Update: Happy Endings premiered to a 1.9 and Don't Trust The B premiered to a 1.7 last night.  Your predictions were too optimistic!

Tonight sees the premieres of Don't Trust The B in Apt 23 and Happy Endings on ABC. Both sitcoms are moving to Tuesdays from their former Wednesday timeslots, which could be an issue as Dancing with the Stars isn't exactly the lead-in it used to be. Still, both series have loyal fanbases, so maybe that won't matter. Cast your vote for how you think these comedies will premiere tonight and tell us why in the comments!

Handicapping Info: Don't Trust The B in Apt 23 premiered to a 2.9 last year and its finale earned a 2.4 adults 18-49 ratingHappy Endings earned a 3.1 for its second season premiere last year but fell to a 1.7 for its finale.

    2.0 for Happy Endings
    1.8 for Apartment 23

    Hoping for better ratings

  • Cory

    I was the first votes!

    I’ll go 2.6 for HE, 2.2 for B in 23.

  • victor hugo

    Happy Endings: 2.0 ratings
    Don`Trust the B in Apt 23: 1.7 ratings

  • Tyler

    2.4 – Happy Endings
    1.9 – Apt 23

    Hope I’m wrong, but I’m guessing they’ll be mostly stable over the season.

  • jake

    I guess 2.2 for HE and 2.4 for APT 23.

  • SJ

    Lots of Negative Nellies on here, I see…

    2.5 for Happy Endings, 2.3 for Apartment 23, although I am hoping for more.

  • Bunny

    Happy Endings 1.7

    I hope SONY will help HE out when they need it the most.

  • Jack S

    Everyone seems to be a lot more optimistic than I am! Against the similar skewing FOX comedies, I don’t see either cracking a 2.0

  • Greg

    Happy Endings: 2.3.
    Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23: 2.0.

    Probably being a little optmistic, but this is by far the best comedy hour of any network, I hope it succeeds.

    After Modern Family, these are easily my 2 favorite sitcoms on TV. Both casts are impeccable. I’ll be happy if both debut with a 2.0 or higher (and can stay in that range over the course of the season). These are HORRIBLE timeslots on abc…

  • Jack S

    Oops, I forgot The X Factor was on rather than Mindy. Point still stands for HE and that won’t help Apartment 23.

  • Tyler

    @SJ

    I still think that Apt23 is untested and doesn’t really have the fanbase to handle that sort of move. HE, baseline, proved to have a 1.8-1.9 audience sans a MF lead-in.

  • James

    I really like Don’t Trust the B but I have little faith in both show’s ability to perform without the Modern Family lead-in and against two other already settled comedies.

    Owing to its weaker competition, I think Don’t Trust the B will do better, but they’ll both be in cancellation territory after a few weeks.

    Please prove me wrong.

  • Bunny

    Whether Happy Endings will get cancelled this year or not… 3 years is still a good run! I wish them the best!

  • Auu

    As long as both comedies stay above the 2.0 for the rest of the season, they’ll be fine. After all, Sony is known for creating zombies and the ABC execs love those shows. They’re cheap as well. :D

  • SJ

    Oh, I see the polls have changed now. I must have been one of the first ones voting.

    @Tyler

    Yeah, but I think the point is that these two shows share an audience and that ABC is hoping that ~95% of Happy Endings’ audience stays on for Apartment 23, which is something I can definitely see happening.

    New Girl isn’t really that much of a threat. The show gets a 2.7 on a good day and it stands to reason that the similarly-skewing Happy Endings will steal some of the audience. As for DWTS lead-in, no matter if that show gets a 5.0 or a 2.0, it won’t help or hurt Happy Endings, as they have totally different audiences.

  • glover

    Happy Endings 2.1
    Don’t Trust the B 1.7

  • Tyler

    @SJ

    I agree. I wouldn’t be too surprised if both shows got in the mid to low 2s. I wouldn’t be surprised by lower, but I think both of them will be fine. ABC has bigger issues, mainly its dramas.

  • Honey Badger

    I predict under 1.8 for both shows, Don’t Trust The B in Apt 23 and Happy Endings, and ABC will cancel both shows before the season ends

    look at the ratings power shows at other networks they are going against

  • Honey Badger

    @ Jack S good point, I agree
