Note: The Thursday Night NFL Network Buccaneers/Vikings game was simulcast on the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis. As a result the numbers for NBC are likely inflated and subject to more than typical adjustments in the final numbers.

On CBS, The Big Bang Theory was even with last week's 4.8 adults 18-49 rating. Two and a Half Men scored a 3.7, down three tenths from last week's 4.0 adults 18-49 rating. Person Of Interest garnered a 3.0, up two tenths from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating.  Elementary scored a 2.2, down a tenth from last week's 2.3 among adults 18-49.

On ABC, Last Resort earned a 1.3, its lowest ratings to date, down four tenths from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Grey's Anatomy notched a 2.9, a new season low & down half a ratings point from last week's 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. Scandal scored a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, game 2 of the World Series earned a preliminary 2.9 adults 18-49 rating, but this is likely to be adjusted in the finals.

NBC was likely inflated due to the NFL Pre-emption, so no analysis yet.

On the CW, The Vampire Diaries earned a 1.2, down a tenth from last week's 1.3. Beauty And The Beast was flat with last week's 0.7 adults 18-49 rating.

Late-night ratings are below the primetime data.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

    @Overdamoon:
    ‘‘xcuse me but where would 666 go? LOL
    Scandal has a better lead-in than 666 and faces weaker competition than The Mentalist, which used to be strong until CBS killed with the move. Trust me, Sunday ain’t a good TV night.”

    Actually Sunday is a good night to be a tv viewer, but not for the executives. Lol.

    That’s the reason I want Scandal to go to 666′s slot. Scandal and Revenge have the same audience who like cerebral mystery and overarching plots. 666 just feels like a fish out of water in the entire lineup. Scandal has a loyal fanbase which won’t increase dramatically and 1.9-2.2 could increase on Sundays by a tenth or two-tenths, especially with sports and other male-oriented programs on other channels. 666 isn’t exactly counter-programming since its appealing to men as well, but is just too darn slow in its execution. While Scandal is appealing to everyone, it just doesn’t seem like it has got many male fans. So, theoretically, Revenge and Scandal could gel well together. Nashville and Grey’s are extremely soapy and could have done wonders for ABC in one block.

    @Why The Hate

    Frickin’ racist.

  • Oscar

    GA has being on top for it last 3 episodes (#1 drama in every week) and now drop for one week and PoI is now a bigger hit? give me a break… Let confront the current season averages!! Grey’s in its 9th season is still de #1 drama in US for now…

  • One

    GODDAMN YOU, AMERICA! That was one on the best episodes of television I’ve seen this year, and yet you STILL REJECT IT FURTHER! HOW F_CKING DARE YOU! We will ALL burn such that the infidels who won’t allow this supreme slab of drama the light of day it deserves might burn with us! YOUR DOOM IS UPON YOU ALL!

  • Mark3

    Its weird how some people on here are saying. Yay im happy last resort will get canceled! Why does that make you happy? If you dont like a show DONT WATCH IT! I hate csi and american idol but i dont go around and say i want them canned. Other people may like those shows and makes them happy.

  • Kavyn

    @One I know the feeling, last night’s LR was great! I hate seeing its ratings go down but there’s nothing I can do to help it other than praise it on twitter/fb

    @JJA
    Regarding Supernatural, eventually the actors themselves will want out. They have signed through a season 10, so that’s when it will end: two more seasons after this one.

    Maybe, perhaps even probably, but SPN is making money for the CW and from what I understand the contract with the affiliates ends in 2016 one year after the contracts for the Js expires. If the CW is pretty sure it will be closing up shop in 2016 they MAY talk the Js into one more year so Supernatural can go out with the network. I would conceivably be more profitable than launching a show that will have only one year for syndication.

    @Katie
    Every show will be cancelled EVENTUALLY. The Guiding Light started on radio, before television was created and it got cancelled. Even Gunsmoke of the noted Gunsmoke rule was cancelled.

    The only primetime show that I can see holding on until TV dies is possibly, possibly 60 Minutes, because, I’m old and I remember it being on Sundays when I was a child. It would seem odd to have it gone because what else would they put there? That said, if the ratings tank bye-bye 60 Minutes.

    People are upset about your saying that Supernatural should be cancelled because right now it is doing well in the ratings. These aren’t people defending a show that is tanking. When/if the ratings drop to where the show deserves to be cancelled the fans will be upset and probably complain as much if not more than the TSC fans or the Ringer fans. Then they will dig out their DVDs and rewatch the show when they feel like it. When the time to cancel SPN comes I hope there is enough notice to plan a final season and give the show the send off it deserves for managing to keep relatively strong ratings and a truly devoted fan base.

  • Bill

    Grey’s is gonna go up, so enough “yay POI beat Grey’s”. Also, Scandal will adjust down.

  • THE OLD MAN

    ONE Good to see you back. You should visit more frequently.

  • POIfanatic

    Just for that
    @Bill: YAY! POI BEAT GREY’S!!! WOOHOOO!

  • Jacob

    Bill, you’re a douche.

    Not sure about shared audiences. I love Revenge and watch 666 but not Scandal. Saw a few commercials and minutes of Scandal but nothing is pulling me in. And after seeing that annoying Max guy keeps spamming the show, I’m even less likely to want to watch it.

    Funny commentary about Thursday v. Sunday slot. TM fans protested and complained a great deal when The Mentalist got shoved there. :(

  • Rooks

    Sad about LR…wasn’t even sure I’d like it, but it’s really the best of the new fall shows, quality-wise. The good news is that it’s the only show I care about that’s even remotely in danger, so at least there’s that.

  • William Haney

    The comedies and Person Of Interest beat out the World Series.

  • William Haney

    CBS comedies that is.

  • John

    @Overdamoon: Max is a stupid troll. Ignore him.

    “Funny commentary about Thursday v. Sunday slot. TM fans protested and complained a great deal when The Mentalist got shoved there. :(”

    That’s because they are on CBS, which has sports affecting the entire Sunday line-up for 6 or 7 nights a season. The Mentalist aired at 11pm, instead of 10pm last week. Obviously, ratings are gonna be low for the shows and people will be livid about it. The Mentalist and Good Wife are still fantastic shows. Elementary will drown in Mentalist’s old spot.
