How Will 'The Walking Dead' Rate Now That AMC Is Back On Dish and Everybody Knows It? (Poll)

Update: the episode drew a 5.4 adults 18-49 rating, up 6% from the previous week and 10.509 million viewers.

Even without Dish, the season three premiere of The Walking Dead was no zombie when it came to the ratings, scoring a series high 5.8 adults 18-49 rating. Last week AMC was back for Dish Network subscribers, but perhaps not in time for all of them to know it.  Even though Dish was back,  the second episode was down 12% to a 5.1 adults 18-49 rating. But considering how common it is for shows to drop 15%-20% from their season premieres, the 12% still seems pretty good.

But last season the drop off between the season premiere and the second episode was down only five percent (a 3.6 A18-49 rating, compared to a 3.8 for the premiere), though the absolute ratings are much bigger this season. Last year the "big" drop  was for the third episode of the season which fell to a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating, down 18% from the season premiere and 14% from the previous week's episode.

What happens tonight?

Why are there no choices in the 5.2 to 5.7 range?

haste! I’ve added it in now, but it may take a few minutes to show up.

    4.8 – 5.0

I have no idea about cable ratings. But as far the show goes, this show got boring..but somehow it still keeps me watching.

But based on the info written above the poll, I would go with 5.2 to 5.7 option. I am guessing it would be 5.3.

  • CJ

    4.8 or 4.9

  • Rooks

4.8…Hoping the ep 3 drop won’t be too bad.

Hurricane Sandy will affect a lot of people. I’m not sure everyone will be able to watch it.

5.1 or maybe a 5.2 I think. I don’t think it will take a big drop like last year.

Also…..I bet all ratings tonight and this week will be down because of the Hurricane. Like people will be without power or have to be worrying about better things than watching TV. So I think that should be taken into account a little bit.

  • IceCreamSunday

If people have power and TV reception, the storm shouldn’t impact the ratings. I mean what else is there to do besides watch the box?

  • richard

i hope new high but probably 5.3 -5.5

Any loss is mitigated by grateful DISH owners.
