Note: The Thursday Night NFL Network Buccaneers/Vikings game was simulcast on the NBC affiliate in Minneapolis. As a result the numbers for NBC are likely inflated and subject to more than typical adjustments in the final numbers.

On CBS, The Big Bang Theory was even with last week's 4.8 adults 18-49 rating. Two and a Half Men scored a 3.7, down three tenths from last week's 4.0 adults 18-49 rating. Person Of Interest garnered a 3.0, up two tenths from last week's 2.8 adults 18-49 rating.  Elementary scored a 2.2, down a tenth from last week's 2.3 among adults 18-49.

On ABC, Last Resort earned a 1.3, its lowest ratings to date, down four tenths from last week's 1.7 adults 18-49 rating. Grey's Anatomy notched a 2.9, a new season low & down half a ratings point from last week's 3.4 adults 18-49 rating. Scandal scored a 2.0, up a tenth from last week's 1.9 adults 18-49 rating.

On FOX, game 2 of the World Series earned a preliminary 2.9 adults 18-49 rating, but this is likely to be adjusted in the finals.

NBC was likely inflated due to the NFL Pre-emption, so no analysis yet.

On the CW, The Vampire Diaries earned a 1.2, down a tenth from last week's 1.3. Beauty And The Beast was flat with last week's 0.7 adults 18-49 rating.

Late-night ratings are below the primetime data.

Definitions:

Fast Affiliate Ratings: These first national ratings, including demographics, are available at approximately 11 AM (ET) the day after telecast, and are released to subscribing customers daily. These data, from the National People Meter sample, are strictly time-period information, based on the normal broadcast network feed, and include all programming on the affiliated stations, sometimes including network programming, sometimes not. The figures may include stations that did not air the entire network feed, as well as local news breaks or cutaways for local coverage or other programming. Fast Affiliate ratings are not as useful for live programs and are likely to differ significantly from the final results, because the data reflect normal broadcast feed patterns. For example, with a World Series game, Fast Affiliate Ratings would include whatever aired from 8-11PM on affiliates in the Pacific Time Zone, following the live baseball game, but not game coverage that begins at 5PM PT. The same would be true of Presidential debates as well as live award shows and breaking news reports.

Rating: Estimated percentage of the universe of TV households (or other specified group) tuned to a program in the average minute. Ratings are expressed as a percent.

Share (of Audience): The percent of households (or persons) using television who are tuned to a specific program, station or network in a specific area at a specific time. (See also, Rating, which represents tuning or viewing as a percent of the entire population being measured.)

Time Shifted Viewing – Program ratings for national sources are produced in three streams of data – Live, Live+Same Day (Live+SD) and Live+7 Day. Time shifted figures account for incremental viewing that takes place with DVRs. Live+Same Day (Live+SD) include viewing during the same broadcast day as the original telecast, with a cut-off of 3:00AM local time when meters transmit daily viewing to Nielsen for processing. Live+7 Day ratings include incremental viewing that takes place during the 7 days following a telecast.

Scandal will be adjusted down, as always. Still, that’s okay considering the other 10pm shows. Up All Night will too.

Elementary still not stable. If it starts to hit below 2.0, then all it has in its advantage is a saving face renewal.

  • http://tvbythenumbers.com Bill Gorman

“Glad to see Parks and Rec being relatively stable at those numbers.”

When celebrating prelim NBC results, be aware that due to Mineapolis NFL pre-emption, your final ratings mileage may vary.

  • Jared

Scandal was amazing last night..as usual. Seems to be very consistent for ABC. ABC is smart ordering only 13 episode seasons.

  • Guardian Owl

So after going slightly up last week Last Resort suddenly crashes 4 tenths? Does Lost Resort have THAT much of an overlap with baseball fans?

  • OERM

Well, I think this is the beggining of the end of Grey’s Anatomy, already on the high 2’s. Season 10 should be the final.

  • Oliver

That’s a monster drop for Grey’s. Where did that come from?

  • Concerned Citizen

Dammit, Last Resort fell hard. And after its best episode, too…

  • vanna

Yayyyyyyyyyyyy POI! god, I love that show.

  • Brian J

NBC really needs to either cancel “UAN” or move it to another slot quickly. It should waste any new programming on this slot unless it sees (a) a new show blow up or (b) has a low-risk unscripted show available. It’s brutal for the network now and will only get worse when “Idol” premieres in January. “UAN” could still grow into a hit for the network, and it makes no sense to sacrifice it to more established shows.

  • Remote Patrolled

Despite what Max says I don’t think Scandal and Revenge are in competition anymore – the latter has definitely won that battle!

I’d say the face off for survival is between Nashville and Scandal – both hovering around 2.0 / around the same number of viewers. Key difference is that Scandal get a bigger lead in…

ABC may renew both, neither or just one.

I sense Nashville has the slight upper hand. Itunes sales and critical acclaim may give it the edge…

I wish a miracle could save Last Resort! Great drama!

  • Michael

@Alexis, this isn’t the first time. In fact, TVD season premiere beat Last Resort.

  • Honey Badger

@ eridapo good point, why is that happening? since ABC counts on Grey’s Anatomy high ratings, what does ABC do now?

Since the beginning of the season, Greys has lost 1.5 points on the demo.

    4.4, 3.8, 3.3, and 2.9

  • CrimTV

    @OERM

You do realise many shows fail to get a 2.9 nowadays, and Grey’s is in it’s 9th season and still pulling these numbers

  • rob60990

“once upon a time is finally abc top rated drama!!!!!!!!”

Well don’t jinx it. We don’t know yet. ;)

“That’s a monster drop for Grey’s. Where did that come from?”

This season has been atrocious. Shonda is doing her sweeps stunt in 2 weeks so ratings should go back up.

  • rob60990

“this isn’t the first time. In fact, TVD season premiere beat Last Resort.”

They both tied at a 1.6 that week.

  • eridapo

    @ Ali

Revolution has the massive Voice lead-in of 5.0+. Even if it loses half the demo from the Voice, it will still get a 2.5. Normally shows following massive hits like the Voice only lose 40% of the demo so a 3.0 makes sense. Will we ever see Revolution without the Voice, I doubted.

  • Oliver

Will we get a poll for the ratings of the Mockingbird Lane special?

  • darius

Bill, criminal minds wasn t the show chosen for the post Superbowl timeslot in 2007?It did 26 million viewers and the next original episode did 16 million, the next 14.I have a heard time that POI is going to gain anything from the post superbowl timeslot on the long term!

  • Kenny
