Fox Keeps 'The Mob Doctor' On The Schedule, How Low Will The Ratings Go? (Poll)

Fox has opted to keep the doomed ratings albatross The Mob Doctor on its schedule three of the four Mondays during the November sweeps period (Oct 29 will either be World Series game 5 or an X Factor repeat).

Apparently, no matter what the ratings carnage, Fox has nothing they want to put into the breach now.

In our previous poll, both the folks who guessed "Keep The Mob Doctor there until January" or "Who the heck knows" are still in the running to be proven right, but with the new scheduling news I thought I'd start a different poll.

Given that The Mob Doctor went 1.5, 1.3, 1.0, 0.9 in the adults 18-49 ratings in its first four episodes, and will have been off the schedule four weeks before it returns on November 5, how low will its ratings go by the end of its run?

Update: I am amused by all the "the bar seems to have been lowered..." comments. The only thing that was lowered by Fox this season is its number of replacement options. They apparently don't have any to spare.

I think it will come back a little stronger and then plummet again

I only watch Revolution and Castle on Mondays.
@The End: I liked Alcatraz initially, but the characters and the modern world weren’t interesting and the whole show reeked of malarkey more than anything. Terra Nova cost a ton to produce and I’d assume it had something to FOX’s predicament. TN was utter garbage on every level, except for kids.

Jordana Spiro must be Ruperts other neice

Can’t believe Mob Doctor isn’t it a hit! But give it time and it will be! Best thing I’ve seen since the Sopranos! Hang on Mob Doctor!

If it’s doing that terrible on a Monday there’s no logical reason it’s even on the schedule anymore. They gave it a fair chance and nobody wants to watch it. Quit wasting money and time and let it die.

0.9 because clearly everyone at fox has lost their marbles and under temporary insanity released a press release with the mob doctor

  • Emily

its getting to the level that Fringe reruns would do better than it

  • Ekras

    I’m predicting a 1.5 maybe a little higher…

    @Jon

    Compare Mob Doc to:

Parke Ave., Last Resort, Nashville, Vegas, Elementary, Made in Jersey, Chicago Fire, Revulotion, Beauty and the Beast, Emily Owens MD, and Arrow.

I’m sure Mob Doc is in the top 3, quality-wise. Easily.

Also, was $#*! My Dad Says really worse than: Running Wild, Better with You, Mike & Molly, Mad Love, Mr. Sunshine, and Outsourced?

I guess it’ll manage to complete it’s 13 episode order. Fox Brass seem to want to keep their shows on air as long as possible, and the bar seems to have lowered. Hopefully it gains some traction and levels back to 1.0>, which gives it a small hope for a back order. I think it’s doing really well in Canada, so it’ll be exciting to see the outcome. Hopefully the show elevates in ratings during the next airing.

I wonder if anyone @ Fox is wishing they had nutured Lie to Me or Human Target (or even The Finder) as pinch hitters.

  • John

Fox doesn’t have enough shows to cancel Mob Doctor it seems. They only have two dramas on the bench right now with Touch and The Following. The question is what would happen if the Following bombs Fox would have next to nothing so Touch has to stay on the bench till then.

Seems like most here also trash review on Yelps. Just guessing you guys are into reality show or public access. Mob Doctor is worth the time. Better than honey Boo Boo and all the fake reality clowns.

My husband never stays up past 9pm, but since the beginning of MOB Doctor, he cannot wait until Sunday night. We both love it, especially the “reality” aspect of it. We both miss it during this short (I hope) hiatus. There are some other REALLY BAD shows around, which are SAD. This is a truly interesting look on doctors.

Animation Domination got pre-empted tonight! What gives!?!?

  • Hattie

Surprised they haven’t yanked this from the schedule yet. My guess is they’re going to hang on to it until the last possible second. I mean, why wasn’t this cancelled weeks ago? I see it at .6 before anyone at FOX takes notice…

  • Scott

It’s a shame the show isn’t as popular, I like it.

  • jcc

hattie – it seems like you “hattie” mob dr for some reason – can you share with us why you dont like it – we all know the numbers arent good but we need to to deal with it and move on to the next show you never watched and bash that ! mob dr will air all their shows and i only hope it does better and picks up more episodes so it bothers all the haters of the show !

  • Melody

Somebody put Jordana back in a comedy and lets be done with it. We know the show is a goner and at this point Fox execs just look like idiots for keeping it around.

  • MOM-OF-4

FUNNY WHEN FOX STARTED OUT THEY HAD 1 MAIN SHOW THAT WAS STRUGGLING CALLED MARRIED WITH CHILDREN. iT WAS THOUGHT BY MANY THAT IT WAS A DUD AND SHOULD BE YANKED. FOX GAVE IT TIME MAINLY DUE TO NOTHING TO REPLACE IT WITH AND IT FOUND ITS FOOTING TO BECOME A LONG RUNNING SHOW THAT MADE MILLIONS. MANY GOOD SHOWS NEED TIME BUT ARE NOT GIVEN IT DUE TO PANDERING TO RATINGS AND TARGET AUDIENCES. OTHER SHOWS THAT WERE CANCELLED TO BE BROUGHT BACK TO MAKE THEM RICH Family Guy IN 2002 WAS YANKED NOW BACK ON THE AIR. Futurama IN 2003 MET THE SAME FATE AN OLDER SHOW Cagney and Lacey WAS GIVEN 1 YEAR BUT FANS BROUGHT IT BACK IT WENT ON TO EARN MANY AWARDS. LOOK AT FACTS OF LIFE A SHOW ON THE CHOPPING BLOCK AFTER 1 YEAR LASTED ALMOST 10. POINT IS SHOWS NEED TO BE GIVEN TIME
