@ Amanda…“National ratings for the Presidential Debate have been sustained by Nielsen as it ran without commercials, but you can find the final numbers for each network’s “analysis” segment below.”
WTF does that mean? Can you please use correct English?! “Sustained” is NOT the proper word usage. Here are the 4 most common definitions of the word:
sus·tain
? ?[suh-steyn]
verb (used with object)
1.
to support, hold, or bear up from below; bear the weight of, as a structure.
2.
to bear (a burden, charge, etc.).
3.
to undergo, experience, or suffer (injury, loss, etc.); endure without giving way or yielding.
4.
to keep up or keep going, as an action or process: to sustain a conversation.
A far more accurate way to phrase this would have been: “National ratings for the Presidential Debate have been withheld by Nielsen because the program ran without commercials, but you can find the final numbers for each network’s “analysis” segment below.”
If TVBTN can’t get writers that can write with proper grammatical content, then I offer my services. At least I have a degree in English and can compose a proper sentence!!
BTW ,, for those that bash the CW ,, did you know ,,
++
Some CW shows are getting paid more for their shows then those on the major networks ,,
++
Arrow averages $62,995 , per 30 second ad ,
Vampire Diaries average $61,887, per 30 seconds.
++
Compare this to
NBC Rock Center that gets $30,950
NBC Chicago Fire that gets $60,058
CBS CSI NY that gets $58,206 ,

Sustained is the word Nielsen and the rest of the TV industry uses, and it means, as Amanda noted, that it ran without commercials.
Direct your ridiculous tirade elsewhere.
@Robert Seidman
I do understand what I am talking about. Yeah, its obvious that W18 – 34 numbers are always better than or equal to that of the A18 – 49 demo for every show on CW.
I hope I can make myself clear with these words:
When one really looks at the A 18 – 49 numbers of 90210, the first thought that would strike one’s mind is “Holy Crap! Put this show out of its misery!!”. This is what many posters on the first page of this thread posted. On the other hand, when one looks at the W18 – 34 rating it so appears that people are at least giving a damn about this show. They look a little more “respectable”. Something CW could use for its PR.
In short, its just a matter of perception. And if you bring relative ratings(which is what truly matters) into the picture I agree that both GG and 90210 are disasters in any demo, but need not be cancelled immediately.
I really struggled with my English to type this post. I hope I don’t sound more crazy.
@KS: I understand you I just disagree that the perception matters. Sure, 0.8 looks bigger than 0.4, but .8 is still to 1.0 as 0.4 is to 0.5. To me, it looks the same either way because mathematically, it is.
Surprised DWTS did not adjust down. Getting rid of Bristol helped.
THE VOICE IS A BEAST!!! We’ll see how it does against X Factor today/tonight! thoughts?
Um, the Voice & X Factor aren’t airing against each other tonight.

Whitney needs to be cut , it only makes $47,042, per 30 second spot , that puts it in the mid range of the CW shows , and the least desirable scripted show for advertisers on any of the big 3 networks ,
@Joseph A
Just burn off Whitney and provide an OK lead-in for Guys with Kids…then cancel it after burning off its episodes..

The Voice and X Factor already faced off before (season premiere of X Factor) and The Voice came out on top.
Did you know that?
Kelly Monaco has my vote.
Dwts good season .
Not much to say. Every network did pretty well.
Debates screw up everything. Missed Revolution.
