   I suspect Alphas will get a season three, if not more.

   The finale was terrific. I have no idea why Gary was spared, though. But based on the theory, all the Alphas should recover (including Parrish who should recover from his head shot like he did in the Civil War since Rosen never injected him with the drugs.) Everyone else in Grand Central Station should be dead.

   Summer had some fun lines. “Whatever. Yay, team…”

   They literally can’t cancel Alphas after that cliffhanger. It’s not really doing that much worse then warehouse 13, and hopefully DVD sales and revenue from Netflix can help its cause.

   If they make Skylar a regular then the ratings will definitely be better…

    Alphas was an average ep,/finale but an excellent cliffhanger/end….i think Gary was uneffected due to him being autistuc + same reason wny Nina can’t push him…his brain works different.

    No idea about renewal…we’ll see…..
    S@B did well for it’s finale and i suspect PLL will pulverise everything in female 12-34. I predict 2.9m and a 1.3 demo 18-49, but much higher in W18-34….set records for Twitter and social network stuff.

    ABCF seem to really covet social media numbers.

    Hooray! Alphas was the highest-rated first-run scripted cable drama of the night!

    OTOH, it may have been the ONLY first-run scripted cable drama of the night! (Or at least the only one on this list.) So maybe it was the highest-rated *and* the lowest-rated first-run scripted cable drama of the night. Bummer!

    I hope there will be a season three. That’s not very nice of the writers to end a low-rated season with a cliffhanger, knowing it might not get renewed.

    Alphas won’t get a third season. I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Nothing against the show, just the ratings aren’t really that good at all.

    Tired of discussing this really. Happy to quote this topic if people go all nuts at me for having an opinion grounded in reality, which is different to their own once the cancellation press release comes out.

    Cancellations suck in general. I’m not a fan. I just hope when the news is made public some of the more regular posters here post in shock saying OMG I DIDN’T SEE THAT COMING when the numbers have been dire for a while.

    I was hoping they weren’t going to do a cliffhanger like this.

    I really hate when this happens and the show gets cancelled.

    It’s the only good thing on SyFy.

    SyFy you NEED to renew Alphas. The story arcs and the quality of acting is gripping – particularly in S02 eps 8/9/10 – just incredible.

    The season finale of Alphas was amazing and of course Summer Glau was amazing in it too, I love how Gary in the train station walks around everyone that has fallen because of what parish did by using skylar, Gary is the only one who didn’t fall, again amazing ending for a season finale.

    The cliffhanger calls for a third season.

    We know the numbers as much as you do. It’s just that you’re the voice of reason while we’re Alphas (and Summer Glau) enthusiasts

    Showing the show some love can’t do now harm and frankly, this thread would be boring without one of two fans comments, not to mention it offers you the opportunity to comment yourself.

    We knew they’ll end the season on a cliffhanger, regardless of what the ratings are or the chances of it being renewed. Simply because the season finished filming BEFORE the first episode of season 2 aired.

    Alphas’s showrunner Bruce Miller had no other choice than filming the season finale as if there would be a season 3.

    I know that it doesn’t mean anything -or I care.since I think the show is crap- but yesterday PLL was on fire on social network. According to trendrr.tv, it got more than 1 MILLION mentions!!! The only show I’ve seen doing better was The Walking Dead.

    Give credit when the credit is due.

    When preparing the season finale, the writers of Alphas can’t possibly know, months in advance, whether their show will be renewed, so obviously they’ll design the most dramatic cliffhanger possible. The ratings are pretty lame. However, SyFy loves the show creatively, and they don’t have too much else to offer on the network right now. So maybe if the numbers crunch the right way, they can still squeeze out another season? Here’s hoping.
