Anderson Cooper is just as idiotic on CNN as he was on his daytime talk show but I’m not female so I can’t relate to him.

  • Marissa

So glad to see GH increasing! It’s the best soap on the air right now. SOOO GOOOD!

  • TimsDale4ever

WMD, I may be wrong but I think those 2 stories came to a screeching hault BEFORE JG and JFP took over. But even if they did, these 2 stories were the ONLY really interesting things on the entire show to me. The rest of it was a snooze fest or something we’ve seen before for the millionth time. So now, let’s get rid of these 2 somewhat “interesting” stories and show Victor and Jack fighting over Newman again, or Victor and Nikki becoming engaged, AGAIN.

This show despartely needs new stories and at this point I don’t have alot of faith that JG/JFP is going to deliver the goods.

  • MBmomof3

TimsDale, I totally agree with you on Y&R…but if it gives you hope…IMO GH & DOOL had those same problems during regime changes only to correct them for the most part and become must-see TV again. My order of watchability is GH, DOOL, BB, YR.

  • reader

CBS hired a new HW and EP to balance the budget. That’s all the care about: they don’t care if the show is better or not.

  • WMD

TimsDale4ever: The day that the judge dismissed Phyllis’s case, was the first day that JG had a writing credit. As for the other story…looking back, it seems that MAB did indeed leave that one hanging for a few weeks, but JG has done nothing to push that story along (unlike pretty much every other story currently on the canvas). A toss-up I guess… I won’t give a final verdict until JG has had time to sort everything out. Could be a while.

  • What

GH will be getting canceled soon without jason this show is nothing!! A lot of people watch for jason I doubt bringing back AJ the same day jason dies is gonna bring ratings. The way they killed off jason was so disrespectful to the actor and fans these writers are all about their OLTL pets gtfo tired of these OLTL characters on gh it’s lame Todd, Starr and especially that cop John are horrible actors. Ratings were high because sam got her baby back it will go back to 1.0 soon haha

  • David

Way to go GH so glad to see the numbers going up. The show overall is great.

@What in regard to Jason, one of the biggest complaints has been that there was too much of Jason. His being gone will not kill the ratings. With AJ’s return, Duke’s return and Robert Scorpio’s return coming up please now givinvg a focus on Monica (Leslie Charleson ahs been tremendous!) and many other things the ratings will continue to go up.

As for the people saying Days is better than GH well all i can say is the numbers show which show is being watched more!

  • MBmomof3

    @David, DITTO!

To the Y&R fans, I’m a little worried. My daughter and I watched a mini-marathon of Hollywood Heights on demand last night. It was sooooo bad we were literally laughing so hard at how bad it was our eyes were watering! Where do I begin? The dialogue, storylines, the costumes, hair and makeup, everything was so completely awful my daughter (who will be 19 y.o. in 2 days) said it was worse than watching a bad show on the Disney Channel with the over-acting. And she grew up watching Hanna Montana!

It’s actually sad, because the writer and co-producer is Josh Griffith and I liked his previous work on soaps. Larry Carpenter was the director, who’s work I’m a big fan of, and of course the infamous JFP is EP. Also, they credited “special guest star” James Franco and he wasn’t on any of the 4 episodes we sampled. At least that I can remember. The only bright spot was Brittany Underwood who used to portray Langston on OLTL. Oh, highly featured were that awful duo of nuSummer and nuNoah, basically playing the same characters they play on Y&R. Oh my I think Y&R is in trouble:(

  • Sophie

Jason was my favorite on GH. But there are alot more good stories besides Jason. It’s a balance of the whole show. They have couples I love to watch. There are so many great actors on GH. I agree the ratings show. It’s the best it’s been in years! Love the OLTL characters now too!

I hope Days improves more, Im a huge fan from South Africa where this soap is probably the most watched international soap in our country. Im so excited because DRAKE HOGESTYN , ARIANNE ZUCKER & GALEN GERING is in our country this week and by the looks they are enjoying every moment of it.South Africa is a country of it’s own and is very modern amd I must say don’t believe everything you see on tv!Today the above cast members were in Sandton City and on the 2nd of November they will be in Cape Town the most beautiful city in the world, google these amazing places.I do follow days on my mobile phone daily , i make use of our bus system, it’s more convenient and cheaper when using your own car.Days attracts about between 2 or 2.5 million viewers daily which is excellent considering our population to be close to 50 million. How I miss the excitement of soaps when they aired in the 80’s especially Santa Barbara, Loving and Y & R,obviously Days as well.THe only local soap oo;era that I follow is Isidingo (The NEED) but I must admit lately Im just watching DSTV, It showcases the latest shows from the States / Britian and the movies is excellent. I just wish Days could remain longer on air and not get cancelled, like OLTL, AMC & GL.Its a pity I could not see the days cast members in Sandton as I WORK FIVE MINUTES AWAY! too busy with our month end reports in the office!American vierwers needs to be loyal to their soaps it should be treated like gold as it is also watched in other parts of the world.

JG’s material started airing on the 12th and MAB’s name was gone a week later, I believe.

Josh admitted he wasn’t going to rewrite the storylines, but he obviously just scrapped them. Abby’s goodbye wasn’t even addressed. Harmony’s gone…he’s left a lot unaddressed which I always hate.

I’m okay with starting fresh stories, but so far the transition has been jarring at best.

