NBC ranked #1 Friday night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in 18-49, led

by the second-highest Friday "Grimm" ever, a two-year non-sports slot

high from "Mockingbird Lane" and a season high for "Dateline."

* At 8 p.m. ET, "Mockingbird Lane" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million

viewers overall) scared up NBC's best non-sports 18-49 rating in the

slot since October 8, 2010 ("Dateline," 1.6). In total viewers, it

was an NBC non-sports high in the slot since March 23 ("Who Do You

Think You Are," 5.6 million). "Mockingbird Lane" ranked #2 in the

time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49 and most other

key demos and tied for #1 among those networks in women 25-54. From

its first half-hour to its second, "Mockingbird Lane" grew by 7

percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.6 from a 1.5).

* At 9 p.m. ET, "Grimm" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.0 million viewers

overall) captured the show's second-highest Friday rating ever, behind

only its October 28, 2011 series debut. In total viewers (6.0

million), it's the biggest audience for "Grimm" on any night of the

week since the second telecast of the series on November 4, 2011.

* "Grimm" locked up the #1 18-49 rating of the night on ABC, CBS,

NBC and Fox, marking the fifth straight week "Grimm" has been Friday's

top scripted show on those networks. In the time period, "Grimm" was

#1 or tied for #1 among those networks in every key demographic.

"Grimm" won the hour by a 36 percent margin in adults 18-49 over the

1.4 ratings of CBS's "CSI: NY" and ABC's "All Access Nashville with

Katie Couric."

* "Grimm" increased its rating from its first half-hour to its

second in every key ratings measure - adults, men and women 18-34,

18-49 and 25-54, plus total viewers.

* Keep in mind that last season, "Grimm" originals added an

average 69 percent to these next-day "live plus same day" 18-49

ratings when Nielsen issued "live plus seven day" results.

* At 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 4.5 million

viewers overall) reported its highest in-season 18-49 rating since

February 10 to finish #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in the time period in

that key demo. "Dateline" grew week to week in 18-49 rating by 15

percent (to a 1.5 from a 1.3).

* NBC won the night among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in adults 18-49,

adults 25-54 and most other key demos. NBC's average 1.6 in 18-49

for the night is the network's highest Friday rating with non-sports

programming since September 23, 2011. It's NBC's first outright

Friday win among those networks with non-sports programming since

December 16, 2011

I know that Wednesdays and Thursdays are still a mess for NBC, but their other three weeknights are all proving surprisingly sturdy.

  • Ram510

I wish they would’ve had demographic break down for both shows

  • Juan

Since NBC has stuff to brag about they should really get better with press realese, at least ABC press releases are nice to read even of stretching truth but congrats to both Grimm and mockingbird, I loved the pilot and very glad that Grimm went this high, plus I love Kate del Castillo, ill watch the episode later

  • Christian

It shall be interesting to see the battle between Grimm and Shark Tank next week.

@senor chang – Without football, NBC’s Sunday nights are a mess too. The Celebrity Apprentice crashed and burned in the spring, and its lead-in was a show that routinely fell below 1.0 (Harry’s Law). With Celebrity Apprentice returning to Sundays in spring of 2013, albeit reduced to one hour, and paired with the less-than-stellar Fashion Star and a brand new drama that isn’t in any way compatible with its lead-ins… I think you’ll have to add Sundays to the list of nights they need to fix.

It’s doing the M*A*S*H on all the competition, Grimm is the graveyard SMASH

    Go Grimm!

  • tv#1

It would make for fun Friday nights if NBC went with this as apart of their mid-season schedule…

    Mockingbird Lane

  • DryedMangoez

    Excellent numbers for Grimm!
    Nice for Mockingbird Lane.

  • marcos

they should really pick up mockingbird lane now

  • jessica

I would love a repeat or put it on iTunes. The NBC station i get didn’t show it.

  • jessica

Am i just banned from commenting or is it only on posts about Mockingbird Lane?

  • jessica

OK, not banned? But i can’t say it wasn’t on the station i get. That seems to filter to spam every time. If this is approved i won’t know what it is doing.

  • Robert Seidman

@jessica: you’re definitely not banned…not sure why those landed in spam

  • Dave

Mockingbird Lane didn’t even air on the Detroit affiliate, as it was pre-empted by local programming :(

  • Rooks

I like Bryan Fuller, but I can’t stand Jerry O. Even if this got picked up, his ego would probably destroy it the way it did Sliders. This had some good moments, but I’d rather see Fuller stick with Hannibal.

  • Greg

I don’t see how NBC can ignore the potential Mockingbird Lane might have for a Friday night horror branding, especially if Hannibal is added to the mix. This could potentially be a game-changer for the night, eclipsing the tired CBS procedurals. I know a 1.5 might not sound high, but considering it was on a Friday on Halloween weekend and had only 2 weeks to self-promote itself, i say Lane cant be just written off

    @ Greg

I agree about the CBS procedurals. A Grimm/Hannibul combo on Sat would definitely do the trick, as well as the ABC lineup as it is now most certainly proving.

  • Parker

Congrats to Grimm!! Love the show, and this was a great, creepy episode. I would watch a Mockingbird Lane series, too, if they did some recasting…like Brad Garrett instead of the wooden Jerry O’Connell.
