    @tv by the numbers

    Can you guys give us the total viewers and demo for this years World Series vs the NBA finals. It seems the NBA is getting closer and closer to beating the World Series. I think they already do easily in the demo but not in the viewers. Thanks.

    How are college kids ignored? What about that episode where Sam and Dean went to a college where trickster had been pranking students? What about the Samheine Halloween episode? What about the season one episode where Sam goes back to see his friend from college? Or the one that that college kid resurrected his dead GF? The show has never ignored college kids. Each season has at least one or two episodes with them in it.

    Also this is not the first time we see the victim’s perspective as this had been done way better in the episode called “Heart” and with a much better actress.

    If the CW really wants to skew the show young all they have to do is give us some more interesting characters like Kevin. He’s pretty young (college age as we know,) and he is awesome. They don’t have to highjack an entire episode and make us watch a different show. I would have never in a million years watched that episode if it didn’t have the label of Supernatural on it, and not because I don’t like college kids, because the story and the execution were terrible. But maybe you didn’t watch the movies Chronicle, Teen Wolf or The Blair Witch Project so this was all new to you.

    And isn’t “The River” a show that got cancelled? Figures.

    @ Bill
    I don’t agree. I think Hawaii Five-0 will move to Sunday at 9/8c to replace The Good Wife.
    On Friday i well see a new comedy at 8, Rules of Engagement at 8:30, the final season of CSI: NY at 9 and Blue Bloods at 10. After all CSI: NY is not doing so bad for a nine-years-old show on Friday and a new comedy could hit a 2.0 and thank to that CBS could have a “good” monday night without low rated comedies.

    @Serial Rocker

    So because a few of your buddies watch sports over a few shows, everyone does? I’ve looked at the ratings for the last couple of years. And sports never effect shows. It’s a fact now. Arrow was going to go down people. I can’t stand it anymore. If it wasn’t sports, you would have made another excuse. Stop with the excuses. If your show is down, it’s just down. Period. The excuses on this site have got to stop. I don’t see football hurting Revolution or Once Upon a Time. People will watch the show if they want to watch the show.

    I think Nashville is still fine. As long as it stays in the 2’s and doesn’t drop into the 1’s, it will easily be renewed. The story is great, the actors/performances are amazing, and the music is OUTSTANDING. I think it has stabilized, and for the rest of the season will score between 2.0 – 2.3. I also think that’s just fine. Nashville = Renewed.

    @Serial Rocker

    Can only imagine the outcry if they’d gone with a Benny-centric episode!

    I would’ve vastly preferred that. In fact I would’ve loved that over both last week and this week’s episodes.

    Also it isn’t true that the half hour drop in viewers was Arrow fans switching off. SPN facebook page is full of comments from viewers who say they turned the show off because the shaky cam made them dizzy. Equally are those who say they couldn’t stand the lame acting/story and changed the channel.

  • Mike3

    @Joe NBA does in viewers now as well. NBA finals game 1 drew over 16.5 million. It seems like the NBA has a lot more teams that can draw viewers than MLB. All MLB has is Yankees or Red Sox. NBA has Heat, OKC, Lakers, Knicks, Bulls, Clippers and maybe more. If the Nets are good than they will draw as well now that they moved to Brooklyn.

    Stop making excuses your show was down because of the World Series. No other shows were down because of the World Series. And there were other male type shows on wed night. Enough with the excuses. Shows have to go against football which does so much better than the World Series. Sports don’t effect ratings for regular shows.

    Sure, you tell me why the show was down? Because Supernatural is an awful, terrible, unbearable show with lame actors and a boring story? Is that what you want me to admit?

    Well guess what? If you’d bothered reading all my posts, instead of jumping in with your drive by comment and feeling grand about it, you would’ve noticed that I agree with that about last night’s episode. It was bad and it paid the price. Now move aside and let me finish my talk with the fans who think the episode was great.

  • IceCreamSunday

    “Completely agree with you. And from the past experiences I can say, Supernatural fandom is always on a mission to hate and drive the hot chicks out of the show. Best examples are Bela and Ruby.”

    Which Ruby? The first one that was talented, hot, and interesting, or the second one that was sour-faced and bland?

    You’re not the only one who would have welcomed a Benny ep. At least he’s connected to Dean. Who cares about three random children?

  • Tessa

    Also Arrow was down too in case you didn’t notice.

  • Freyja

    I so agree with you, while it looked great on paper it was poorly executed. No one cares about 3 teens we don’t know, and to top it off it was bad acting only the girl showed some promise.

    I turned it off half way through… Came back in the last 10 minutes, with the girls confession.

    We always have one bad episode each season, so with this one behind us I can’t wait for next weeks. ;)

  • lol

    If the NFL regular season games don’t affect other shows ratings, how can the world series? A sunday night football game gets around 20 million. You don’t see that doing anything to the mighty walking dead. I doubt 12 million WS viewers would hurt CW shows. Especially since baseball skews older and CW has a lot of female fans.

  • Tessa

    Benny is connected to Dean but he is also an interesting character in his own right. Ty Olsson is a great actor and I enjoy watching his scenes. An episode with him would’ve been great but I guess the kids were cheaper.

  • Freyja

    What other male oriented programs where on last night? Comedies, are not male oriented last time I checked LOL

    Sports always take away from male oriented shows, at least from past experience. However; this episode of SPN wasn’t it’s best either, neither was Arrow. ;)

  • Tessa

    I’ve seen the promos for next week and it looks great. More Benny, Cas and purgatory goodness. It’s the only thing keeping me rooted to this season.

  • Serial Rocker

    I’d have been okay with a Benny episode too. Of all the new characters they’ve introduced over the years, he’s probably the most interesting one since Castiel, and certainly provides the most story potential. Really looking forward to seeing what they do with him.

  • Freyja

    Yes, Benny is a very interesting character, and I can’t wait to learn more about him and Dean… =) This season is going to be a long ride..

    the middle wasn’t even on where i live there was a debate on instead

  • LT

    NBA is star driven. Stars can get high ratings even with small markets such as OKC(which is really small). Seems like baseball has only two or three teams that can draw. This WS has stars and loads of them. Verlander, Fielder, Cabrera, Cain, Posey, Panda. It still doesn’t seem to help at all.

  • don juan

    as far as the neighbors goes, a 2.0 probably won’t cut it on abcs strongest comedy block. it will probably be moved or cancelled