  • TimsDale4ever

Y&R needs more business storylines. We have Jack as the new owner of Newman, which Victor says he no longer cares about (right!), and is angry because his son Nick, who worked there 2 seconds ago, doesn’t really care about fighting for anymore — so his sister Victoria (who I believe works for yet another company) convinces her husband Billy to work for Jack in order to spy. Now Jack hires Phyllis for God knows only what; Katherine decides to return to Chancellor Industries which her son(?) Tucker (another business man) doesn’t approve of; Chloe & Kevin have started the “Tag & Grab” online company with the help of Adam – who is also wanting to work at Newman. And on and on. This show gets bogged down in one type of storyline and it’s all you see for weeks. Next I suppose all the female characters will be pregnant at the same time — then we’ll have 8 new characters come aboard and they’re all be gay at the same time — then we’ll have 6 characters all killed within the same week……. This show does not know how to balance it’s storylines out so that you have multiple TYPES of storylines going on at the SAME TIME so that you do not alienate your viewers.

Can anyone tell I am REALLY unhappy with this show which seems to be getting worse by the episode? I wish they’d turn it over to me for a few months. ANYTHING I tried could only be an improvement.

  • ebarryhill

You guys who think GH will be cancelled because one character, Jason, is gone…. are delusional. GH lost Laura and others who were far more pivotal. It’s the nature of soaps. Fans (supposedly) of soaps should not have to spit on one soap, to feel like they support another soap. So rude and pathetic. There are only 4 left, they all deserve support.

  • JayTN

TimsDale4ever…I would disagree about having “business” storylines. Personally, I think most “business” storylines are boring…who wants to see a bunch of people sitting around a boardroom table? Is this Y&R or “The Apprentice”? I don’t mind “business” storylines, but they should be “B” storylines, not “A” storylines.

MBmomof3…I mentioned this awhile back, but I was flipping thru the channels one day during the summer and ran across “Hollywood Heights”. I just stayed for a few minutes, but the only thing I remembered was the cheesy looking sets (I think it was a kitchen scene with Brittany Underwood and another actress, perhaps playing her mother/guardian). If people think the “Days” sets are cheap looking, they are miles better than the sets I saw on “Hollywood Heights”…they looked like community theatre sets, only cheaper.

Anderson Cooper’s daytime talker may soon be history, but there are still more people lining up to take his place. Among the people who will be launching their own shows next fall are Queen Latifah (for the second time) and Bethanny Frankel (of “Real Housewives” fame). Kris Jenner – a.k.a. Kim Kardashian’s mother – is also rumored to be shopping around for a talk show.

Kayla Rae/”Days” fans…I am so glad to see a well-rounded, multi-dimensional character like Nick give his opinion on the Will/Sonny coupling and at least get other characters to (begrudingly) see his point of view and that he is not a bigot. If only more characters were like Nick instead of being made out to be one-dimensional mustache twirling villains.

I had thought that the “Days” writers were going to copy the Michael prison rape storyline from GH and have Nick be sexually assaulted during his own stint in prison and use that as a reason for his reaction to Will & Sonny.

  • TimsDale4ever

I just about fell over last night. I was waiting for something to come on at 9 so I watched the last part of DAYS on soapnet. I was blown away that they actually had a character say they thought Will’s lifestyle is wrong WITHOUT making this character out to be an a##hole. Cudos to the writing team on that one. Usually when someone comes out on one of these shows, EVERY other character flings there arms around them in total joy exclaiming how proud they are of them. Huh??? Contrary to belief, there are alot, and I mean ALOT of people that are not comfortable or believe in this lifestyle WITHOUT wanting to cause harm to these people or be hateful. They have the right to their opinion as well. That’s just the way it is and it’s ALWAYS going to be that way — and that’s OK too.

  • MBmomof3

TimsDale4ever, JayTN…I watched DOOL and agree that Nick’s response, as well as Lucas’ to Will’s coming out are very realistic, well-written and portrayed. TimsDale expressed it very well. It has been a pleasant surprise and has made the storyline very credible and watchable for me.

  • TimsDale4ever

…and speaking of DAYS (with my 15 minute or so sample last night) this show is soooooooooooooooo deserving of much, much, better ratings. The scenes zipped along WAY before this viewer became bored (take a page Y&R); loved the chick who is about to leave town with a lie of some sort. I missed whatever Will and that guy were arguing about but it appeared it was going to turn in to a “it’s because you’re gay” conclusion. Eileen Davidson said more in that 15 minutes than she has said for years on Y&R, lol. She suits that character very well imo. Maybe, when I completely give up on Y&R, I’ll pick up DAYS to get my soap fix — and apparantly that “might” be before the year ends.

  • MBmomof3

That’s what I meant about hope for Y&R…6 months or so ago DOOL was a hot mess and I saw little hope for a turnaround. They had yet another reboot/regime change and now I think it is the best it has been in years. It was shakey at first, but then we had some buildup to the “Daysaster”, the Olympics break, and it has been pretty much on track since then. Same with GH IMO. It had become unwatchable to me under Phelps/Guza. If it hadn’t been for OLTL’s cancellation and all that went down, it wouldn’t be “my story” today. Y&R was an awesome soap, it could be great again.

But, fans are not going to be too patient. They need to step-it-up ASAP!

  • Kayla Rae

Yes, @Jay, Days is doing a great job with the Will/Sonny/Nick gay storyline. I am hoping that, in time, Nick will gradually come around to accept that being gay is not a negative thing. It would be a beautiful unfolding for his character to eventually have his eyes opened up to the beauty of non-judgemental acceptance. I am really enjoying this plot and look forward to seeing what happens! Go Days! Go LGBT community!
