Now, CBS News has obtained email alerts that were put out by the State Department as the attack unfolded. Four Americans were killed in the attack, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
… and the story continues to unravel. A cover up is never accectable to us.

President Obama Gives “Off-the-Record” Phone Call to Des Moines Register but Won’t Allow Paper to Print His Comments
Why would “Mr. Transparency” not want his comments revealed? Wanna bet it was due to Obama begging and/or intimidating the newspaper for an endorsement?
The Des Moines Register’s publisher and I spoke with President Barack Obama this morning — but we can’t tell you what he said.
Just four days before the Register’s presidential endorsement is released, Laura Hollingsworth and I received a phone call from the president. He was calling from Florida, on the heels of a morning campaign appearance and about 14 hours after his debate with GOP nominee Mitt Romney at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Fla.
The conference call lasted nearly 30 minutes and was an incredibly informative exchange of questions, answers and an insightful glimpse into the president’s vision for a second term. He made a genuine and passionate case for our endorsement and for reelection.
Just two weeks before Election Day, the discussion, I believe, would have been valuable to all voters, but especially those in Iowa and around the country who have yet to decide between the incumbent Democrat and his Republican opponent.

Unfortunately, what we discussed was off-the-record. It was a condition, we were told, set by the White House.
Yet, it also speaks to the transparency all voters should demand from the candidates. They want more than just repetitive sound bites on the campaign trail or rehearsed one-liners from debate stages.
Our expectation is that the answer to one of the most important questions the Register ever can ask a politician –- “Why should you be our president?” –- deserves to be shared with voters.
It’s unfortunate that did not happen today.

Senate candidate Richard Mourdock claimed that raped women should be forced to carry their rapist’s baby to term because their forced pregnancy is a “gift from God”:
I believe life begins at conception. The only exception I have for to have an @bortion is in the case of the life of the mother. I struggled with myself for a long time but I came to realize life is that gift from God, even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape. It is something that God intended to happen.

Obama is a know-nothing. Last night Monday nite) at the debate, Obama thought he had found a witty zinger to attack Mitt Romney, when he mocked the use of bayonets and horses. The idiot-in-chief doesn’t know that the Marines still use bayonets on their rifles. Now a bayonet company is ripping Obama for his idiocy.
According to the official U.S. Marine Corps website, every Marine is STILL required to complete a bayonet training program … because “the weapon becomes just as effective [as a rifle] in close combat situations.”

That directly contradicts a 2012 book from investigative journalist Bob Woodward — the Washington Post editor who, with Carl Bernstein, took down President Richard Nixon over the 1970s-era Watergate scandal.
“Then-OMB Director Jack Lew, now the White House chief of staff, and White House Legislative Affairs Director Rob Nabors pitched the idea to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), Woodward writes,” according to a Sept. 7 story appearing on the Politico website.

Obama – I understand your concerns Tom and as well as the history of this event. However I think the annual threat increase is a tradition that has out lived its usefulness.
Donilon – But Mr President, there are still threat around the world and to increase the condition would not impact any daily operations.
Obama – Tom it may not, but I think the Romney team could use the change in status to their advantage. Do we have any specific threats that we know of right now?
Donilon – No sir, there is chatter, but there is always chatter.
Obama – Without any true known threats I am not going to raise the condition at this time. I will not give that SOB one more thing to use against me.

More on the Libya Emails later…
Had great visits with my friends this week, Monday I got to visit the RNC guys and this morning the DNC folks. I already told you about the Monday visit. Now the DNC visit. I had breakfast there and we just talked and reviewed some info on what they could talk about. Of course they didn’t have a lot of the National Internal polling being a local HQ, but did have some.
First the good news for our Democratic friends. You can rest assured you have some wonderful dedicated people working hard for you and are not giving up and think they still have a shot. And they are good people who love their jobs. You’d be amazed how hard both parties are working now.
Now the bad news, the trending meter is going for Romney big time at this point. And the DNC guys are expressing a major concern on the email blockbuster release that showed the WH knew about the Libya attack within 2 hours and the fact that President Obama may have been notified about it. CBS is digging hard and deep now and is supposed to have a big story on it tonight.
The DNC people think they can overcome it, but it is a concern. As for Trumps announcement today? And Gloria Allred’s announcement? This kind of stuff is a laughing stock type thing that gets a lot of laughs. We all talked about the shock factor in them and the most these things have ever done is 1-2 points’ difference, and sometimes they even backfire and hurt the one that it was supposed to help.
So all of you on BOTH sides don’t panic, in a couple of days it goes away and gets back to normal.

CBS is working on a story about President Obama personally being notified about the attack within a few hours. One angle is they covered it up so the fundraising trip to Vegas would not look so bad.
I guess maybe Chicago didn’t feel like the adoring media would pursue this.
To our friends on the left, I said from the beginning this could be something that ends this White Houses chances for re-election, this story is like a cancer that will only grow and have a domino effect. And just note, it will affect the House and Senate races in time as well.
They cannot run nor hide from this any longer, and some in the MSM are going to demand a full blown Libya only press conference as early as today.
