There won't be much new prediction news with Fox shows until January unless The Mindy Project takes a sudden dive when it returns with new episodes. Stay tuned.

Ben And Kate received a full season order but unless it stages a miraculous post-World Series ratings recovery, it's not going to see a second season.

Fox's The Mob Doctor is still certain to be canceled even if it airs through the month of November, and beyond!

Raising Hope is now predicted as "certain to be renewed" even with its somewhat weak early ratings. While the syndication gods ruling Fox aren't quite as predictable as those ruling CBS, it would take nothing short of a cataclysm to prevent the show from getting a fourth season. Read more about it here.

*shows no longer on the air have their Renew/Cancel Index "frozen" at the point they left the schedule.

Notes:

  • - certain to be cancelled by May, 2013
  • - more likely to be cancelled than renewed by May, 2013
  • :| :| :| - toss up between renewal or cancellation by May, 2013
  • :) :) :) :) - more likely to be renewed than cancelled by May, 2013
  •     - certain to be renewed by May, 2013

The Renew/Cancel Index is the ratio of a scripted show's new episode adults 18-49 ratings relative to the new episode ratings of the other scripted shows on its own network. It's calculated by dividing a show's new episode Live+Same Day adults 18-49 average rating by the Live+Same Day new episode average of all the new scripted show episodes on the show's own network. The network's average ratings in the calculation are not time weighted (ex. hour long shows are not weighted twice what 30 minute shows are).

(F) -Fridays: Shows airing on Fridays were renewed with significantly lower than average Indexes.

So Fringe does 0.9 on a friday and gets 0.48
And Mob D does 0.9 on a monday and gets 0.56

    How is that right?

  • Carmen

I’m glad to read that TVBTN considers Raising Hope a sure thing for renewal.

That’s good. It’s a good show in a very tough time slot.

Fox would have a terrible time trying to replace it with something that 1) would do better and/or 2) with something else with potential that they would want to put in this time slot.

  • THE OLD MAN

    No arguments here

Fox scheduling is so sad, there was a time when I watched every night, now it is just one show. What happened to them? Reality and comedies, ugh

  • DC

Between the Presidential debates..The World Series and preemptions Fox and there new comedies are going to tank when they finally come back. The Mindy Project has been off the air for a month now and the ratings for the first couple episodes were mediocre at best.

  • chris

The Simpsons is FOX’s highest rated show! As it should be.

The index takes into account more than just the latest episode’s rating…

  • Davin Peterson

I’m surprised that FOX hasn’t cancelled the Mob Doctor yet.

In past years, networks would pull low rated shows right before the November Sweeps

  • Ultima

    @DC
The Mindy Project has been off the air for a month now

Tonight will be the third episode of The Mindy Project to air in October. How can you possible describe that as being off the air for a month?

  • CBSviewer

I hope The Simpsons will survive their 25th season, this show is too good to end :)

  • Bob Saget

It’s not too late to bring back House!

  • Sarah

I just hope Bones does okay Monday after the 4-week break.

  • Raykim

    i had enough of Glee!
Season 1 – great exciting show
    Season 2 – still great
Season 3 – suddenly become sick and the next day suddenly DIED!
Season 4 – oh, this show is about zombies now?

i hate that stupid annoying bitch that doesn’t know when to shut up aka rachel berry (like that show is all about her), i hate kurt and his NYADA NYADA NYADA thing and i hate stupid dump no self esteem finn.
and the worst part, the songs choices are like freaking disaster!!

“So Fringe does 0.9 on a friday and gets 0.48

    How is that right?”

The Index number is the average of the ratings of all the new episodes of a show that have aired this season divided by the average of all the scripted episodes aired on its network for the season.

  • Justin121

I think Ben & Kate will be renewed, if it keeps a +1.5 average upon its return.

  • Mark

Mindy has it moments. I will watch it if I am flipping channels. But She’s not “Series Recording” worthy.

  • Shawn

It’s unfortunate that good shows get cancelled, yet crap gets rave reviews and high numbers. Must be a sign of the apocalypse.

  • NE1

Raising Hope in syndication? :-/ Eh.

  • Lisa3732

Mob Doctor is a great show and they need to keep it on the air. How can it be on the bubble when shows like The Mindy Project and Ben and Kate have been signed for a full season.
