SEVEN MONTHS

HOSTED BY BRUNO MARS, 'SNL' ATTRACTS ITS BIGGEST VIEWERSHIP SINCE MARCH
3

SEASON TO DATE, 'SNL' ORIGINALS ARE UP VS. LAST YEAR IN 18-49 BY 7 PERCENT

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - October 25, 2012 - The October 20 edition of
"Saturday Night Live," hosted by Bruno Mars, has delivered the show's
biggest overall audience in more than seven months.

The October 20 telecast averaged a 2.5 rating, 10 share in adults 18-49 and
7.2 million viewers overall. That 7.2 million is the biggest viewership for
"SNL" since a March 3 telecast hosted by Lindsay Lohan and featuring musical
guest Jack White, which averaged 7.4 million.

In adults 18-49, last weekend's edition is the top "Saturday Night Live"
since the September 22 episode hosted by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and featuring
musical guest Mumford & Sons, which earned a 2.6.

Versus "Saturday Night Live's" year-ago average for October originals, last
weekend's telecast was up 19 percent in adults 18-49 (with a 2.5 rating vs.
a 2.1) and up 18 percent in total viewers (7.2 million vs.
6.1 million).

"Saturday Night Live" was the #1 telecast of the night on ABC, CBS, NBC and
Fox in 18-49 and total viewers, outscoring all Saturday primetime programs
on those networks.

In national ratings so far this season, original telecasts of "Saturday
Night Live" are up versus one year ago by 7 percent in 18-49 rating (with a
2.9 vs. a 2.7, "most current") and up 4 percent in total viewers
(7.5 million vs. 7.2 million).

I’m really glad for them but I really can’t imagine why. The current cast right now is missing a really strong female lead.

  • Mark Wilkins

and what was so great about this episode that made more people tune in? For me it was opening sketch and the Pandora one, thats it.

Gosh, it’s really evident now that Kristen Wiig was this show. She is missed dearly. Same with Andy Samburg – where are the digital shorts? :( Producers really need to get their act together and a) bring them back for a few guest appearances, b) do some better casting, or c) create some memorable characters that the females can branch out in.

Get over it. Digital shorts were rarer and of a different style before Samberg showed up. The digital short with Bruno Mars in a costume in Times Square wasn’t bad. There’s plenty of female talent and in case you havn’t noticed Kate McKinnon has been killing it.

I watch SNL every week, but as soon as i saw Bruno Mars’ name up for host and guest i turned the channel. That talentless hack shouldnt even be allowed near a stage let alone one that has be home to some of the greatest comedians of all time. If they are that desperate for a host to relate to children just get scooby doo!

BRUNO MARS — YOU ARE AWESOME! Have watched faithfully since 1975, great years versus comic trash waste of life efforts. So, I’m an expert on good, bad and ugly SNL. Bruno is just a great comic actor and he amazed me. BTW, the puppy costume skit is about as good as it gets, and as heartwarming as anything I’ve ever seen. It is a must see for all humanity, me thinks.

I have this show on PROTECT on DVR. To keep in perpetuity!

I love, luv, Meyers job on the news. It is always classic satire without being as Marxist cheerleading as the very unfunny political skit openers.
They are getting SOOOOOOOOO vilely, viciously Left/worse it’s kinda scary/sickening. Unless you’re a Marxist, that is. Then it’s a canned laugh howl I guess, because I hear hear the forced/canned laughs behind it.
