AMERICA DECIDES ON NBC’S ‘The Voice’ AS HIT SERIES GOES LIVE WITH BROADCASTS DURING ELECTION WEEK ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 5, WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 7 AND THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 8
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – October 22, 2012 – NBC’s “The Voice” gets “Election Fever” in a three-night event in which America will vote for the first time this season to help decide which artists get into the Top 12 as the popular vocal competition series will have special live broadcasts on Wednesday, November 7 (8-10 p.m. ET) and on Thursday, November 8 (8-9 p.m. ET) -- as well as its regular airing on Monday, November 5 (8-10 p.m. ET).

This will give the hit show five hours over three nights that week. “The Voice” will not be broadcast on Tuesday, November 6 due to NBC News’ Election Night coverage.

To date, "The Voice" is the #1 unscripted program on the major networks in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with the Monday edition averaging a 5.1 rating, 13 share in adults 18-49 and 13.9 million viewers overall. That makes "The Voice" the #4 series overall on ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49 and the #9 show in total viewers (excluding sports pre- and post-game shows).

"The Voice" is a vocal competition show that features celebrity musician coaches Christina Aguilera, CeeLo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as well as Carson Daly as host and Christina Milian as Social Media Correspondent. “The Voice” is a presentation of Mark Burnett’s One Three Media, Talpa Media USA Inc. and Warner Horizon Television. The series is created by John de Mol, who executive-produces along with Burnett, Audrey Morrissey, Stijn Bakkers and Lee Metzger.

  • NBC Sucks

    Voice wont kill XF.

    XF also has a solid 10 million audience that will watch it no matter what as seen by the premiere. The talent on XF is also better and more diverse in my unbiased opinion.

    But the idiocy of NBC, its like
    ~All my eggs was right here, man. But i dropped the basket.

    This is just massive over-saturation.

    @NBC Sucks
    But the idiocy of NBC… This is just massive over-saturation.

    You do realize that FOX did this with American Idol for a decade, right? That over-saturation didn’t seem to hurt it.

  • Bob

    This is sad. We want to get rid of all reality tv (except for Survivor, American Idol, Hell’s Kitchen, Shark Tank…lol. JK). Seriously, the only reason NBC is doing well is because of The Voice. Revolution is just the lucky show that follows or it would be down in the 1’s. Anyway, oversaturation is going to happen if the Voice is not careful and then what will NBC do? Don’t get crazy overthere. Oh and Guys with Kids is NBC’s best show. I wish it would get renewed. Hopefully with Jimmy Fallon at the helm, that may give it some hope. GWK’s seems like an ABC show…maybe they can pick up this masterpiece if it gets cancelled.

    @Ultima

    Not really. Fox doesn’t air AI twice in a year. The Voice will do fine this fall, will probably erode just a bit in the spring cycle, and by next fall should be no higher than 3.0

  • rob60990

    Ridiculous.

  • SJ

    Well, they only have one hit show. No wonder they want it on the air as many times as they possibly can. Just as well – the sooner they overexpose it, the sooner it will be gone.

  • Carm

    The Voice, X Factor and American Idol are three shows unique in their own way! They cannot be compared, Sure there is a basis finding a singer, but it is entirely different formats!!!!
    I LOVE ALL THREE!!

  • Carm

    @ SAM, you are an IDIOT!!! How dare you wish a show to fail. Don’t like it? THERE is many garbage shows out there to watch!!!

    PEOPLE ARE IDIOTS!! THEY PUT DOWN SHOWS THEY DON’T LIKE INSTEAD OF CHANGING CHANNEL!!!!!!

  • aiden

  • THE OLD MAN

    @aiden

    Oh a deluded Britney stan here!
    And how did this become a Britney/Xtina showdown?
    This is singing competition for Christ’s sake!
    Nobody cares about your more-than-a-decade-ago rivalry!

    You’re just sore because Britney failed to bring in the viewers for which she was paid for.

    And sorry, you can’t blame The Voice for FLOP FACTOR’s humiliating ratings!!!
    Hahaha!!! Look who’s the REAL LOSER!
    It’s you and your dying FLOP FACTOR!!!
