Definitions:
DVR (Time-shifted) Adults 18-49 Ratings – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs.
Live+Same Day(Live+SD) ratings include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing.
Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.
DVR Ratings Increase Past Airdate - How many people watched the show on their DVRs within 7 days following the airdate
Until the 2009-2010 season, we used a show's LIVE program rating or viewership as the base upon which the LIVE+7 day DVR viewing was added. Now, the press seems to be standardizing around using LIVE+SAME DAY DVR viewing as the base for the calculations, so that's what we do now as well.

Although it won’t matter for renewal or cancellation, I’ll be curious to see if Supernatural maintains it’s DVR increase or if the growth has come from people switching to live viewing.
Yeah great for Revolution the only success of the season!!!
Go Grimm!
wonder what Hart Of Dixie’s numbers were, it was the only other CW show that premièred that week?
OT: Arrow got its back 9 order! stephen amell just tweeted it
Yay Bones
Hammard I would suspect the increase is people coming back to live same day viewing (for the most part), and I think we will see a significant drop off in DVR growth next week, when we go from having the historical all time low .3 lead in (seriously has any other 9pm show ever had a lower original episode lead in for their opener? To a lead in that scores a 1.3.
I would expect that SPN might have actually shown growth with a more normal level lead in (say the networks typical .6).
The top 5 percentage gains on “C3″ Adult 18-49 average audience versus Live plus same day. Week of 10-1-12 (regularly scheduled programming only):
Grimm +22%
666 Park Ave +21%
Glee +14%
Elementary +13%
Revolution +12%
Prime average: -1%
Come on people, watch Grimm live. Scandal is not doing too bad in these numbers, but in the end, they do not count with the network.
Go On
((
Monday at Ten… The most DVR hour on Television.
Revolution +2.1 4.476M
Castle +1.0 3.508M
H50 +0.9 3.210M
Combines +4.0 in demo and 11,194M
Even when they are not on Fridays, SPN gets phenomenal DVR ratings
@Carl, thanks for those C3 numbers!
Is there anywhere I can see more than just the Top 25? That’s kind of frustrating.
Scandal, Last Resort and 666 all mad decent gains. Now if people could start watching those shows live
It’s weird that New Normal made the list and not Go On
@eridapo
That’s because those bleedin’ eejits at NBC, ABC and CBS have never heard of counterprogramming. They piled a bunch of shows that appeal to the same audience on at the same time. I watch all three of those shows.
I think Supernatural’s DVR increase will go down from there. Some people were probably watching the first debate that night, and there’s less incentive to settle in for an evening of TV and watch live when you don’t have two compatible shows lined up together.
That would probably help Grimm shift some of those DVRers to live watchers if it had another genre show on before it.
amazing increase for supernatural. well deserved!
amazing for glee!!! fifth season is coming glad!!!
scandal on the list glad too!!!
They should renew Glee now!
It won’t happen, but I can only wonder how potent Revolution @ Wednesdays 9 with Grimm @ Wednesdays 10 would be, partiularly if in both cases some DVR viewers switched to live viewing.
Monday @ 10 is an absolute dogpile of programming.
