a free vacation, Virginia (Martha Plimpton) and Burt (Garret Dillahunt) pose as a newly engaged couple so they can also attend. It becomes a true family affair when Sabrina’s mom, Tamara (Griffith), and her young lover, Ricardo (Valderrama), tag along.

In the all-new installment of BEN AND KATE (8:30-9:00 PM ET/PT), “Emergency Kit,” Kate (Dakota Johnson) challenges Ben (Nat Faxon) to be more prepared to take care of Maddie (Maggie Elizabeth Jones), and they all end up getting tested. Meanwhile, Ben’s crazy ex-girlfriend, Louise (guest star Lindsay Sloane), makes a surprise visit back into his life and BJ (Lucy Punch) might be developing real feelings for her boss, bar owner Buddy (guest star Rob Corddry).

In the all-new “Models” episode of NEW GIRL (9:00-9:30 PM ET/PT), Jess (Zooey Deschanel) spends a wild night out with Cece (Hannah Simone) and her model friends, then jumps in the driver’s seat when she must fill in for Cece at a car show. Meanwhile, the guys question what defines male friendship after Schmidt (Max Greenfield) buys Nick (Jake Johnson) a sweet gift.

The competition on THE X FACTOR (9:30-10:30 PM ET/PT) kicks into high gear on a special all-new episode when the judges reveal which four acts in each of the four categories – Teens, Young Adults, Groups and Over 25s – continue on to the live shows.

What about the West Coast viewers? We didnt see the first half of the show.

I’m guessing that FOX will re-air the first hour of the episode on Monday (it’s pretty unlikely that the NLCS will go seven games).

  • Leondre

Will there be six NLCS games because I do not want to see FOX’s Sunday Night Lineup pushed back

  • Ultima

    @Honey Badger
I am so confused by what Fox is trying to accomplish on this night.

They’re trying not to interrupt their sitcom lineup more than they already have to because of the election.

What are he implications of this?

Instead of their normal two hour episode of The X Factor, they’ll have two lower rated one hour episodes (presumably, maybe the second hour pulls normal numbers on Tuesday).

If the Giants win tonight, game six will air in primetime on Sunday.

  • Honey Badger

I do not understand any of this schedule for Fox on this night, everything is so jumbled.
What happened to the mindy project?
    Why is Fox doing this?

I am so confused by what Fox is trying to accomplish on this night.

    @ Ultima
    Thank You

  • jake

I loathe you Fox!!! You’re trying to crush Apartment 23 (my darling)

  • lethargic

Why can’t these morons just put the full episode of X Factor on their website so we can see it there?

This is just idiotic. I’ve invested 3 hours of my prime time, giving up other shows I wanted to watch to watch this, and now I don’t even get to see the most important episode.

  • Jon23812

I think FOX wants The X Factor to fail.

  • Baqinardo

Maybe FOX realizes that by Airing XF against The Voice, it’ll get the same #s with 1st hr of Comedy bcoz they already aired the 1st hr of XF.
And New Girl will pull the same #s with XF in that hr but Mindy wont.

  • Baqinardo

And XF will have a lead ;)

  • Nick

What’s wrong with just pre-empting the comedies? It’ll mean fewer repeats later in the season, not to mention that X Factor will probably draw at least a 2.8, higher than 3/4 of the comedy line up could ever dream of!

  • Ultima

I think FOX wants The X Factor to fail.

    That’s ridiculous.

Also, you do realize that FOX doesn’t need to justify their actions, they could just cancel the show.

  • Anon

The willingness of Fox to cut out an hour of X Factor speaks volumes about how much filler this show contains.

  • Jonny C…. formerly Jon

lol…ABC must be pissed right now.

And that speaks volumes how they feel about the Mindy Project right now…

  • The Watcher

    @ Leondre:
Nobody knows if the NLCS will go to six (or seven) games.
It’s a freakin’ live sporting event.
I know one thing…everyone here in St. Louis is rooting for it to end tonight with Game 5!

  • omabin

Fox is just trying to screw with Happy Endings here, no mystery

  • Mark

As much as I love Happy Endings and enjoy Apt. 23, they were never going to be a threat to Fox or NBC. If this move was really an attempt to mess with ABC’s misfit comedies, then Fox is in more trouble than we anticipated.

  • The Watcher

BTW, we watched the first two eps of Mindy and couldn’t take any more. Too few actual laughs. Too much self-absorbed train wreck Mindy. Don’t care.

  • Ray

    @Riff Rafferty
Well, in FOX’s defense, the show is a giant, steaming pile of something that shares a color with Mindy’s skin.

    Racist much?
