Update: CBS will air repeats of its comedies from 8-10PM and a CBS News special on Hurricane Sandy from 10-11PM, per the network's publicity department.

CBS will air a repeat of  Hawaii Five-0 tonight due to Hurricane Sandy. The episode scheduled to air tonight will air next week. Executive Producer Peter Lenkov tweeted the news: "Halloween ep has been pushed a week. Tonight, those of u with power get to see Ed Asner sizzle in 302. Those without-God bless. "

But…why? Guess east coast viewers are pretty valuable.

“But…why? Guess east coast viewers are pretty valuable.”

Slightly less than 50% of the US population is in the Eastern time zone. Certainly heavily weighted to the Northeast.

    @JAA
According to GMMRTV a Castle rep says the show is still scheduled to air tonight

ABC would air originals against the Apocalpyse. ;)

  • ERIN SMITH

    MNF or WWE?

  • Hmm

I think ABC would have a more difficult time airing a repeat since DWTS is live. Barring anything huge happening I really don’t to watch a special news report on high waves and wind.

Being a veteran of more hurricanes than I would like, be prepared for some record low ratings over the next week. Once the power goes out, it could be a week or more before any of these people get electricity or cable again. Repairs crews cannot get in their buckets to start repairing lines as long as the wind stays above 35 mph. Here in New Orleans for Isaac, which was only a little stronger than Sandy, it was three days before the crews could start working on the lines. I was without electricity for a week. Thank God I was able to find a generator and have AT&T U-Verse.

This seems pointless. It always seems like the world revolves on the East Coast. ( And No, this is a different Max.)

If I wanted to hear a report, I would turn on CNN. Isn’t that what 24/7 news is for?

  • Cyrax86

Zap2It now reports tomorrow’s episodes of Go On & The New Normal are pre-empted for storm coverage.

Estimates are that up to 80 million people (25% of the population) will be affected by the storm.

I don’t get it. Is there a H-50 repeat at 10 or is it the Hurricane Sandy special airing at 10 on CBS??

CBS News Special (Five-0 might air out west).

Originally, the news about H50 being replaced for a repeat was out before the CBS release on the news special.

Screw CBS, especially if the other networks aren’t pre-empting. I want a new HF-0 on the west coast. There are plenty of other places for people to get news of the storm, and if they don’t have power, it won’t matter anyway. All the networks ever do with these reports, is repeat the same bloody information twenty times.

  • Alan

    Why? :(

  • Max

Agree with Maryilyn!! What about us on the West Coast!!

If I were you, I would refuse to send CBS the check you’ve written to them for their Monday night shows.

    Oh, wait….

You might benefit from reading this. Or not.

“Agree with Maryilyn!! What about us on the West Coast!!”

You do realize that the episodes in question didn’t get erased, they’ll effectively replace repeats on another night?

Or has your unbridled sense of entitlement blinded you to that fact?

  • Maryilyn

@Bill Gorman: I read the article: Ho-hum. LOL

Of course our anger is irrational, and we’ll be over it tomorrow, but people do get sick of whatever happens on the east coast dictating what is broadcast for the whole country. We have a right to express our opinion.
