  • Holly

Soo… Under/over on how many weeks it takes for the CW to beat FOX head-to-head?

  • Jonny C…. formerly Jon

    @ Holly

0…cuz Gossip Girl is too low for it to beat anything.

  • Ricardo

Where was *this* Fox when Lone Star started?

  • JBS

So those who complain about networks cancelling shows too soon with no chance to find an audience should be praising Fox, right?

  • Starship

Time to pull the Murdoch’s niece stars on the show fan excuse bingo card.

  • Jcc

Lets do a poll on how many of you were wrong about mob dr – let’s see how many of you respond ? I’ll say it once more fox likes this show and wants to nourish it along – it tested very good for them ! – they made the mistake if naming it mob dr instead of dirty medicine – you people should now admit your wrong and move on to the next show ( that you never watched) and hope your cute yoggie bear eats that !

  • Jared

I have a feeling at this point the production company behind The Mob Doctor is basically giving this series to FOX to allow a 13 episode order to air internationally. There is no other reason why FOX would have kept this series going with those kind of ratings.

  • antonio

I actually like Mob Doctor and will continue to watch as long as it remains on the schedule. Its really not a bad show at all and its getting really good. I blame Fox for the lack of viewers. They barely promoted the show before the premiere and never seemed to fully support the show from the beginning.

  • Dean-W

I hope FOX will order a full season for The Mob Doctor and move the show on Friday at 9/8c in January to replace Fringe.

  • Mary

I keep hearing so much about Mob Doctor that now I’m curious about it. I’ll have to check it out to see why Fox is so invested in keeping this show.

  • s0303

they have been showing a lot of commercials during baseball about the mob doctor’s return…so i’m not completely surprised….

    @ Jcc

You’re so delusional, but I like it! I’ve enjoyed the first 4 MD ep’s & look forward to the Nov “sweeps” (3 more ep’s), so enjoy them while you can. It’s only a matter of time, only later rather than sooner.

Keep doin’ what you’re doin’ FOX, really enjoying the show (so are the other Nets).

    @ Bill

I’m going to take my meds, already!

  • Samunto

Wasn’t FOX the network that would cancel failing shows the fastest?!!! Yea, they have absolutely nothing good in store to replace TMD sooner. Sad clowns!

  • Douglas from Brazil

    Oohh FOX…it’s a total flop!

  • Kyle7

@Jcc: Fine. While I don’t believe I’ve ever posted my views on The Mob Doctor’s ratings (in part because I don’t really care about the show one way or the other), I’ll admit that I assumed it’d be canceled by now, and I was wrong in that assumption.

How well the pilot tested is rather irrelevant, as it hasn’t been bringing in viewers, and that’s what matters (technically making money is what matters, but in broadcast you usually need lots of viewers to do so). Whether or not the network likes the show may help in cases of tossup-level ratings, but the suits are not going to keep stringing along a series getting record low numbers for a lengthy period of time.

  • Chgo mob

The Mob Doctor is a great show that’s why FOX didn’t cancel it . The ratings are low because is on Monday night against Monday night football and to top reality shows.

  • Feedback

They’re just burning off the episodes. Like Pan Am, they will cease to order more episodes when production finishes up, but it won’t be “canceled” in the traditional sense of the word. It’s a PR play more than anything. Fox doesn’t want to be the network that gives up on their shows. That’s why they made a big deal at ComicCon about how they should be getting “street cred” among the Sci-Fi community for sticking with Fringe for so long.

Fox doesn’t have anything else to put in Mob Doctor’s spot though. Maybe they should be looking to the booming successes of American Horror Story and The Walking Dead and start creating heavily serialized shows. People seem to be digging serialized programming over episodic procedurals nowadays.

Just because Mob Doctor is on the schedule doesnt mean all scheduled episodes will air. I still think that it will be pulled on November 6.

I have nothing against The Mob Doctor, however I am perturbed that its still on the air after dismal ratings yet Lone Star was pulled so quickly in 2010. -____-
