Update: Happy Endings premiered to a 1.9 and Don't Trust The B premiered to a 1.7 last night.  Your predictions were too optimistic!

Tonight sees the premieres of Don't Trust The B in Apt 23 and Happy Endings on ABC. Both sitcoms are moving to Tuesdays from their former Wednesday timeslots, which could be an issue as Dancing with the Stars isn't exactly the lead-in it used to be. Still, both series have loyal fanbases, so maybe that won't matter. Cast your vote for how you think these comedies will premiere tonight and tell us why in the comments!

Handicapping Info: Don't Trust The B in Apt 23 premiered to a 2.9 last year and its finale earned a 2.4 adults 18-49 ratingHappy Endings earned a 3.1 for its second season premiere last year but fell to a 1.7 for its finale.

Eh? At best, New Girl is a mid-to-high 2s show. It even got as low as a 2.3 last year. It’s not a powerhouse. And Go On is the same, though even more untested and most likely untested in terms of solidifying an audience compared to New Girl or Happy Endings.

And Apt23 is going against shows that hover around a 1.9 and 2.0, The New Normal and Mindy (though not today). That’s not really a power house either, though I would definitely agree that Happy Endings would be much more likely for a renewal than Apt 23.

It will be like when Cougar Town was moved to tuesdays and then get cancelled…It’s Modern Family curse!Every show it premiered after MF and then was moved to another timeslot is cancelled.

    Happy Endings – 1.6
    Don’t trust B.. – 1.7

  • Honey Badger

I predict under 1.8 for both shows, Don’t Trust The B in Apt 23 and Happy Endings, and ABC will cancel both shows before the season ends

look at the ratings power shows at other networks they are going against:

NCIS: Los Angeles , Go On , The New Normal, New Girl, and The X Factor

    @Douglas from Brazil

That is currently a… one show trend. And Cougar Town is still around, albeit on another network.

  • Tyson

    Happy Endings: 1.9
    Apartment 23: 1.6

    Comedy block prospects: DOA

  • Jimmy

FOX has nothing on these HILARIOUS shows. Happy Endings is by far the best comedy series out there right now. It’s going to be Ah-mahzing!

  • Travis

2.4 for Don’t Trust the B, 2.3 for Happy Endings.

  • SJ

Prediction: Happy Endings and Body of Proof, the only remaining shows from ABC’s horrendous 2010-2011 slate, will both get to syndication. HE because it’s produced by Sony and BoP because it keeps winning some LA TV show lottery or something which makes it dirt cheap to make.

    @Honey Badger

Quit posting the same thing over and over again, especially when it’s nonsense! That’s a good way to get banned.

  • Honey Badger

    @ SJ LOL

  • Jon23812

    2.4 for both.

  • Honey Badger

@ SJ check back tomorrow I will be right

  • MARSEPH

    Happy Endings 1.7
    Apartment 23 1.6

  • Jimmy

@Travis Totally agree. Even though it’s same time slot as New Girl and The New Normal, HE and DTTB— will get steady good numbers.

  • João Paulo

    2.5 for Happy Endings

  • PV

    Happy Endings 2.1
    Ap. 23 1.5

  • Matt

    Happy Endings – 2.6 / 6.8M
    Apt. 23 – 2.3 / 5.4M

  • Dan S

I’m guessing 2.3-2.4 for both shows tonight. Of course I’m hoping Apt 23 does well since it’s so wickedly funny. Not sure if airing against X-Factor will matter since I don’t think they share the same audience where Mindy Project could. Also not sure if New Normal will be a real threat to Apt 23. Airing 3 hour long comedy blocks against each other is crazy programming.

Dancing with the Stars – 2.1
    Happy Endings – 2.4
    Don’t Trust the B in Apartment 23 – 2.2
    Private Practice – 1.7
